After 8 1/2 days they had only completed part of the roof. The quality of the work was extremely poor, did not meet code, and was unsafe. The porch roof moved when you applied weight to it. We attempted to work with the company to address the issues. After inspecting the work in person, the owner, Scott Walsh, admitted the work was poor and said they would fix it. After two weeks of not returning emails and phone calls, we received an email from the owner demanding additional money before they would discuss fixing anything. Rafters were missing or were cut incorrectly and completely hanging or supported by the framing below by only a small portion of the rafter. Sheathing was cut short and did not end on rafters so 2x4's and pieces of 1/2" OSB sheathing was nailed to the side of the rafters to support the sheathing. The porch roof was in danger of falling off the house. Ledger boards were nailed rather than using ledger bolts or screws. No joist hangers or hurricane ties were used. The lack of fasteners used throughout combined with the poor workmanship made the work unsafe. Sheathing was cut wrong and overlapped other sheathing rather than laying flat against the rafters. Odd shaped scrap pieces of lumber and OSB pieces were nailed under the sheathing to try to support it. Rafters were installed too low and 1/2" OSB was attached to the top of the rafters to level it to the rest of the roof. This is only a partial list of the issues. A lot of what they did needed to be ripped out and replaced to bring up to code. Additional details and photos can be found at walshworkservicesucks.com Attaching a few pictures of the work completed. There are a lot more issues and pictures on the website. You have to see it to believe how bad the work was.
