Stephanie did a fantastic job identifying the problem right away and fixing it. She also addressed some issues we've been having with our desktop that we hadn't discussed before she came out. She is extremely knowledgeable, punctual, reasonably priced and very nice to work with. She will definitely be my go-to person in the future for all of my computer issues.

This was a many week process (about 16 hours overall of time together). She is very gifted at adjusting what she is telling you to match your ability to understand. I am very computer illiterate. She never overwhelmed me with things I could not understand. Instead she brought me along, teaching me basics, getting me comfortable with them, then adding new procedures to understand, being available to explain it again when I forgot something, and then building on that so I could understand more complex things. She also provided a great deal of guidance over how I should be thinking about the things I was trying to present so they would be appealing and effective in a site. She made many suggestions. Most led me to realize how wise they were, but when I disagreed she listened and matched to what I wanted. The point is you can discuss with her as the process unfolds. She was clearly extraordinarily knowledgeable about these things so mysterious to the rest of us, but she was never intimidating, just helpful. I really like the final result and now appreciate how much she had to know to make it happen. Occasionally her responsibilities to family interrupted the flow. But I did not have a crisis deadline, so it was no problem to me. Mostly I was amazed at how fast a request I had turned into a visible reality because of her efforts. Making a website requires an incredible array of skills, from technical computing skills, to artistic and media skills, to the interpersonal skills of dealing with a client. For me, she had them all. I see she got a bad review from someone, which I can only attribute to some misunderstanding that can occasionally arise in any business dealing. For me, I'm really happy. Very well! Steph had the computer repaired within a day, and the problem has not recurred in the four days since. She was friendly and knowledgeable, and encouraged me to call back if I had any issues or questions. I emailed her with one question about the temperature, and she responded promptly.
The only reason I gave one and quot;Band quot; in the responsiveness is that Steph was a little slow to respond to my initial call. She called quickly to acknowledge my call, but I didn't hear for a few days (3 I think). I learned that she had gotten sick. But once I reached her, she suggested that I bring the computer in, since it might take a while for the problem to occur, which wouldn't be efficient on a house call where I paid by the hour. That was wise, and as I reported, the repair was done within a day. The price of $87 was also quite reasonable, in my opinion.
I would use Stepknows again if I had a problem with either of my computers.

I have been using Stephanie Leahy for computer repair, trouble-shooting, installations and instructions for 3 years. She has been absolutely invaluable to us! She keeps impeccable notes of all her work on our equipment so that she remembers from one appointment to the next, one year to the next, what was done previously and what she did to repair our equipment. This is a huge help and saves her time when she is troubleshooting a problem. She is very fair in her estimates and pricing and in calculating her time. She is also very honest in her explanations of the problems and giving advice regarding what might be needed. I cannot imagine having a home computer and not having her here to help. When she was pregnant last year and so very unable to work, I took my laptop to her house occasionally because I needed her help so much. But then she was hospitalized and couldn't even think clearly so we were really lost without her! We are so glad and grateful that she is healthy and back to her amazing self!

She is fabulous. We have been using her for two months. If your printer doesn't work or you're having problems with your computer, call her. She charges around $50 an hour, which is middle range. We have had companies who charge much more that aren't very good. She works until she finds out what the problem is. She fixes the problem. She is knowledgeable, and she knows what she's doing. She is also a pleasant person to be around. She talks to us over the phone.

Stephanie has worked on my computer four times over the last 3 months. She has been wonderful. She is extremely responsive and has made time for me on the day I called, even Thanksgiving week when she had multiple deadlines. I had 20 viruses on my computer that kept reinstalling themselves. She got rid of the viruses and installed a firewall, which I did not have, as well as better antivirus software. Both are free. The firewall and antiviruses software have performed perfectly and prevented or removed many other virsues. She also helped me set up Outlook with me e-mail which has been wonderful. The other work has been around Internet access. My internet became very slow to the point of not working most likely because my cable provider realized I was using my own router and intentionally slowed down my service. Stpehanie cloned my router so the cable company could not detect it and it went back to working normally. Later, I had a problem in my computer that preventing my computer for communicating with the internet. Stephanie fixed that too. She has been a Godsend to me. I recently stopped working to be home with my infant son. After years of having tech support at work, I was at a loss of what to do with my computer problems. Stephanie responded right away, she has made multiple housecalls, and set up remote access to my computer. She shows me what to do if the problem should occur again. She is also very fair about what she charges. . Personally, she is delightful and funny, and my son really enjoys her.

Stepanie is extremely knowledgable. She arrived when she said she would and went right to work. She knew exactly what she was doing and was able to explain what she did so that even I could understand how to accomplish what I need to do. I feel lucky to have found someone that is competent, honest, and reasonable in her charges

We had two computers which were giving us trouble. One was extremely slow, and the other (on a Sun.) would not respond at all. We found Stepknows on Angie's List, called and spoke directly to Stephanie Leahy. She tried to troubleshoot our problem over the phone, but it became apparent that she needed to come out. She set up an immediate appointment for the next day. She arrived on time, and immediately tried to assess the problems with both computers. She was very pleasant and easy to talk to, she explained what she was trying to do every step along the way. She stayed at our home over three hours, and it became clear that our hard drive, CPU, needed a lot of work. She assessed our other computer, cleaned up the hard drive, and recommended more memory to help with the speed of the computer. She took the CPU home, worked on it fervently for a week, was able to disassemble and locate the problem. She rebuilt the CPU, ordered more memory for the other computer, and was back within the week to reinstall the CPU and the new memory. Within a half hour, our computers were working perfectly. She took the time to talk to us several times over the phone, and through email, to keep us up to date on how things were going. She followed up with us also, within a few weeks, to make sure the computers were doing okay and that we were happy. She was very professional, very fair with pricing, and very easy to work with. She explained a lot of technical computer terminology to us, and we are not computer savvy, and was patient and took the time to answer any of our questions. If you ever wonder where good customer service has gone, you need look no further with Stephanie. I would contact her again in a heartbeat, and would recommend her to everyone!

Excellent! I originally left a message, she called me back very promptly. She was available in short order, came to my home on time, worked without stopping and provided excellent service.

She's great: personable, adjusted to our needs, and obviously knows what she is doing. And she is trustworthy with sensitive information. She came when needed, was reasonably easy to get hold of, and explained what she was doing and why--or refrained from explaining when we wanted that. Her price of $35 per hour--besides being incredibly competitive--included a free house-call examination.
