When he did arrive again he explained that a computer part was needed for the unit. He gave no receipt, no paperwork of any kind. I then had to place several calls into Ace to try and figure out what was going on with the status. Did the part need to be ordered? Did they have it in stock? Did the repairman even place the call to order the part yet? This took about 11 business days to figure out. The secretary at Ace was absolutely no help. She seemed incredibly unorganized, although perhaps that's a symptom of the company as a whole. The average phone call was roughly 12 minutes figuring out who I was, what my name was, what my address is, the name of the repairman that came out (remember he didn't leave any paperwork), and what the status of the repair ticket was.
Finally the part is in! Nov. 30th I called (because they've never called me) to ask about the status and get a time scheduled for an appointment. We agreed upon Dec. 1 from 9am-12pm. It's currently 12:56 and I haven't heard anything - and of course after trying to call them back I only get an answering machine.
Will these guys ever show up? Who knows? Perhaps I'll post an update if and when they do.
Until then, use another company. Your blood pressure will thank you.
The service was needed for the gas dryer. After dryer was on for a short time, we began smelling gas. When checked, the clothing was not drying and when the dryer was turned off there was no more smell of gas. The first day the technician changed the coils and started to clean the vent. The vent is exceptionally long and elbowed and he was not able to complete the cleaning with the equipment he had. Two technicians returned the next day to finish the cleaning.
I have had lots of dealings with repair people in the past and this was the best I have ever had, I truly appreciated the phone calls to
keep me informed. I wrote this review the same day as the washer was repaired but for some reason it was not publisher right away.
All in all a very positive experience.
My service was excellent and I would highly recommend Ace Appliance Repair.
When I called for service, I reviewed the symptom's of the problem with Mr. Fazio and he knew exactly what was wrong and scheduled a next day appointment. He arrived on time for the appointment and was very courteous and professional during his visit, and my oven was fixed within minutes. I was impressed that he took the time to explain what he was doing to fix the problem. He was respectful of my home and cleaned up after the repair.
I will use his company in the future and will recommend ACE Appliance Repair to others. Many thanks to Mr. Fazio!
It went really well. They explained what was wrong and even gave me advice on how to handle the product customer service agent. I would highly recommend Ace!
At 2:00pm "Joe " appeared as promised, & promptly replaced the dryer belt
The reports on Angie's list quoted a much lower price, so I was surprised at the fee. $90.00 service call, & &20.00 for the part.. I had to use a credit card as I never keep much cash around. I'm glad Joe was willing to accept that form of payment.
It tied up most of my day, & I had to cancel plans, but all is well, & my dryer is now functional.
Arrived on time and was very personable.
He turned on my refrigerator which had been shut off when it stopped working.
We watched the inside coils to see if they would frost over.
When they did not he said I have a bad compressor and he does not work on closed systems.
He recommended Tommy's Service if I wished to replace the compressor but he cautioned that replacement compressors never work as well as the original. He said I should probably buy a new refrigerator and he could get me a good price.
I was charged $50.00 which he indicated was $10 off his regular price.
The cost to replace the kitchenaid built in is over $7000.00.
I called Tommy's Service and inquired about the cost of replacing the compressor. They quoted me $1000.00. So I ordered the new compressor.
When the compressor came in - Russ from Tommy's Service came to do the replacement. He suggested that he first make sure my compressor is bad. He said there is no way to tell if the compressor is bad without checking the pressures.
He checked with pressure gauges and found the refrigerant was very low but that my compressor is not bad. He felt there must be a leak in the coil. He did further diagnostics and discovered there is no leak but a loose valve on the coil. He tightened the valve and replaced the refrigerant. The charge was $185.00.
If Ace would have told me up front that he does not work on closed systems I could have saved $50 and about 10 days of living with no refrigerator.
