I filled out a contact form over the Martin Luther King weekend wanting to hire a decorator.      She called late afternoon on 1/21/14 and I was unable to talk at that time which I informed her.    She told me she was busy that night and could she call me back the next day to discuss our project.       It is 1/27/14 and I never heard back.     If you are too busy to take on another client please just tell me right away so you are not wasting my time and I am not wasting your time.

We were able to get a highly discount Bosch dishwasher through her.  She also performed a lot of research on the internet to help us get the lighting (ceiling mounted light and a very unique hanging light for above the sink) we wanted in our kitchen.  She had great recommendations, her prices seemed reasonable and the timeline went pretty much on schedule.  She was fantastic and a lot of fun to work with.

We hired Amy to help us pick out paint colors for our new townhome that we are building.
We walked room by room told her what we liked and she added her suggestions.
The ideas she came up with were fantastic, my wife and I were 100% satisfied with her
services and plan on using her again once the house is painted  to help us with some
other design ideas.

Amy is awesome, very good at what she does. We have a grwoing family of 4 kids and she gave us a timeless functional design within our budget. Her contacts of furniture and material more than saved the fee for her services. She worked on our schedule and budget meeting us times convient for us. Fantastic experience.

Amy responded to our inquiry promptly, arrived punctually on the agreed upon date and was totally professional yet very personable. We went with her selections and had our apartment painted. The colors made a wonderful improvent. In every light the colors blend with our decor and tastes. We're still working on accent pieces and draperies but are confident her ideas will be incorporated seamlessly.

Amy is a consummate professional.......exceptionally straightforward with her advice based on her strong listening skills.  Our home is Victorian which fell outside of her usual consultation on contemporary decor.  Not a problem.....she listened extremely well to our needs and proceeded to systematically go from room to room with us sharing her recommendations.  We intend to incorporate most of her ideas into our final choices.

She is very good. She is responsible, prompt and knowledgeable. She is positive and a real professional. She is excellent.

Neither my wife or me ever thought we were the kind of people to need (or want) an interior designer for our home. I found Accents by Amy originally in 2004 by doing a web search when the renovations we contemplated to our original home just seemed too extensive for us to do ourselves. Amy came to our home and interviewed us regarding all of our needs, wants, etc. We discussed the plan extensively, including many references to our individual interests and preferences. The scope of the original project was to renovate two bedrooms, making one a nursery and the other a home office.

We could not have been prepared for the outstanding job Amy did with her design plans. She came back to our home at the appointed time and laid out her design recommendations which included furniture, carpeting, paint colors, molding, accent pieces, window treatments, and more. The plan included everything! She incorporated our personal interests and tastes in incredible and unexpected ways. I could go on and on with examples, but I'll share one which will serve as an excellent example of Amy's philosophy of designing to people's personal interests and tastes.

I wanted a very small table in my new home office, a work area just large enough to hold a laptop and some papers. I suppose an average designer would have just told me to go to Target or go online and buy a table. A good designer would have done the research for me and just showed me a few tables to choose from. And then there is Amy!!! She came up with the unbelievable idea of creating a custom table. But not just any table. She suggested that we could take part of a large, downed tree from her family's camping property, have it cut to the appropriate height, have a specialist (who she knew) lacquer the tree trunk to a beautiful color, and then have a another specialist (who she also knew) cut a round, custom glass top for the table. She did this all because I love the outdoors and was looking to "bring the outdoors inside." The table is now the centerpiece of my home office. The entire table only cost me about $250. Wow and double wow.

There were other outstanding elements of this home office project that were special, including a wall-to-wall custom, built in shelving unit. The entire office was just so much more than I could have imagined. Most importantly, it was "me."

My wife was equally thrilled with the amazing nursery that Amy created. This room was for our first child and so it was very special for us both. Amy created a wonderful space that was beautiful, warm and nurturing. We have since moved into a new home, but my wife still misses that very special space that Amy designed for us.

In our new home, Amy has helped us to plan the space, buy throw rugs, choose wall hangings and more. Amy has become such an important part of designing our personal living space that we hardly hang a picture without calling her first.

After working with Amy for the last 8 years or so, I couldn't imagine a better designer to work with. She's prompt, professional, reasonably priced, full of great ideas, respectful of our money/budget, and very interested in creating a design that is suited exactly for us. Thank you Amy!

This is the second time I used Amy.  Love her.  I contacted her on a Tuesday about needing some expert advice on furniture layout, color. decor. etc. of a living room.  She called me back right away and she came to my home within a few days.  She arrived at the specified time and went to work.   We went over the space together I told what I wanted (or thought I wanted) and she walked me through every detail leaving no stone unturned and answered all of my questions,as well as my husband's.  She took meausurements, told me what to purchase, she made suggestions and most importantly told what not to do in the room.  If you need help with decoratiing and need an expert  opinion, call Amy.  She will not steer you wrong and won't suggest something out landish just for the sake of spending money.

Amy was great.  She walked me through how I should going about designing three rooms.  I think that she actually did more teaching than designing.  She offered a lot of helpful information including, but not limited to, sizes of furniture, tables and area rugs, color schemes, places to buy (at all price levels).  A few days after the consultation, she sent me an email summary for each room.

After just purchasing a new house, I called Amy to help with the design. She was easy to contact, and quickly scheduled a visit at an off-time to accommodate my work schedule. She listened closely to the ways that I wanted to use the room. I tend to have trouble describing what designs I like, but I know them when I see them. Amy would find things that seemed to fit me perfectly, even though I wasn't sure how she knew. She has a great way of finding several different choices, then helping making the final decision. She guided the re-decorating from the beginning to the end, helping to call furniture makers and others to ensure that everything was being done on time. I would recommend Amy whole-heatedly to anyone.

I called Amy and she returned my call within a couple of days. I was so anxious to meet her! I wanted her decorating advice on a foyer, dining room and kids room. I must admit I was prepared and had a list of questions for her. She came to my house and we went through each room and she pointed out things she would do and things she would change. She gave me many ideas and suggestions. She was at my hour almost two hours. She is awesome. She is not at all a snobby decorator type. She isn't going to suggest to purchase off the wall things that cost a fortune. I will use her again for other rooms.

Overall it was a very good experience. She was punctual and gave good suggestions. I would definately use her services again.

She has an excellent eye and explains the reasons for her opinions. This was the second time we used her. She had also helped me coordinate my children's bedrooms' paint, carpeting, etc. previously.

Amy is very easy to work with. I called her and set up an appointment. She arrived on time and stayed for about 2 hrs and 45 minutes. She charges by the hour ($75.00). We first worked on the attic space to help me finish it off and the 2nd project was from bare walls out. She stays in touch with you via e-mail and will stay with you for the duration of the project. She asks you what you want the space to be and helps you achieve the look & feel you want. She will design new spaces or help you re-purpose old ones. I am very glad I found her since I had hit a wall (figuratively) in my total home re-decoration project!

After spending hours researching interior designers/decorators online, I was most impressed with Amy's website. I contacted her and asked if she provided consultation-only services, since I would like to do as much of the actual decorating as I can. When she replied to my inquiry, she said she offers full-service decorating or consultation - whatever the clients needs. Amy arrived promptly for our appointment, and I was immediately comfortable with her easy-going and honest approach. She spent several hours asking questions about my vision for my home and listening to my answers. She was open to my likes and dislikes and did not make me feel intimidated, rushed, or pushed in any direction (as I had feared I would by hiring an interior designer/decorator). She gave me fantastic advice on how to improve each room (wall color, furniture sizes and placement, lighting, sizes and shapes of wall decor, window treatments, accent pieces, etc.), and she set me on the right track to achieving my goals. I had several projects started at once, and she provided me the focus to choose a room to finish first. Based on her insight, I chose to finish the kitchen. She helped me select a paint color that I absolutely love. Despite my preconceived notions, the color she chose works in my small space for all the reasons she said it would. Upon finishing my kitchen project, I referred to the pages of notes I took during her visit and found the courage to purchase window treatments for my living/dining room. Again, her expertise was spot-on. I absolutely love my new drapes, and my husband does, too! Throughout the process, Amy has been available to me via email when I have questions about certain purchases. Her guidance is helping me to create rooms in my home that are comfortable, sophisticated, and inviting. As a result, I am gaining decorating confidence and knowledge along the way. Amy is wonderful, and I am so thrilled with the results so far. I am looking forward to continued consultation with her as I tackle each room. I would recommend Accents by Amy to anyone!
