1-800-GOT-JUNK?

The guys were polite, professional, and very quick.  They were concerned that everything I wanted removed was gone and that they left the area broom clean (including the driveway).
The only issue I have was the cost--for less than two hours of work and about half a truck full it was $450.  That may be going rate, but it just seemed very high to me.
Regardless, they were quick, timely and did a great job.

They were punctual, helpful, polite and efficient. They were also very nice.

Men arrived as scheduled. Removed items quickly and were very accomodating. Cleaned up when finished.

They showed up on time with a partially filled truck.  There was a full truck's worth of junk in the garage of the vacant home to be removed, so the crew had to leave and come back.  This wouldn't have been a big deal if the local landfill had Sat. hours but they don't, so the crew took the load to the other side of town (90+ min. round trip), returning with an empty truck to complete the job.  The job was scheduled well enough in advance that the inaccessibility of the local dump on Saturday could have been brought to my attention, because that seemingly minor detail lengthened the time I had to spend on-site.  Again, not a major deal, but it was a bit pricey to begin with (IMHO), and I may have rescheduled to work around the dump's hours.  Not enough of an issue that it was problematic, but I'll certainly shop around a little more for the next load to at least see what other haulers cost in comparison.
Other than those minor points, they did a great job.

EDIT:  Spoke with Jeremy @ 1-800-GOT-JUNK relative to this review, and he assured me that the crew's having to leave and return did not affect the price and that the pricing structure is based purely on volume.  I've amended this review to remove the erroneous information.  I've also upgraded the overall rating for this experience.  FYI - If you're considering using this service and you're unsure of the volume of material to be removed, I recommend you request that they arrive with an empty truck.

1-800-GOT-JUNK?  is an AMAZING service provider.  The time and energy that they save you is INVALUABLE!!  I have hired this service three times since July 2011, and every time it has been a GREAT experience!!  The work crew shows up with the best and brightest of attitudes,  and continually strives throughout  their time with you to provide excellent customer service!!   I have been impressed every time, but the last time, on 10/24/2012,  I was AMAZED!!  As per usual, the guys (this last time, Dayvon and Greg), cleared the house and loaded a truckload of stuff in less than two hours.  I was left with one last room to clear, that was full of personal mail mixed with magazines and papers, that needed sorted out before I could throw stuff away.  These guys offered to help me clear this room, stating, "That's what we do".  Dayvon and Greg got down on their hands and knees and helped me sort through a LARGE pile of paper-stuff on the floor,  which took about 20 minutes or less.  If I had done this myself, it could have taken a couple of hours. WOW!!!  The TIME AND ENERGY that this service saved me was worth every single dollar it cost, and more!!  These people provide an INVALUABLE service.  When you call to schedule an appointment, the person you speak with is always  professional and courteous.  They provide you an email and phone call to confirm your appointment.  You receive a call about a half -hour before they arrive, which is on time.  When these guys arrive to haul away your junk, you don't have to lift anything; you just let them know what needs to go.  Their customer service is OUTSTANDING!!!  My sincere and heartfelt THANK  YOU!!  to 1-800-GOT-JUNK?  for enabling me to prepare my house for 'closing'.

We were emptying a house that had been lived in for 54 years.  We didn't realize until the morning of 10/13 that we could really use someone to come and dump a lot of things.  We called 1-800-Got-Junk, and they made an appointment for the same day. They were running late because one of their trucks had some trouble, but they kept in touch with us by phone the whole time until they could get there. Three professional young men came and  they worked extremely hard when they got to the house, and were done, swept clean within 2 hours.

The company was very well organized and very punctual. They made three calls prior to arrival, to confirm the appointment and to confirm their arrival time, which was spot on. Dave and Chris were very courteous and well mannered. They took great care in making sure they hauled away the items and offered to clean up afterwards.

My daughter had to move to Ohio for her job and she didn't want to take her overstuffed living room furniture that had been ruined by her cats.  We contacted 1-800-GOT-JUNK and arranged to them to come to her apartment and give us an estimate of the cost.  Since they charge by how much room the furniture takes up on their truck, they said they would come and give us an estimate of the cost and then, if we thought it was too much money, there would be no charge and they would simply leave but if we agreed on the price they would take it right then.  So I set up an appointment and then completely forgot about it until they called me to let me know they were at my daughter's apartment.  I felt terrible but they were not at all upset and we simply rescheduled.  The day they did come, we were packing up the apartment and had boxes everywhere.  They gave us an estimate which seemed reasonable and then proceeded to carry out the furniture.  After they had it all loaded onto the truck they lowered the price because it didn't take up as much room as they initially thought it would.  Then they even offered to help us with anything else we might need.  We had a flat screen TV that we had to put into a box for the movers and my daughter and I didn't know how to take it apart to pack it.  The two guys took the TV apart and got it into the box for us!  THEN they offered to take some boxes and other junk we had stacked out in the hallway to the trash bin for us too!!!

We called the company on Sunday morning. They answered immediately. Told us that they could come out Monday morning which was Labor Day. They said that they would call between 7:00 am and 7:30 am on Monday which they did. When they called they said that they would be at our home in about 15 minutes, which they were. They had 3 men that came in and removed the television. They scratched the wall with the tv and immediately offered 10% off of the charge, or they would have someone come out to repair the wall. We agreed to the 10%. These guys were great. Extremely professional. We would definitely recommend them to our family and friends.

I was very pleased with the entire process from beginning to end.  I called and set the appointment up the very same day.  The guys arrived probably 2 hrs after me calling.  The were very courteous and friendly.  The cleaned up everything that I needed cleaned up swept the floor and they made sure that any mess they made in the yard carrying things to the truck was picked up.  Absolutely wonderful.

I scheduled the pick-up online on Monday evening, and they were here Wednesday afternoon (our choice - it was our day off ) . They called several times to update the time of arrival, which we really appreciated. The 2 young men who came were polite, quick, and efficient.  We were given an estimate up front which was very reasonable, and then the final total ended up being even less, with our AAA discount.  We were absolutely satisfied with the service, and would highly recommend  them to everyone.

We scheduled our appointment online a few days in advance and picked the time slot 2:00-4:00 PM. Because we are AAA members and this vendor participates in the AAA  member program, we scheduled our appointment through the AAA website and got a 10% discount.  As promised on the 1800GOTJUNK website, we were called 15 minutes before the 2:00 PM slot and were advised that the haulers would likely arrive between between 3:30-4:00 PM. We also received an email confirming this information. The haulers arrived about 3:30 PM and were very efficient and quite pleasant. Although the haulers would have picked up our items anywhere in the house,basement, or garage, we had our junk waiting for them at the top of our driveway to facilitate the process.  Upon arrival, the haulers assessed our items and reviewed a chart with us so we could see how much the job would cost in adavance.  Our items constituted about one quarter load of their truck.  We agreed to the price quote ($245 less 10% AAA discount) and within fifteen minutes, everything was loaded into the truck.  We were impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of the haulers and were satisfied with the price charged. We also liked the company's website, particularly the feature that allowed us to view various sized piles of "junk" so we could get a general idea of the price ahead of time.

 That morning I received a call that they would be there in 1/2 hour. Time given 8-10 am. To my joy they came in at 7:45.

I requested a pick up online and got an appointment the very next day. Two really nice guys in uniforms showed up on time and took away my old TV, which was too heavy for me to carry. According to their website, they recycle old electronics, which I appreciated becuase I didn't want it to just go into a landfill. I got a discount for making my appointment online. The guys were dressed in uniforms and were very friendly and polite; I had no qualms about inviting them into my home. All I had to do was point to my TV and -- voila! -- it was gone! Will be using them agains.

It was fast and efficient.  I liked the fact they came out the next morning after I called.

I called 2days before. Quick to respond.  Men arrived on time. Paid slightly more than estimate well worth it as took all of it.  Professional, friendly staff.

Everything was excellent. The two guys did a great job, and their price was very reasonable as they filled up an entire truck.

The team called prior to arriving, were right on schedule with the original time I had requested. Mike and Tom were super friendly, courteous, hard-working and super efficient. I was quoted an estimate for the work BEFORE they started, and it was pretty dead-on. I was amazed that they didn't even use a dolly for the large items. They completed the task in a very timely manner being careful not to knick anything on the way out. I paid with a credit card (they swiped it through a machine at their truck), and got a printed receipt. I also got another handwritten receipt detailing the job. I was concerned before the job if my credit card would be used in one of those old-fashioned credit card machines with a carbon copy, but I was assured by the woman who called the day before to confirm the pickup that it would be safe and secure. I would absolutely recommend 1-800-GOT-JUNK to anyone.

it went great. i'd been sorting into recyclables, trash, and donatables, but, during my confirmation call the day before they came, they told me i didn't even have to do that! so i just started piling the stuff up for them to take. they take care of the rest. i was thrilled!

I went on the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? website and "booked" a time for the crew to come out to my house to haul away the junk. I liked the fact that I could reserve it online (without having to talk on the telephone or wait for someone to answer/call back, etc.) [although, I believe you can telephone them to set an appointment time as well]. I only booked two days in advance and I selected an early Saturday time slot. My house had not been cleaned out in years (i.e., junk in the basement, etc.). I have never had anyone haul away junk before for me (nor have I had the experience for renting a dumpster). But, in any event, I received a call from the local Oakmont office (in Pittsburgh, PA). (My only gripe is that no message was left.) In any event, it was Karen (the contact person listed on Angie's List for the Oakmont location) and she was quite nice when I called her back. She explained to me that I would get a call at 6:30AM the next day directly from one of the guys that would be coming to my place to haul away the junk. She said that they will first give an estimate after looking at everything that needed to be hauled away and that there was an extra charge for tires. She then proceeded to obtain a list from me of the general items that needed to be hauled away. Sure enough, the next morning, I received a call at 6:33AM. It was one of the guys that was going to work at the site. He told me that they would be at my house at about 7:15AM. They were pretty much on time. 4 trucks showed up (ultimately, only 1 1/2 trucks were needed). The guys (I believe there were four, including "Tom" and "Scott") were very courteous, hard working, polite, etc. Fortunately, my job was not the "worst" they had seen and, in any event, they were very happy to do the work. They all wore heavy-duty gloves and picked up the items. They separated out the cardboard items (and these were recycled -- dropped off at the Construction Junction) and the other items. Certain trucks were to take certain things, etc. I was surprised that they did not have any pallets, dolleys, etc. but rather picked things up by hand and put things in large trash bags. (Maybe they could even be more efficient with some of these "tools"?) (But, they were very quick nonetheless.) They could not take away any detergent bottles or bleach bottles because they are not licensed to do so (as they explained). But, that was fine with me (since I could otherwise properly dispose of them). I was afraid that I would have to hire someone to clean up my basement, but they swept the basement fairly clean, too. This was a nice surprise. Near the end of the job, I was told to check everything to make sure everything was good. (Just about everything was in order.) I was told that they would not go over their estimate and they didn't. The "head" guy had written up the bill and it was for 1 1/4 truckloads plus a $15 surcharge ($5 each for 3 tires). (Tires, I guess, are a special item.) I was left a comment card and provided with three coupons for using them in the future (which I will). (One $10 coupon per pickup.) They also told me several times to check all the doors before I leave. I thought this was great because often people assume they've locked up when this really isn't the case. One additional note: while I selected "2.5 hours or more", they alotted for 2.5 hours. The actual job took 2 hours. (I was surprised that they didn't give themselves more of a window since I selected more than 2.5 hours, but I have no real complaints because the job took actually a little less time than I had anticipated.) (I did comparisons with a few other "providers" on Angies List that do junk hauling. I think that the 1800-got-junk? prices are comparable, if not more economical. Plus, I like that these guys do not mind hauling away anything and everything and they don't mind getting their hands dirty...and that they do clean up!)

They arrived on time and were friendly. Some water spilled and they offered to mop my floors. They even came back (after I had already paid them) to point out that I was over-charged, and then quoted me a new price.

They called ahead, were right on time, very friendly and honest. They cleaned up after they were done, remembered to give me my online reservation discount, etc. My only complaint is that it is expensive, relative to getting a dumpster (which you can crush down to any volume you want).

The price was reasonable. They were efficient, quick, and professional. I will use them again. They carted away what I wanted them to take and more.

1-800-Got-Junk was excellent. They were on time and worked very fast. They got everything cleaned up for me and then hauled it all away with no hassles or problems. This is a very handy service I plan to use again in the future.
