WOW! Great job! Mr Tusky and Team are super knowledge of not only the refrigerator that we called for repair on but provided info on maintaining other household appliances as well. A true pioneer in appliances, with old school knowledge and know how applied to modern fixtures. Thanks again to Bob Tusky's Best. [email protected]

Frustrating. Bob needed a part in order to complete the job. He set up a temporary fix. He returned once without the part. We called 4-5 more times and he never remembered who we were or what we needed. He kept saying he would return and complete the job but did not. We ended up going with someone else who fixed it on their first try.

Bob is very responsive - answered his phone on a Sunday and came out Monday morning, ordered and came to put in the new part by Tuesday. He works quickly and is very professional. We will definitely be calling him again.

Bob was very organized with his list of job visits for the day. After calling, he showed up the next day within the time frame expected. He knew exactly what he was doing. Plus he answered our questions about HE washers & the best dishwasher. We were very pleased.

He is a great repairman. He knew exactly what was wrong from a short phone conversation and was able to come the same day. He was considerate to keep us posted as to when he would arrive and completed the job quickly. He also gave us some advice about some of our other appliances, all with a wry sense of humor. We would definitely hire him again.

Other people wanted $300 if they would even come look at it. I called this company and they knew exactly what was wrong quoted me a price and came at the time set and fixed it for the quoted price with a guarantee. Also gave me a neighborhood discount I would hire again any time

He was very friendly and he knew a lot about my washer and dryer. I had a Kenmore and he knew everything about them. He said don't ever get rid of it and that it was the best washer around. He was very professional and he was also very cordial. I'll request him all the time when I need them

Tusky called this A.M. to tell when he would be here, showed up on time, and only took 45 minutes to do the work. (My plumber had told me what he thought was wrong, I told Tusky. Plumber was right). In line with phone estimate, we hope! This is an experienced, no nonsense, hard-working guy!

Mr. Tusky recently (11/28/2013) installed a Kitchenaid dishwasher at my home. At the time he said he was in a hurry so would return to straighten and attach the cabinet top and side panel, which had been displaced by the installation. He returned and ?fixed? the cabinet on 12/17/2013.
We paid $190 for the installation, which my wife and I were under the clear understanding included the cost of finishing the job. When Mr. Tusky arrived on December 17, he said to my wife that he did not normally repair cabinets and he did not have all the required tools either. When he had screwed in the side panel he announced that he was going to charge $75 for this job. This was clearly a breach of the original contract because he had not finished the job for which we had contracted and paid.
When my wife pointed to the now damaged panel, with the head of a screw and broken hardboard sticking into view Mr. Tusky argued that that was old damage and he denied it was his responsibility. I was not here, but my wife paid him ?just to get him out of here.?
That evening, we noticed that the dishwasher was not secured to the floor and that it TIPPED OVER when a rack full of dishes was opened. We called our old contractor, Paul Ernst, to come and assess what needed to be done. Mr. Ernst says that he found the following:
1. The side panel had been damaged at installation and needed to be replaced (he has worked in our kitchen before and knows it in detail).
2. The clips to hold the dishwasher in place at the front had not been installed and were found lying loose--one under the dishwasher and one on top where the clips are placed.
3. The screws into the side panel did not hold the dishwasher in place, and could not possibly do so given their positioning.
4. There are places on the sides of the dishwasher for clips and screws, which had not been used for to secure the dishwasher.
5. The cover for the electrical wiring had not been installed and was lying on the floor, so wiring was exposed to any spilled water.
6. The wiring was so loose in the wire nuts that it came apart at first touch.
7. The main cable from the power source to the electrical box had not been attached with its wire mount, which was hanging loose.
There are photographs of proof.
The result of this incompetence was that we hired Paul Ernst to redo the whole job and to replace the side damaged side panel. Mr. Ernst says that we may use his name here on Angie?s List, and that he will testify on our behalf in a Small Claims Court.
We are thus demanding a refund of $287.47, which is the total for Mr. Tusky's work plus the cost of the new side panel, purchased at Home Depot: $24.97.
I have offered to Mr. Tusky that I shall edit this Angie's list accordingly if he reimburses me immediately.

I liked him because he did not just try to do the job and leave when he could not do it. He let me know what I should do and I liked that. He was very friendly, personable and helpful. He gave helpful hints afterwards with my refrigerator and other areas as far as filters and just different things within the refrigerator to keep it cool and not block the vents and things like that. He was dependable. You could depend on what he says.

Over all, extremely poor. First, they came in my front door while I was in powder room without waiting for me to answer the door. After they removed existing appliances, I wanted to clean crumbs, etc in area where oven was being replaced, and was told that it was not necessary and would take up too much time. I did it anyway and was told that "Jewish and Italian women always need to clean." I am a doctor, so I have a reliable level of intelligence. After he installed the oven, and pronounced it done , I asked about the large void at the bottom of the oven, and the left over pieces. It also seemed that the frame was bending, causing the control panal to warp. He insisted that it was an "optical illusion"! He said there were unnecessary trim pieces and that I'd have to call a carpenter to fill the hole. I read the directions for the installation and informed him that the leftover pieces were part of the vent assembly and needed to be installed on the bottom of the oven (where the void was) He said there was no place to screw that on, and could not figure out how the pieces went together. I read the directions and put the pieces together. I informed him that the instructions showed that the oven door needed to be removed first in order to attach the vent. He did not seem to want to do it, at first making it seem that the door could not be removed. Also, I told him that the oven was not flush with the cabinet, but he said that was the best it would fit because a pipe was in the way. I told him I would do what was necessary, such as have the pipe moved, even if that meant delaying the installation, but he said I could not move the pipe because it would be too costly. (untrue) I said it was not acceptable to have the oven sticking out 1/2 inch, it looked terrible....and it was crooked! He and his assistant removed the oven and cut off parts of the back of it, voiding the warranty, to make the oven fit flush, all the while warning me that this extra work was going to cost me more money.
The microwave installation was worse!!! He would not use a level or a measuring tape, insisting that it was not necessary to center or level the mounting bracket or for the oven to be level. He and his assistant took a long time trying to figure out a way to force the oven to fit when it was clear to me that the bracket was not positioned correctly. He made rude sexist comments to me when I asked the oven be centered and level. They broke the mounting hardware on the appliance trying to force it! Again, I was warned of their hourly rate and was scolded for making them late for their next job. I was forced to accept it as is...croocked and at a forward tilt. Mostly, I just gave up knowing I will have to have someone else come to fix their mess. It was clear to me they either did not want to or did not know how to do the job properly.
As for mess, they did not use any drop cloth and got tarry streakes from their shoes all over my kitchen and entry tile floor. It took me an hour with a bottle of GooGone to get it all off. They cracked one of my floor tiles in front of the oven area. They left all of the packaging, random screws and garbage in several areas of my garage and kitchen. In my opinion, they were generally incompetent, sloppy, careless, rude, sexist.... and I will never let them into my house again!

He was paid twice for a job he had to fix 3 times. We gave him $160 the first time in the middle of the winter when we were without heat for 5 days. He took a look at it and replaced the motor. It still wasn't working functionably. He brought in a tiny space heater as the resolution until he could get it fixed. He had to order more parts, but we still had trouble with the heat working.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. REPAIR PERSON (NOT MR. TUSKY) DID MORE DAMAGE THAN GOOD TO THE MACHINE. TOOK TWO WEEKS TO DECIDE THEY REALLY COULDN'T REPAIR IT. FINALLY CALLED AN AUTHORIZED REPAIR COMPANY - PAID MORE - BUT THEY HAD IT FIXED WITHIN TWO DAYS. I NEVER ENDED UP PAYING MR. TUSKY FOR HIS LOUSY SERVICE.

THE OWNER ASSURED ME THAT THIS COULD NOT BE THE CASE AND REPLACED THE TIMER, THE LEAKING CONTINUED. ON THE SECOND VISIT, THE OWNER WAS SURE THAT IT WAS THE DRIP TUBE HE WOULD ORDER, THE LEAKING CONTINUED. STUNNED, HE SHOVED THIS AND THAT AROUND, THEN REPLACED THE TUBE SERVING THE ICE MAKER. I NOW OWN THE REPLACED TIMER [POSSIBLE STILL GOOD], A NEW BUT UNNECESSARY DRIP TUBE, AND BILLS TOTALING AN AMOUNT FOR WHICH I MIGHT HAVE PURCHASED A NEW REFRIGERATOR.

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS WONDERFUL. THE REPAIRMAN CAME ON A WEEKEND BEFORE THE HOLIDAY WHEN I WAS IN DIRE NEED OF AN OVEN. HE QUICKLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM (WHICH HE HAD EVEN EXPECTED OVER THE PHONE) AND WAS ABLE TO REPLACE A PART THAT DAY. HE WAS THOROUGH, EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT ABOUT APPLIANCES AND COURTEOUS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANY MAJOR APPLIANCE REPAIR.
