When we bought the house in 2012, we were happy to see that the AC unit was only 3 years old. In 2015 (age 5 of the AC) our AC stopped working in the middle of the summer. We called a couple of HVAC companies and after everybody wanted to sell us a new system, we looked at the sticker on our AC ourselves and we realized it was put in by Mourar's. We also realized that only a year after they installed it, they came back and replaced a coil (on a one-year-old AC!). Mr. Mourar came over quickly and he was able to detect a leak. $500 later, our AC was running again - for 2 seasons! At the beginning of 2018 season, our AC didn't work again. Another technician came and he was not able to find the leak. We paid over $500 (over $100 in service call, charging Freon, and putting a substance to try to stop the leak). A month later, the pipe to the outside unit was frozen and after some research we realized we are low on Freon and the leak has not been stopped. The gentleman who came to repair our AC unit the second time seemed to think Mourar's didn't install new systems, they just did repairs. When I pointed out the sticker with the installation, he was quite surprised. We were not the owners when the AC was put in, but I can see there were things wrong with our unit starting a year after it was put in. I would not trust Mourar's in installing.

Paul, the owner, responded right away to my request for an estimate. His on-site review was all-business – that is to say, no sales puffery. His e-mailed initial and follow-up proposals (2 changes) were prompt and detailed. His price was in the lower middle range. Angie’s List reviews were a big part in my selection. As was Trane’s excellent Consumer Reports’ reliability rating. It was a two day project. The installers appeared to be knowledgeable and experienced. The lead installer told me he had 20 years of experience. He had one assistant each day. The A/C was working at the end of day 1. The second day they completed the gas furnace installation and installed the gas hot water heater. The proposal called for reusing my existing hot water expansion tank. When the assistant tried to adjust the air pressure in my expansion tank he found it was busted. He called Paul and Paul gave me the option to buy a new expansion tank myself from a nearby plumbing supply house, and Paul’s installers would install the new tank. This saved me about $100 of labor. I’m glad I opted to replace my existing thermostat with a Trane two-stage thermostat. Designed to integrate with the new Trane two-stage units, the air temperature is more comfortable – less high and low variation – than before. Paul’s wife, Phyllis, handles the office responsibilities. After the final payment, she mailed me a detailed paid invoice which was necessary to submit to PECO for three rebates. For installing the high-efficiency furnace, A/C, and fan, I received a $600 PECO rebate (program ends Dec 31, 2017). Paul also submitted my registration data to Trane. This is important because registration is necessary to expand the Trane limited warranties from 1 or 5 years (base) to a full 10years.

I interviewed 5 HVAC companies before choosing Mourar who came recommended by a friend. Paul, the owner came to give the estimate and he explained everything carefully. His price was the best and I liked the solutions he came up with ( converting low to high efficiency unit, they needed to put a smaller pipe in the chimney for the water heater exhaust). The installers, Mike and Andrew were great - prompt, professional, communicative (answering all my questions). They did a great job and I highly recommend them. Such a pleasure to have a reliable, responsible company.

Mourar's Plumbing & Heating of Phoenixville. provided everything you would expect from a family owned local HVAC company. Friendly, prompt, informative, professional, clean and FAIR .. is exactly what I got when I signed up to have them replace my heat pump. Rarely would I take the time to write a review but this company was so exceptional that I needed to spread the word. If in the future you need an outstanding & honest business to handle your HVAC problems, this is the phone # to call .. 610-933-5845

Bill from Mourar's came out at the end of June to perform A/C  maintenance in anticipation of selling our home. At that time Bill advised us of the small leak and slightly low pressure in the unit. The unit is over 20 years old, so we knew it would need to be replaced soon, but we were providing a home warranty with the home, so we were going to let the next family choose what they wanted to do considering they could get it repaired for a $75 deductible.  After one buyer backed out (unrelated to this issue), our realtor suggested getting it repaired so it was one less thing to show up on the Home Inspection. I again called Mourar and Phyllis was able to have someone out first thing the next morning (thanks to a cancellation) to perform the work.
Later that day I got another call from Phyllis saying she had someone call in that their 90 y/o mother's A/C stopped working and they needed someone to come look at it. She called to ask if it was OK if they pushed my appointment to later in the morning so they could help her since my A/C was otherwise working. I was fine with it and though it was great that they were looking out for others in need.

My A/C unit stopped cooling the house last weekend, so I called Mourar's because they had serviced this house before I bought it last year.  I had been told before settlement that the unit was old and would probably have to be replaced, so I was expecting Paul to tell me this was the case and was prepared to have to write a big check.  But first, he investigated the outside unit and discovered a corroded connection on the capacitor.  $250 later, it was back up and running.  What a huge relief.  I asked Paul to provide an estimate for a new unit, because when I do actually need one, I'll call Mourar's to do the work.  They are professional, responsive, and very reasonably priced.

Honest, upfront, and hard working.   When I requested an estimate they told me they couldn't do the work for about 3 weeks and scheduled the estimate based on that being OK.   The owner came to the house to perform the estimate and provided a quote within a few days.   The work was scheduled for a 2 day window and they completed it in that time.   So far I am happy with the service.    They do not take credit cards and expect payment in full at the end of the job.

Our central air conditioning stopped working on Wednesday, July 9th.  Mourar's has done work for us in the past and we have always been pleased with thier responsiveness and their service so we called them.  I left a message with thier answering service and Phyllis Mourar responded within the hour to schedule a service date.  She said the earliest she could get someone out was Friday the 11th which was understandable since I know HVAC contractors are extremely busy during the summer, but I told her I was hoping someone could come out sooner.  Later that day (probably after 6pm) Phylis called me back and said she realized that Paul - the owner would be in the area the next morning for a customer estimate and could swing by Thursday morning.  This was great since temperatures were in the 90s and we wanted to try to fix the problem ASAP.  Paul came by the next morning, right around the time he was expected.  I explained the issue and he said it did not sound good since it sounded like a bad compressor, but he would check it out.  After about 30 minutes he had the AC working.  He explained that he believed we had a bad compressor and replacement would be expensive, but he was able to get the AC working by replacing several parts - but we were probably on "borrowed time".  Our AC unit is about 11 years old so we discussed replacing the unit with a new one when the compressor did go.  Since Paul was there for the repairs, he took the necessary measurements, etc so he could provide a quote for a new unit.  Unfortunately, he was right and the AC failed agin a few hours after Paul left.  I called and connected with Phyllis again and she said she was disappointed to hear that the repairs did not work out.  I asked her to have Paul move forward with the quote and he responded promptly with a quote on Friday the 11th.  I worked with several other companies to obtain quotes for similar work and did some additional research to decide which was the best option from a cost/efficiency standpoint.  Paul was very helpful during this process as he provided information regarding what made the most sense for me vs. most expensive option(s).  I also did my own research and everything I read and discussed with knowledgable people was consistent with what Paul told me.  While the three quotes I received were all very close in price, I decided to have Mourar's do the work since they have continually proven to be trustworthy, reasonably priced, responsive and great to work with.  Upon signing the quote on July 15th, Paul informed me he could have his technicians out on July 18th to complete the work.  Paul's team arrived promply on the morning of the 18th and did great work.  They were respectful, knowledgeable, very competent and clean.  The did great work and we had working AC by the afternoon.  You would have never know they were here since they actually left the working areas cleaner than they had found them.
I would reccomend Mourar's without hesitation as we have had nothing but good experiences wiht this outfit.  Three years ago another HVAC contractor told us that we would need to spend over $4K to replace our entire unit when it stopped working.  Instead I called Mourar's and thier technician - Mike found the problem was a "fried" terminal wire which he replaced at a fracion of the $4K that the other contractor suggested.  I have been using Mourar's ever since and will continue to do so.  It is very difficult to find a contractor (in any line of service) that is as professional, responsive and honest as Paul and his team.  I would suggest that you always contact several contractors to get a second and third opinion and price quote.  With that siad, be sure that Mourar's is one of the contractors you call if you need any kind of HVAC service.  You will not be dissapointed in the service they provide.

Was given a window for arrival.  Service tech arrive within first 15 minutes of window.  I had asked for a std. service check of AC system that is integrated with heating system.  Also, due to compressor unit being situated at the start of downhill curve, one side of unit has washed out on downhill slope side and is leaning.  I asked that it be leved.  The technician was very nice and checked the outside unit and rather than just doing it w/o discussion, he suggested that the level would not hurt the unit for now; however, the more the lean, the more possible stress on the tubing feeds into and out of the house which would be a problem down the road.  He advised that he could level it but I would have to pay for the blocks and of course his time (a subtle suggestion of the cost of HVAC $/time).  He then showed me how I could easily level it and keep further erosion from happening for very little $$.
Since we just moved into this house and no records exist on maintenance of the HVAC system, I wanted to get a spring check on the A/C system.  He performed a check on the condensate drain, cleaned pump and drain, ran system, checked pressure, and checked newly installed filter.  He found "all OK"!
The price was a bit more than I am use to based on the company I used in Maryland (in a very expensive area of MD), I feel I received excellent service.  Mourar's was highly recommended by several colleagues my wfe works with.  I highly recommend their services and will use them again in the future!!

The whole process went extremely smooth from start to finish. I was doing some work in my attic and releazed some of my flexible ducts became loose. In addition, a fiberglass duct box was falling apart. I called and Paul came out for an estimate. Paul was extrememly knowledgable and thought outside the box. He actually redesigned the duct box that allow for better air flow. He was unable to put an exact price on the job but we agreed to an hourly rate plus materials. The materials cost was minimal. I did not have a problem with being charged an hourly rate instead of a flat estimate. On the day wescheduled he sent out a techinician who arrived on time. He was extremeley nice and even had a treat for my dog. We quickly went over the work to be done and he started his repairs. He was hardworking and I had no complaints being charged an hourly rate with his work ethic. I am extremely pleased with the work that was done and will keeping their information for the future.

We have been in our home for a little over a year and are new to the area. We had an issue with our AC last summer and called Mourar's based on proximity and good reviews from Angie's list. I was impressed how fast they were able to get a technician to our home. They replaced a part and had us up and running very quickly. Our AC units are about 15 years old and they made suggestions for replacement in the future.
On Wednesday of last week I noticed that the main floor of our home was much colder than normal. We called Mourar's in the morning around 10am and Paul was at my home by mid afternoon. He diagnosed the problem quickly and told us our heat exchanger had developed some holes in it and was tripping the high limit switch. He suggested replacement instead of repair due to the age of the furnace and the cost of repair. He charged me for the visit but said he would refund the amount if we decided to purchase a new furnace through his company. Paul reviewed a couple of options and e-mailed me a quote the next morning. I agreed with the quote and went with the higher efficiency model and this past Monday we had a new furnace up and running.
I had heard of scams involving other HVAC companies telling customers that their heat exchangers were bad and they needed to replace the furnace when there was something much less expensive that had failed. Much to my relief, when I inspected the old unit after being swapped out, I could see multiple small holes in the heat exchanger. Paul was exactly correct in his diagnosis.
The installer we had was Brian and he was polite, thorough, and personable as was Paul and everyone that I have dealt with at Mourar's. I did not get other quotes on any work that they have performed, but I assume that they are fairly well priced by all the other positive ratings they receive. Regardless, the responsiveness and professionalism, and knowing that you are not getting ripped off  are well worth the price paid.
Mourar's is a family owned and operated business and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
