The contractor works on a time-and-materials schedule; his hourly rate is hugely inflated. He will not be pinned down to an estimate or a breakdown of costs. We were too trusting and ended up being charged much more than we'd anticipated. The contractor used his girlfriend as his assistant; her electrical work has had to be re-done in two locations. The contractor claims to be "certified" in multiple aspects of home renovation, and he is enthusiastic about design. He is, however, a bit of a con artist. For example, he met us at a big box store to select appliances; he implied that he was glad to help us as "friends." Then he charged us for this service. He also does not keep accurate records which resulted in double charges at times. Example: we bought two toilets on a credit card; two toilets also showed up on the contractor's bill as if he had purchased them. When asked to provide documentation, the contractor never provided it. The contractor also poor-mouthed to the extent that we gave him cash on at least two occasions. This cash was not deducted from his final bill. We severed our relationship with this character and want others to know that he is untrustworthy, unprofessional, and deserves to go out of business (again.) We know that he did business under another name, "Jack of All Trades," but had legal issues related to that and reorganized under this current name. Stay away!
