John is an Energizer bunny! It's nice to work with someone upbeat and positive. He took my scrappy little drawing of what I wanted, and made it into a reality. I couldn't afford any upgrades as my main concern was structural rather than esthetic, but I did want to turn a boring rectangular patio into something more interesting, so added a half-circle bump-out. John was happy that I knew what I wanted. He understood my concerns about needing to route rainwater away from my basement, and explained the fall needed to achieve that. He had an instant appreciation of everything I needed, and was above average in all his communications. He and his assistant worked really hard, and I learned that there were more stages to the job than I realized. Any changes that came up along the way were clearly communicated, mostly small additions to the square footage of concrete needed, as I increased the diameter of my half-circle. My only minor critical observation is that the new concrete pour was in two batches, and I have a slightly different second color sandwiched between the two sections of the first pour. There is also one section of framing still left between me and my neighbor's property- barely noticeable. Unfortunately my basement still gets wet in the rain- that's not John's fault- but my patio looks fantastic! It certainly adds value to my modest property. I may take the time to stain it in the future, which will disguise the color difference. Maybe I shouldn't have given a B for price, as I didn't get any other estimates to compare prices, however $4,000+ just feels like a lot of money! I am happy to recommend him despite that, and would hire him again.
Description of Work: John removed broken sections of side passage and completely removed old patio and back doorstep. He excavated the area I wanted to extend the new patio into, and poured all new concrete for me. He replaced a drain and a downspout that were integral to the patio, and formed a new back step to meet safety requirements. He made a good seal between the patio and my rear wall.

AWESOME!! John and his co-worker were were so nice to work with, clean, continually checked to make sure we were happy, on time and very reasonably priced. John did so well we plan on having him do more concrete work for us. Look no further, if you plan on only getting one estimate, this is one you don't want to pass over. Thanks again John and Team
Description of Work: John installed a 6'x6' pad on the side of a hill for my deck stringers to sit on and for my grill to sit on.

John is reliable, professional and efficient. He left no mess behind and his work has held up over time.
Description of Work: Demolition of solid concrete walls, sidewalk and and steps. We had new sidewalk poured and EP Henry block replacing concrete wall in front of our home. Enclosed foundation under back addition and repaired stucco. His man, Frank, was on the jackhamer for an entire day breaking up all that concrete. He was impressive. If John was delayed or couldn't come that day, which was rare, he always called. He kept us well informed as to his timetable which we really appreciated.
