TJ did a wonderful job. He listened to what I wanted and came up with some very valuable ideas, which were things I hadn’t thought of. I love my new bathroom and several of my friends have “bathroom envy.” I couldn’t be happier with this project result.

TJ did a fantastic job on completely remodeling our upstairs Hall Bathroom (and repairing and painting the damaged kitchen ceiling below). TJ and helper Ben worked cleanly, and with minimal interruption of our power and water. They were very polite, helped us immensely, and always kept us informed. Our completed Hall Bathroom Remodel is wonderful, and it greatly exceeds our expectations! TJ has amazing skills and knowledge in all aspects of bathroom design and construction. His knowledge, and his support for us, far exceeded that of our past remodeling contractors. He helped us immensely during planning and product selection. TJ brought us multiple product samples, and he helped us find descriptions and sources on the Internet. He personally bought and paid for all the material and delivered it to our house. or had it shipped to us. He clearly billed us as the work as the work progressed, and at its completion.

TJ and his crew did an excellent job in finishing our basement. TJ has great ideas and was able to conceptualize a layout that we really wanted. He is highly dependable, extremely personable and always delivers his best. Look no further than TJ if you want to get a quality work done! We are impressed.

TJ did a fantastic job on our kitchen remodel. He gave us a competitively priced estimate, and was able to tackle a variety of jobs, including moving a lot of pipes in our soffit so we could have taller cabinets. Most contractors didn't even want to touch those pipes, as it affected the plumbing throughout the house. He also moved two different heating pipes to accommodate the new design. What we especially liked about TJ was that he listened to what we wanted. We did not go through a designer (though he has one he works with), but picked out everything ourselves. The design included some custom work, including widened arched doorways, and we used 3 different floor tiles for the kitchen, powder room and laundry room. TJ was able to give us valuable information on what he thought would work (since we've never done this before!), while allowing us to choose what we liked. Other contractors may require you to use a designer where you're limited to a small subset of design choices. The install was done in late 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. TJ maintained safety throughout the project, wearing masks when interacting with us, and keeping the number of workers inside our house to a minimum. He and his crew were pleasant to have around and TJ is easy to talk to and work with. We're very happy with how the kitchen turned out. Our travertine backsplash is just what we wanted, and we're very happy with the overall fit and finish. Our late-60s kitchen which had needed a refresh for a long time has been transformed into our timeless Tuscan family kitchen and eatery!

TJ did a great job. His estimate was fairly priced, he was responsive and had great input into design and we're very happy with the finished product!

The remodels to the bathrooms went very well! TJ was professional and has excellent workmanship. He was also great to discuss design ideas and material selection with. I absolutely love my new bathrooms!

TJ and his crew did a fantastic job in finishing our basement. We had about 800 sq ft of space down there we were looking to finish. Naturally, we shopped around but could tell from all of the other contractors we spoke with that TJ was by far the most experienced. With a washer, dryer, water softener, hot water heater and furnace down there, our number one priority was maximizing the finished space. He took note of this priority and from the beginning of the job to final walkthrough, TJ and his team made it happen. The stairs go down the center of the basement and initially I thought of this as a negative. But the way they created a beautiful finished closet underneath along with customized railing, we love the fact that what we expected to be an eye sore is actually a great focal point. The natural room separation it provides allowed us to have a kids side and an entertainment side but still open enough to keep an ear and eye on the kids. In addition to truly listening to our priorities, TJ was extremely communicative with where they were and what the following day/week schedule was. He consulted us on options where appropriate. Above all, he and his team ensured we were pleased throughout. They were extremely approachable. You feel comfortable saying “actually, we want this door instead” (actual example). We have been in our new basement every day for the past couple of weeks. It’s truly a beautiful space and would not have been possible without hard work, great attention to detail, and experience that Schumacher Contracting brought to the table. TJ and his crew absolutely nailed it.

Overall, we are very pleased with our basement remodel. TJ and his crew brought our dream basement to reality and gave us a large living space that we can enjoy with our friends and family. This was our first time hiring a contractor to do work for us and with it being such a large project we were nervous about the end result. With Schumacher Construction, there is no need to worry. TJ and his crew completed all the items listed in our quote plus additional jobs that we added along the way, stayed within budget, finished the job within the deadlines stated from day #1, and made sure that we were completely satisfied before moving on to the next job. We were able to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving and look forward to hosting a Christmas Party in our new space!

The work done was excellent. TJ and his crew made sure that things ran as smoothly as possible, and just as importantly made sure to tidy up at end of day. I am very happy with the end results.

After striking out with two previous contractors, I was fortunate to have found TJ. He was professional, punctual and did quality work. His timeframe for project completion was spot on and he made suggestions to improvements I had been meaning to get to. Overall he and Fabian were wonderful to work with and will be using TJ for any future projects.

TJ and Erick were prompt, professional, clean and good guys to work with. The final results were excellent and just what I hoped for. TJ's estimates were accurate and the project stayed on budget. When small issues occurred (e.g. tub delivered on broken pallet, wrong color from vendor) TJ quickly worked with customer service to resolve. I was kept informed of progress and was consulted when decisions were needed. Construction phase took only a little over three weeks and final cleanup was excellent.

TJ did a wonderful job on our Master bathroom remodeling project. He was very helpful with the design, material selection and construction phases of the project. He helped keep the project within budget, was detail oriented and was communicative throughout the effort. We would recommend TJ to others for their home projects.

TJ is the consummate professional, yet extraordinarily easy to work with. From the initial consultation, through the planning process, he was super knowledgeable and helpful. He made everything easy, while being respectful of both of our time. I liked that TJ does all of the work himself - no sub-contracting, which only drives up costs and takes longer. His initial estimate (which was super close to the actual price) was super reasonable. During the construction process he was as un-intrusive as one could reasonably be working on a master bathroom, and kept everything neat and tidy, all the while giving updates along the way. The finished product looks outstanding. I would not hesitate to work with TJ on any home improvement needs again.

We had never done a major home renovation before so it was very helpful to have TJ Schumacher work closely with us to make the process as easy and cost efficient as possible. In addition to making design suggestions, TJ handled the purchasing for everything we wanted and needed. He and his handyman did all the work, from floor to ceiling. He just had to coordinate the installation of shower glass (the photo of the shower is before the glass was installed). The job was completed on top and under budget (some of our purchases were less $$ than estimated). The bathroom looks gorgeous; we highly recommend TJ!

TJ came highly recommended, and our friends were right. He was great to work with, and we love our new master bath. What we liked: - He is honest, trustworthy, and straightforward in all aspects of the job. - He does masterful work, with great attention to detail. - He told us who to talk to when picking out cabinets, countertops, bath fixtures, tile, etc., and this network of professionals was also very helpful. - He handled all of the ordering, payments, and deliveries with the suppliers; We received copies of the invoices, and only had to pay Schumacher Contracting. - We had a clear and accurate estimate up front of what the costs would be. - Once he started our job, he didn't begin another until we were finished. - He was highly responsive; we communicated frequently with text messages and pictures. - He was very neat, and cleaned up each day at the end. TJ Schumacher is fantastic to work with. From beginning to end, he ensured I knew exactly what was going on with regards to the project. He answered all of my many, many questions - not because he had, but because he realized how much I wanted to be a part of the process and to know what was going on. I was completely satisfied with TJ's work. He always arrived at his scheduled time, which means a lot. He stuck to the schedule and always kept me informed. TJ had a lot of good ideas for finishes, colors, and use of space. Being careful to keep the dust and dirt to a minimum was important to him and the space was very clean when the job was done. TJ is a skilled craftsman and it showed in his work. Home renovation isn't easy, but this was the best possible experience.

TJ is great to work with. I didn't want to spend the money on a designer (which was overpriced in my opinion) so I relied on him to get the measurements and ordering of the tile right which he did and his design suggestions came out beautifully. The job took a little longer than I expected but not much longer. Came across a few challenges during the job where we needed to make some changes. Most were minor but one was major where we needed to change our floor selection due to the poor quality of the subfloor I had. However, I was happy with the result and it ended up saving me $700. I wanted to keep costs down so I did a lot of my own ordering using my credit card to earn points but he could order for you as well. He will be honest with you, sometimes bluntly, and tell you if an idea you have would not look nice. From my experience, as long as you go into it with an open mind and can be flexible with timing and choices, you will not be disappointed. He does not have a large staff to delegate work to, and I had to wait over a month to get on his calendar after I paid the deposit. This is good because you always know who is in your house and not a random contractor showing up every day. He and his staff were also great with my pets and ensuring their safety while they were working which is very important to me. Bottom line is that I love how my bathroom looks and how much more functional it is, everything looks beautiful and works as expected.

Exceptionaly well TJ was a joy to work with on time and on budget and they cleaned everything up when they were done.

The kitchen remodel went as well as could be expected. Any issues we encountered we discussed to the best solution. The kitchen was stripped out to the bare walls. The end result is just beautiful.

Excellent. We were on a tight schedule and TJ made sure we had a working shower and sink by the time our kids came home from college for the holidays. He was prompt and courteous. His work is neat and well done.

We made the right choice in hiring Schumacher Contracting. TJ did a fantastic job working with us to help finalize our design plans, and he managed the project from end-to-end including all supplier ordering and freight deliveries to our home. The project was completed on time, and I know he and his employee Fabian put in extra hours to deal with a few quirks in our home's construction. TJ also brought in H2 Home Solutions to design/install a custom glass shower door, and they too did a very professional job. The results of our project look showroom-worthy. Both TJ and Fabian are skilled contractors, and they are great to work with. We look forward to having them return for an exterior project that will commence soon.
