"This customer has left out a lot of information about this situation: First, he cancelled on us earlier in the week. Instead of charging him a cancellation fee and refusing to work with him, we squeezed him in on a Saturday morning in order to be accommodating. Secondly, rather than staying while the work was completed, he left to run errands. The woman who stayed at the job with the crew was told that their windows were particular difficult as they were installed upside-down compared to typical Pella windows. Despite the difficulty, the customer was not charged anything additional, in fact the price was reduced because one of the windows wouldn't move. The woman was pleased enough with the work to not only pay the crew but tip them for the work. He was correct that one member of the crew had more experience than the other: one has been cleaning windows for 20 yrs, the other for 5 yrs. This is hardly something to find fault with. Thirdly, the customer reached out because a clip had come out of one of the screens. As he mentioned, his money was refunded to cover the cost to replace it. These screens cost between $5-$10 so $120 would not only cover the screen cost but also his time spent purchasing it, a more than generous offer. Moreover though, had he removed his screens ahead of time, that would have been avoided altogether. He also alleged that one of the frames was damaged, but failed to mention in his review that this window WAS NEVER cleaned. It seemed as though he was trying to get us to take responsibility to damage that was already present before we got there. Finally, he stated that this wasn't resolved in a timely manner but was told that we were closed on Sunday for family reasons and he would be addressed on Monday morning. According to my email time stamp, we spoke at 10:34AM Monday. Again, that appears to be timely, and responsive, by any measurement. I'm not really sure what else this customer expected. We did our best for him at every turn only to be met with complaint after complaint rather than appreciation. Good luck to the "hundreds of other window cleaners" out there making him happy."
