Very happy with the service at Baum; I get personalized attention and they know how to find parts quickly and get me in and out. I've been bringing my 1999 Jag into Baum for the past few years, and they've been able to diagnose and fix a number of issues on my (gracefully) aging beauty.

I brought my car in for an oil change, which they did, and then advised that I get all new tires, which they helped me do at the most reasonable cost possible. They are always prompt, respectful, and trustworthy.

We had a horrible service. They did a terrible job. I couldn't trust the work anymore. I should have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but they reimbursed me for repairs that weren't even necessary. They put in brake shoes. They pulled out the radiator that wasn't broken and then when questioned with my husband, they just reimbursed me for the cost and then I never took the car back to them. I seriously believe that, the steering mechanism, because after I took it in to them when I got it, the steering bumped whenever you turn the car and it hits really loud. I just think that they deliberately did things to my car because of it's age and not purely because it was required. I would not recommend them at all because they're not honest people, especially with women. After my husband came down, their attitude changed. I just had a horrible experience with them. I thought the fact that they came from Angie's List, it would not be anything like that. But it was just the worst service I had ever had on my car.

I put new struts and strut mounts on to my car and it needed to be aligned. BBA had recently put on tires and performed a oil change service on my wife's 2010 Subaru. The alignment was performed and they called me to tell me that the car was ready.
They also mentioned two oil leaks that they had found and asked it I would like to have the leaks identified for $50. I said sure, why not. When I brought the car back to BBA after they had put some IV dye into the crankcase, they gave a quote for $500 dollars to fix the two leaks. When I replied that I did not want to schedule the repair at that very moment they became indignant and really treated me poorly. They then asked that I leave their waiting room! I've never been treated like this by a service center.
To top it off, when I pick up my car they had forgot to replace the covers on my engine; they were still floating around somewhere in their garage. So after all that, I had to go back there and ask them to finish the repair.
It was the first cold day of the year and while I was in the waiting room there were about 10-20 people that came in because their Tire Pressure Monitor light came on. Instead of quickly helping these people with a couple pounds of air, they trumped up the warning light into a big deal and scheduled these people for full appointments several days later in the week.
In summary, I found the staff to be condescending, the service spotty, and the prices ho-hum. There are other businesses in Pittsburgh that actually value their customers. BBA expects their customers to come in with a blindfold on and their wallets open.
I fixed both oil leaks myself for less than $10 dollars.

There are 2 service advisers, happy and grumpy. Initially I delt with "happy". I set the appointment, came by, told me step by step what to expect, he drove me to the car rental place, excellent customer service. While I was waiting for him to drive me, I could hear "grumpy" at the other desk. I remember thinking to myself, man I hope I never have to deal with THAT guy.
If I make an appointment with you it is because my time is valuable. I had to rent a car and leave it with them all day. Not expected since I already provided them my car information including the VIN #. Ok so I let it slide, no biggie.
I call back a month later to fix the back brakes trying to fit this into my schedule and theirs. "Grumpy" provided horrible customer service, sighing on the phone and unwilling to compromise at all. You have all of my information in the computer, why not order the part ahead of time and I can wait while they fix it. I could have come in for the diagnostic, gave them a day to order the part and return to get the work done while I wait. No, he wanted me to leave the car for the entire day again. There was no effort on his part to to understand where I was coming from. As a previous service adviser myself for 5 yrs, I would never recommend this place to anyone just because of this individual. As a woman, I was talked at and down to like I was an idiot.
I know that no one can diagnose over the phone, yet you should still retain your customers by being as accommodating as possible. Effort goes a long way in customer service.

Put the car on the computer and confirmed need for oil change. I told them that this is the 2nd time that the indicator goes off way before the 3,000 miles and asked them to check on the sensor or computer parts that send the signal. I did not get the feeling they checked that, but just what the computer said. They confirmed what another mechanic said about the A/C compressor gone and the strut blown. They also recommended that I replace all 4 tires, given that the threads was thinning out. For a line of cars that has been discontinued and parts that have become so expensive, I may end up trading it in. They gave me an estimate of $1000 for new A/C compressor labor and parts (do they typically run that high or is it because Saturn parts are hard to find?) and for the one strut $800 for replacement. They seem too pricey, but I left with the impression that they are good and would go back. I'm just worried that parts will be harder to find for a Saturn and that one from another GM vehicle won't do the trick.

Every year I take my cars to Baum Blvd for yearly state inspection and tell them what else might need work.  If they can't fix it that day they do the inspection work and whatever else they can and then schedule a return visit for when the parts come in.  They are very reliable.

I found them on Angie's list and decided to call since they had such good reviews. We called and made an apt for a same day vehicle inspection. I dropped the car off at 9:30am like we had agreed. They were told we were going to be going on a long drive for vacation and so we wanted the car in tip top shape....so anything they seen wrong they were to just fix it. They also knew we needed to pick up our son from school and needed the car by 3:30pm. They said the car would be ready by then. My husband arrives to get the car at 3:30pm and they hadn't done anything yet. While he's standing there they hurry and do an oil change. Then they had the nerve to charge us $88.00 for AN OIL CHANGE! I don't understand what the issue was exactly with this place, but I would absolutely never go there again, nor would I recommend it.
Response from Baum Boulevard Automotive
"Our task was to perform a State Inspection, Emissions Test and oil change. Unfortunately this car failed both the Safety and Emissions inspections. Nathan called the client and explained what needed to be done to the car for it to pass the Safety test and explained that further diagnosis would be necessary to determine the reason the check engine light was on preventing it from passing the Emissions test. He did not authorize any repairs and only said that he would be by to pick up the car. Even if the repairs necessary to have the car pass both tests had been authorized, they could not have been completed in the six hour time frame we were given. If your car has no issues, the Inspection process will only take one day. If repairs are necessary, the completion of that process is determined by the availability of parts and the length of time each repair physically takes. In any event, we are not permitted under the State Inspection regulations to perform any work on a customers car without the authorization by the customer for each specific repair. As to the $88.00 cost, that was for all three services, not just an oil change. We apoligize for the obvious communications break down but, many things here were beyond our control."

They are fantastic and I would recommend them. They are great. They are always really upfront about the costs. There is nothing sneaky. They also run an environmentally friendly auto shop. Their price is very fair. They are excellent. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

It is a very old car and they worked with me to determine whether it was worth putting money into or if it was time to move on. They really looked at the car very carefully; the things that they did needed to be done so the car would drive safely. Before they even did any of that they assured me that the engine and frame was in good shape and that the car had couple more years left to it and that it was worth putting money into it. They did not really rip into it before making sure it was a good move on my part. I will use them again in the future.

Keith was extremely helpful in not only diagnosing the problem with my car, but in fixing it for an affordable price, and in a timely manner.  He was able to figure out why my car was spewing smoke like crazy, when even the dealership (where I purchased the car from seven years ago, and have since taken the car to for regular maintenance and minor repairs) was unable.  Keith went above and beyond in his efforts to communicate the problem (which was complicated), and ensure it was resolved.   I HIGHLY recommend Baum, and will definitely be going back for regular maintenance work, and any other service issues that come up in the future.

I had them first install tires and wheels that I bought from Tire Rack online. I was happy that they could take me while I waited early in the morning, and that they did a nice job. The guy working the front desk is always very polite, and the waiting room is always clean. I went back for my state inspection, which only took an hour and a half. I realized a bulb was out on my turn signal that they either missed or it happened right after the inspection, and I brought it back in to fix that too. They fixed it no charge just in case it was their fault. I really like them, and will definitely use them for any future car repairs. My ONLY critique is that I wish they had a no cell phone policy in the waiting room. It's totally quiet in there and when you have to sit and wait for your car and someones yapping endlessly, it's agony. Bring headphones just in case.

I had been given an estimate at a Subaru dealership of $1,500 for this work. I was seriously considering trading in the car, since I had just spent other money on it recently, and thought perhaps this was the beginning of a series of prohibitively expensive repairs on an older vehicle. But I really hesitated as I am not in a position to have a car payment either right now if I can possibly help it. Baum Blvd. saved the day! Their evaluation of the situation was thorough and professional - they also gave me an assessment of the likelihood of other major repairs in the near future, which was positive enough that between that, and their extremely reasonable price, I decided to have the work done and hang on to the car.

It was generally a good experience. They were friendly, professional, up front about costs and were willing to talk frankly about what could and could not be put off for later. I was getting my car that had been left sitting for about a year going again and was a bit shocked at how much it added up to, but the itemized bill is within (near the upper end, for this area) the normal estimates for services that I found on the internet when I looked it up. But, I am willing to pay for quality. The car runs beautifully now, and they got it done in only a couple of days! I plan on going back.
