I have been working with Melanie for over a year and she has absolutely helped me get out of a dark funk of paralysis into a vision of an organized future with her as my "partner" - not my cleaning lady. She is very smart and very creative and worth her weight in gold. Too much chaos and disorganization makes me depressed. She has really helped me get a handle on how to process stuff rather than deny I am piling it up. She is not just an organizer, but also has experience in psychology and interior design which is an unusual and great combination. As we have worked together, I got called on several habits, which she observed and pointed out as - NOT HELPFUL! Psychology side. Many useful and beautiful uses of space were discovered through her interior decorator side. And for a petite as she is, she is STRONG. She hauls the "give-a-ways" out to her car, donates them for me and brings back the receipt. She puts furniture together and fixes all kinds of things - large and small. She is all around skillful and helpful. My house is a lace I am proud of now. I still have her come for touch-ups and special occasions as needed. I have tried at least 4 other organizers over the past 10 years, and I finally found Melanie, the only one that was able to see me through the entire process, and engage me in a way that I learned how to continue to organize and manage my possessions myself.

The service was very good. She as hard working and stayed with us the whole time. She gave really good ideas on how to get rid of things and get things organized. She did a lot of leg work for us.

Can a service provider enable a customer to achieve better quality of life?
Sure, we are all familiar with the extreme "hoarder" overexposed on TV. But what about those of us who save unused and underutilized "stuff". These possessions are often disorganized and gathering dust. And, after a while, we are stuck and unable to move forward; overburdened by our material goods. If you can relate to this problem, then you have come to the right place for help.
Yes, Melanie gets A+ grades in all listed categories. She has a talent for organizing and is hard working.
But she gets extra credit for her mission; understanding her clients needs for change and facilitating those changes through her excellent organizing skills. After the first visit there is already a difference and my home is a happier, more comfortable and more organized place. "It's not until I work with my clients, do they see the real and lasting value in what I can help them accomplish, not just with the time we spend together but long into the future, but if I don't get to work with them, the cost can seem high, but maybe the cost mentally is too high as well....I love what I do, but I also understand that not everybody that needs my help can afford it."

I had called Mel to help organize a house I had recently moved into -- there were many boxes still packed, and everything was helter-skelter. I learned about Archer Organizing on Angie's list, and since they were so well rated I decided to try them out. At the time I had never used an organizing company, and I wondered just how careful and thorough they would actually be -- I must admit, I need not have worried, Mel and her team were excellent. They unpacked everything, and with minimal guidance they placed everything into organized and logical spaces (I could have given more input if I wanted to, but I personally hate organizing things). They also re-did the space I had available, adding new cabinets and shelves to increase efficiency.
The biggest (and more unexpected) help, though, was how Mel walked me through actually sitting down and organizing the 5 or 6 big black garbage bags of papers we had collected over years. It was the hardest part, but I was able to do it with Mel's help -- I definitely would never have made it without her! Now all those papers are either thrown out or organized in neat filing cabinets. It took Mel and her team a few trips because of the size of the house (which did increase the cost, although it was definitely worth it).
Overall, it was a great pleasure to get to know Mel and have her team come in to do this work, and I will probably end up calling upon them in the future.

When I was first getting to know Melanie, we discovered that her aunt was already a good friend of mine. I did not know this about Melanie, as I had just selected her based on high Angie's List ratings. This discovery did help to put me at ease with her. Overall, she came in and got to work right away. She works diligently without taking any breaks, excexpt an occasional trip to the bathroom. Those sidetracks are short, and Melanie is able to pick up where she left off and just keep working. She will get the garbage ready for garbage day, and after the work at my house is done she will take the carloads of donation items to the thrift store. She keeps an inventory of the items to be donated, so the IRS will have good records. When we are done, I pay her, and we set the next appointment, as I still have a lot to do. That list is surely shrinking, as long as I have Melanie to help. Bottom line? I WILL CONTINUE TO HIRE HER AS LONG AS I NEED THE SERVICES SHE PROVIDE. PERIOD.

Melanie turned out to be a godsend. She had everything unpacked and put away by the time I got home at 5:00 p.m. I was looking for an item she unpacked, and she instantly remembered where it was when I called. She showed me how to organize my home, so I would not accumulate things in the future. I cannot say enough about how excellent she was, and I wish I could keep her all to myself.

I called Melanie to help me get my house organized. I have a tendancy to just put things anywhere and never really had places for things, from my kitchen to my garage. Melanie has been to my house twice so far, for seven hours the first time and six hours the second time and we have accomplished so much. She is great at understanding the emotional baggage connected with messiness and helps you to find a way of organizing that will fit your lifestyle. She helps you get rid of the things you don't need, but doesn't push you too much if you really want to keep something. Price listed is for 13 hours of work. I would recommend Melanie to anyone looking to get organized!

The price bothers me, but she is able to do more than a traditional cleaning service. Melanie truly enjoys organizing my home, and I find this to be a great positive. I sit with her while she organizes to give my opinions. She is pleasant company, and has a good sense of humor. She has a great knowhow, mentality for the skill, and a positive attitude. Also, my things don?t go to waste. Melanie networks with different companies, such as Goodwill, to make sure that my reusable items are in fact reused. She hauls away items for free, and never pressures me to get rid of anything. I think she is customer oriented, and scheduling is always very smooth with her. I would recommend her to others.

Melanie knows exactly what needs to be done and how to accomplish it in an efficient and timely manner. All the decisions were mine. She never pushed me to give up things with sentimental value and helped me prioritize the things that were most important and precious to me. Now I can find things that I used to buy two or three of because I'd misplace them and have to keep getting more... more of what I already had! Being rid of all the clutter has not just helped me to run my household more smoothly, but to also feel a greater sense of calm and serenity when I'm home. I can enjoy things with my children that I couldn't before, because I always felt like I had too many things to do. I feel more in control and find it easier to maintain a routine of consistent housekeeping because I'm no longer overwhelmed. Finally doing something about all the mess has given me the time to do things and pursue the activities that mean something to me and my family. I'll never regret hiring Melanie. It's been nothing short of life changing!

Melanie is the consummate professional and makes what can be otherwise daunting and overwhelming really fun, fast and super productive. I did a test project with her and I am now using her on larger scale projects. I highly recommend her.

We have been working together for about 2 months now, one morning a week, and she is great. Really helpful, encouraging, always punctual, professional. We have cleaned out and organized 7 closets, a storage area and two rooms so far. My clothes are neatly hung and folded away. My shoes are all organized in one place. We went shopping to get some organizing supplies - some of which I didn't know existed - and they have really helped. I hope that we will be able to tackle the kitchen before Thanksgiving - it's going to be a big job. But it's such a great feeling to get rid of all the clutter! If/when we need some heavy lifting or a dumpster she will arrange that too. I would highly recommend her for anyone who needs help organizing their home or office.

They have been to my house 3 times 1-6, I can't say enough about the company. She is full of energy, gives positive vibes, strong, works the entire time and takes things into her own hands, if I'm not around to ask. She has wonderful ideas about organizing my place and she has all these resources where she can take all of my old and unused items. 2 garages full of boxes and junk is now whipped into shape. She is coming back again to continue the organizing. She also cleans, not house cleaning but cleans the areas she cleans up and organizes. She is just unbelievable and I can't say enough about her. My biggest thing about her, is I didn't want to throw anything away. She figured out a way to donate my things and also disposes of all materials that I don't want and can't use, in an environmentally friendly way, as well. I am very fussy and picky and she is just a ray of light in my eyes. $35 per hour but worth every minute!
