All Star Custom Kitchens

Just want to take a moment and leave a glowing review for Tom and the entire crew at All-Star Custom Kitchens. It took us a long time to find the right contractor. After a number of construction company estimates and meetings with interior designers, we found Tom. He gave us by far our most complete estimate, design, and drawings to help us envision our kitchen, which involved removing an entire wall as well as eliminating an odd half bathroom. This accommodated an almost completely new floor plan which tripled our kitchen size and moved our dining room. I honestly can’t think of any criticisms throughout the whole process. Tom was honest and fair, the project was completed quickly to the highest of standards, and the cabinets we ended up going with are perfect. There were also multiple contractors Tom helped collaborate with including custom wood to match our existing 1940s floors and a tile backsplash that is just exquisite. I would 100% recommend All-Star Custom Kitchens!

Probably the best contractor we have brought into our home. His team was courteous, hard-working, and skilled. They kept their work moving on schedule if not ahead of it, and their installations are top-notch, sturdy, high-quality selections. Every vendor Tom referred me to was delighted to work with me and Tom, when I said Tom told me to call, every one of them lit up and moved me to the head of their lines. It was unbelievable. How? Because Tom treats his people well, including vendors he brings into a job. In fact, my neighbor told me that she was listening to the guys talking one day while I was out and the windows were open, and she said the contractor (Tom) was so respectful and nice in how he spoke with every worker. He respected our property and constantly asked for our input so there were no surprises. Sure, there were challenges as there are in any major home improvement project, but we were on speed dial from Tom at every step of the way, and every decision was clear to us and made with our input. He finished right on budget and earlier than he said. I still can't believe our luck to have had the pleasure of working with Tom and his All Star Custom Kitchens crew.

I had no personal referrals on kitchen contractors and, therefore, relied completely on what I researched online. I kept coming back to All Star Custom Kitchens. The reviews they received from their previous customers were amazing. I decided to take a leap of faith and contract with All Star Custom Kitchens and I am so glad I did! Tom and his crew did a wonderful job. They gave me a beautiful new kitchen that far exceeded my expectations. Tom delivered on everything he said he would...from the first meeting through to completion. The project went incredibly smooth. Communication was excellent. Crew was incredible to work with. Tom responded to our initial inquiry for a kitchen remodel quote almost immediately when countless others didn't. After he visited our home, he quickly provided us a detailed floor plan for our review. After that, the contract and payment details he presented were very straightforward and easy to understand. He has a show room at his house complete with cabinet and hardware samples that were easy to choose from. Tom has his process down to a science and virtually everything he did was right on point with his eatimated timeline. Basically each week was a new step in the process (sometimes quicker than that). He went out of his way for us many, many times because there was a mutual respect and ease of working with one another. He and his guys were always on time, professional and very personable. They also ensured things were cleaned up very well at the end of each day. We now have brand new, custom-made Amish cabinets that will last forever. Also, thanks to Tom and the other contractors and businesses he works with, we have beautiful new granite countertops, appliances, fireplace and flooring. A note about that, you know you're working with the right contractor when those other businesses have nothing but great things to say about him. Tom and his guys also removed two walls to create an open concept for us. It was incredible how easily this was accomplished. All told, the whole remodel took about about six weeks total. I cannot say enough good things about All Star Kitchens! Everything about our kitchen remodel experience has been a delight. Starting with our first meeting with the owner, Tom, the process progressed seamlessly. All Star Kitchens truly delivered on their promise of high quality cabinetry, superior workmanship, timely installation, courteous employees, and constant communication with the customer. We never felt like we were being left out of the loop. Tom was on the job every day and was always not more than a text or phone call away. His response time was always same-day, and most times within the hour. This was our first major renovation, and as such we were a little nervous going into it, especially after some of the home remodeling horror stories we had heard. Tom and his team's work and attention to detail was outstanding. All the jobs came out perfect and his people were careful not to nick up hardwood floors, walls, doors during the remodeling process. It was probably the worst time to kick off a work project, right at the height of the covid pandemic. Even through that, Tom and his guys were punctual, professional, and even fun to have around. We are glad that we hired him to do our project.

It's difficult to describe how pleased we are with our fully remodeled kitchen and the work of Tom and his crew. From our initial contact with All Star Custom Kitchens through the fine screw in the final switch plate, Tom was a joy to work with. We had sketched out some rough ideas of what we wanted to have done, and Tom was able to take these ideas and, after several consultations, turn them into a beautiful and much more functional kitchen that has transformed our home. For any service that Tom couldn't directly provide, he put us in touch with experts who were professional and excellent at their craft. I've heard from so many who complain about contractors and the many delays they face when completing a remodel--Tom set a timeline in the era of coronavirus at five weeks, which we thought was optimistic, but he and his crew were done five days short of that. Each member of his crew was courteous, helpful, kind, and patiently answered every question. I can't recommend All Star Custom Kitchens highly enough. You can begin and end your search for a kitchen contractor with Tom.

Even during a difficult time with work restrictions due to the Covid virus, Tom and his crew were efficient and kept to their word on schedules and completion of the project. After watching neighbors deal with remodel schedules taking months to complete, we were skeptical when Tom presented us with a new kitchen design and said the work would be completed in 4 weeks. He kept his word and the neighbors are in shock at the timing and quality of the work that was done. We are thrilled with the design he presented and our new 5' x 4' island with plenty of cabinet space. The crew was always informative and friendly advising us of decisions that would be needed and providing recommendations for countertops, etc. Do your homework to select appliances that work for you. We had been discussing and saving up for a major kitchen remodel for a while. I found All-Star Custom Kitchens' information on Angie's List and we met Tom Gogal, the owner, and saw some examples of his work at the Pittsburgh Home Show. Tom came to our home personally to take measurements and talk to us about what we wanted to do. The plans that Tom came up with were exactly what we were looking for. Tom and his crew did an excellent job from beginning to end. We had a rather extensive kitchen remodel which included removing a wall between the kitchen and dining room, removing and replacing the ceiling in the family room, kitchen, and dining room, running new wiring for a light fixture in the living room, and basically gutting our old kitchen and installing new custom Amish made cabinets and granite counter tops. In addition, they installed a new vanity, sink, and hardware in our half-bathroom, and painted it. Tom was on-site personally almost every day. The crew was on schedule or ahead of schedule the entire time. They left the area as clean as possible every day. Tom did an excellent job of communicating with us every day to keep us updated about what they were doing and how the job was progressing. The new kitchen is stunning. Everyone who has seen it in person or seen pictures of it are absolutely blown away by how beautiful it looks. Based on the pictures that we saw on Tom's website, our expectations for this job were very high, and all I can say is that Tom exceeded those expectations in every way.

I have only great things to say about Tom Gogol and his team regarding the remodel of our kitchen. It took a long time to find a contractor like Tom and I’m glad we did. I can’t imagine the project going any better than it did. Tom was great to work with in the planning period. Tom made great suggestions such as replacing our pantry with a much larger and useful floor to ceiling pantry which turned out great, giving us a lot more storage. Tom showed up as promised on construction day. His crews were friendly, polite, and always showed up on time. We found some issues behind the walls during demo but Tom and his crew dealt with it and worked with us to have the costs and issues minimized. They worked with us to keep the impact of construction minimal- our laundry room (attached to our kitchen) was still usable and they moved our fridge and microwave so that they were still usable. Furthermore, we asked Tom to address some electrical issues that were not in the original scope of the project. He did the work, giving us great solutions, which helped make our new kitchen more functional. We are thrilled the quality and workmanship of our new cabinets. The cabinet installation went very quickly. Tom was also able to hide a vent pipe in the bulk head in the cabinets (advantage of custom cabinets). The trim work around the cabinets looks beautiful! For our flooring, we worked on Tom’s recommendation with Kathy Piccoli of International Floor Coverings in Wexford. Tom and Kathy coordinated the timing of the floor install after the cabinets were in with minimal need for me to get involved. Tom’s crew painted both our kitchen and adjoining family room. Finally, we worked with Tom to have Cambria Quartz installed which really finished our kitchen. Needless to say, we are thrilled with our new kitchen! We highly recommend Tom and All-Star Kitchen!!!

I was very happy with the quality of the cabinets and the quality of the work. Tom is skilled, knowledgeable, responsive and reliable and goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. He also started and finished the job in the time frame that we agreed, I would engage him for future projects as well as recommend him to my friends.

We replaced the original oak builder grade cabinets with custom Amish built cabinets painted white, replaced the cooktop, ovens, faucet, disposal and sink, replaced the original formica countertops with granite, kept the tile floor but thoroughly cleaned the floor and renewed the grout, and installed under cabinet lighting. A review of our electrical system indicated the need for a new electrical panel, which was separately subcontracted. Tom and his crew were fantastic; we couldn't be more pleased. They were on site and working throughout this project and did careful, professional work. In 40 years, this is the only major house project we have done that actually was completed on time. The quality of the Amish-built cabinets is top notch, Tom and his crew took care to check the work of all sub-contractors, Tom considered our needs and requests, which were numerous, and offered advice throughout the planning and finishing processes. His suggestions were always thoughtful and on point. I have finally decided on a backsplash and look forward to Tom coming back to complete that work. So far so good, 75% completed, he is on schedule with minimal overages. Tom is very detail oriented which is a great feature to have in this business. He was not as expensive as originally anticipated after our meeting, which was great.

I can't begin to explain how grateful we are to Tom and his team for the excellent work performed during this remodel. I've been a member of Angie's List for 12 years and Tom is, by far, the most professional person that we have ever used for services. When I first inquired about his services, Tom was available for an estimate within 2 days. He predicted that the remodel would take, from start to finish, 4-6 weeks. If not for a delay in the granite (not his fault), the total time for the project would have taken 4 weeks. Not only is Tom (and his team) very reliable and professional, he also responds to texts and phone calls faster than any contractor that we've ever met. It was not uncommon for Tom to return messages within minutes, even on weekends. The cabinets are custom made Amish cabinets and the craftsmanship is the best on the market. As you can see from the photos, the makeover was amazing and we couldn't have been more happy about the transformation. I could go on for several more paragraphs about Tom and have already referred him to several friends.

We were very pleased with Tom. He had great ideas for our kitchen and we are extremely pleased with everything he did. He did a great job coordinating with the flooring company, granite company and everything went smoothly. We love the amish cabinets. They are a great quality! I know several people that he has remodeled kitchens for and know that they are all extremely happy with the end results.

I am very pleased with the work that Tom and his team did with our kitchen renovation project.  He hired qualified contractors to work along with him and the overall team did an excellent job. His team was polite, on time, cleaned up at the end of the day and provided quality workmanship. 

Our kitchen renovation was a 6 week project that started in the beginning of November and overlapped with Thanksgiving (we knew this going into the project) and finished mid December.   The timeline that he put forth in the beginning was met and 6 weeks later, we had a new kitchen. 

The cabinets that he installs are top of the line and we have been very pleased with them. The benefits of using these type of cabinets are that a) they are high quality and b) you can have them custom made for the specifics of your kitchen.   This was very helpful in our case due to the dimensions of our kitchen and the fact that we wanted to add an island into the space.   Tom will follow all code requirements (as he should) and due to the fact that he uses a custom build cabinet maker, we could design the cabinets to be the dimensions we needed.  Because of this, we had just enough space that we were able to fit a small kitchen island into our footprint as well as a much needed pantry and still stay within code.   The other contractors we spoke with were not able to do this because they did not have the option of custom cabinetry (or if they had that option, it was outrageously expensive).  I can’t rave enough about the new cabinets in my kitchen.

Our kitchen desperately needed redone and I waited a long time to finally pull the trigger to hire someone to do it  for fear of hiring the wrong contractor.  Any kitchen renovation will be stressful (you have to make a lot of decisions in a short period of time which can be challenging and I had to live without a sink for 4+ weeks) but in the end, I was pleased with the work provided by All Star Custom Kitchens.   Six months later, we have not had one problem with the work or the installation that Tom and his team did  and would recommend them to others.

 

Tom Gogal and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with. We wanted to completely replace the cabinets and counters in our kitchen, and also cut out a wall to install a breakfast bar area. We had received several other quotes, but for the quality of the work and the professionalism employed by Tom and his workers, we don't regret paying the minor difference in price. From the first time we met him, Tom was extremely helpful in listening to our ideas and suggesting ways to accomplish our goals, and the results are amazing. The work took a little longer than we expected (we were told at the beginning that it would only take 2 weeks - we have a smaller kitchen), but honestly we didn't mind once we began to see the results - and the reason for the delay was simply because the granite company needed to measure the cabinets after being installed to make sure the countertops fit perfectly. The cabinets are the best quality we have ever seen in any kitchen, and the counters are beautiful. We went with an off-the-shelf Pergo XP flooring, but Tom gave us great advice in choosing the right floor for our kitchen, and his team installed it perfectly.  Tom and his workers showed up promptly when they said they would show up, and always made sure to clean up their work area before they left every day. When finishing the walls, we were prepared for dust to cover everything, but they took such care to minimize the dust level that we didn't even have to dust off the table in the next room. Any time we had any questions, Tom was quick to respond via text message or phone call if needed. We would not hesitate in the slightest to recommend Tom Gogal and All Star Custom Kitchens!
