Allegheny Veterinary Associates is a top notch, caring and professional operation. Their staff is second to none. Dr. Chris and Nicki Crowson are absolutely compassionate, caring, and the top veterinarians in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. They saved 2 of my furbabies from bloat and I will be forever grateful. The last one being Brutus, my English Mastiff, pictured above. Bring your babies here for the best care!

Everyone here is fantastic. We have had our dog there a few times, for his annual exam and shots along with one time when he was sick. They always take him right away and treat him like he is their own dog. I would recommend this place to anyone.

They've just been very great for us. We've had to take our cats there and they've been very accommodating. It was a very positive experience. As far as I remember it was a rabies shot and it was pretty much the same price as anywhere else. We've had multiple cats so they give multiple cats discount too.

Dr. Nikki Crowe treats the animals. She is very compassionate and tries to stay on top of every thing the pets need. She sends postcards to remind me of the appointments. The checkup includes a check of their weight, a stool sample for worms, a nail trim and vaccination updates. The animals love her. I have a cat who does not like going to the vet but she is comfortable with this doctor. The dogs look forward to going to her. She spends time with the family members of the patients to make sure we understand what the animals need. I have a cat who is 17years old. She and I have been through some tough times together and I really love her. Everyday I hope she lives another day. She has had cancer for the last 3 years. Dr. Nikki takes good care of her. She is expensive but the care she gives the animals makes it worth it.

Wonderful. Nicki is very friendly and Chris is an excellent surgeon. I can always get my animals in promptly when there is a problem.

In May of 2006 we knew something was wrong with our cat. We took him to another clinic who we used for years. The Vet who saw him dismissed the symptoms and suggested that we have extensive testing done. They "thought" it might be cancer but felt they couldn't adequately diagnose it without further testing. On my way home from the Vet, I stopped in to see Doctors Crowson for the first time. They did a physical exam on him and told me he had a mass in his abdomen and it didn't look good. They gave me options which I talked over with my husband that night. We called them the next morning and scheduled surgery. He came through the surgery great and the doctors did warn us that the type of tumor he had would come back. We enjoyed him for another month before the tumors started to appear in his kidneys. We had to put him down to end his suffering and the doctors were crying with us. They had come to love him as much as we did over that last month. About a month later we adopted another boy from Animal Friends and took him in for his physical and shots. Turns out that Animal Friends had told us he was neutered, he was not, so they neutered him and charged Animal Friends for the service. We have four healthy, happy cats that see Doctors Crowson once a year for their shots.
