We called another, big-name HVAC company that came out and told us our entire HVAC system had "fried" and needed to be replaced and they would do it for only $10,000.  Not ones to bite at the first hook dangled in front of us, we called around to other HVAC companies.  We heard about Allstate Heating & Cooling from the electrician who had worked on our house and decided to call them.  They came out and went over our system completely and found that the electrical wiring that goes from the HVAC system to the thermostat had somehow been kicked loose along the stairwell.  They fixed this and our system works perfectly.  They told us had we replaced the entire HVAC system we still would have had the same problem because the problem was the wiring.  The big-name HVAC company just looked at our system, said it was old and fried and needed to be replaced, they really checked nothing out.  We are so happy that we called Allstate Heating.  They repaired the problem for $75.00 instead of the $10,000.00 the other company wanted.  They are now our "regular" HVAC company, we won't be calling anybody else!
