Ron is very busy. So if you can wait for him (he has a waiting list) it is well worth the wait.
I would definitely hire Ron again. In fact, he just sent me an estimate for another job.
I need to add that Ron is very honest. I wrote the final payment for a higher amount than I owed. Ron sent me an invoice for overpayment and offered to refund it or apply it to my next job.
this was a custom piece; 96" tall by 96" wide x 18" deep. We ordered lights under each free floating shelf, so installing the electrical cords was critical. The finished product is absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend Ron for any customer woodworking.
First he made built-in solid cherry cabinets with bookcases above for the study/office. Then he built solid cherry built-in dressers for the master bedroom. Next he made built in bookcases and cabinets for the den. Finally, he made a custom desk for the office. His work is exceptional. He is a true craftsman/artist. He uses the finest materials (can you tell we like cherry!). The staining and finishing are impeccable. For the first project I got 3 quotes (as I always do) and Ron's was on par with the others. After he completed the first project we were so happy with the outcome I didn't bother to get other quotes for the other projects but all were priced reasonably.
He was prompt in coming to our condo to measure and scope the project so he could provide an accurate quote. I had done some simple drawings of what I wanted and had some pictures from the internet showing what I had in mind. He offered some suggestions for slight variations to enhance the projects. He invited us to his house to see some of the furniture he had built for himself. He was pleasant and professional to deal with. He finished all of the projects in the time frame we had discussed and for the price he quoted (no extras). During installation he was neat and always cleaned up after himself each day. As the pieces were custom built-ins (other than the desk) he was on site for two days for each project to do the fine tuning of the fit so each project fits perfectly in the spaces.
Overall we are sooooo pleased with Ron's work and we'll never use anyone else for our custom woodworking projects. It was a true pleasure to deal with Ron and all of the projects came out beautifully. We would most definitely recommend Ron without hesitation or reservation.
During the week that Ron worked on our porch, we was 100% dedicated to our project. Never did I see him taking other calls, texting, or emailing. He is a truly professional and when he is on your job, he is really ON your job. Its no wonder that there were no snafus or issues with our job and no need to come back and fix or redo anything.
I am somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to carpentry and I could not be happier with how our porch turned out. We opted for high quality materials that when installed with Ron's expertise and care resulted in a beautiful porch that looks like it was always part of our Queen Anne Victorian home.
We are very, very happy with our new kitchen. Working with Ron has been great. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting woodwork done.
We had several carpenters come to give us estimates on our kitchen remodel. We wanted to save money by not having all new cabinets installed and instead use the existing boxes. We had three estimates. The two carpenters other than Ron told us what we wanted to have done was impossible and that probably no carpenter would be able to make new doors to exactly fit all our existing cabinet boxes. So, they quoted us prices of between $13-15,000! Then, Ron came and looked at our kitchen. He said the cabinet boxes were of good quality and in good shape and that it wouldn't be a problem to make custom doors to fit. He quoted us a price of $6,500, which was at least half the other quotes!
So, we went with Ron. Throughout our experience working with him he was professional, friendly, flexible, and accommodating. As he worked on the kitchen we added a trim to the top of the cabinets, new toe kicks, and a shelf above the stove. None of this was part of the original estimate. Ron seemed happy to make these additions for us.
Again, I would highly recommend Yeager Woodworking for any remodeling projects that include wood.
Ron next crafted a new 15 foot long oak floor to ceiling media room cabinit with custom drawers and shelving that is to die for. When one of over twenty drawers came slightly out of line, Ron came to the house the next day to adjust it. And his bid for this project was meanifully less than the competing bids of two other cabitmakers suggested by my architect. (who added Ron th her list of contractors after being bowled over by the quality of the woodwork). .
Ron has since done two more jobs for me. He disigned and built a cherry pantry cabinet for my DR with adjustable maple interior shelving. He also desgined and installed custom maple shelving for our walk in closet, as well as matching and relacing the door and side panel of some kitchen cabinetry that my 10 month old 50 pount puppy decided to have for lunch. In fact, I just retained Ron or another project today ( a set of double interior doors for my vestibule).
I can recommned Ron Yeager unequivocally. Every detail of his work is impecable. Add to that extremely competitive pricing, a pleasant demeanor, prompt returns of emails and phone calls, and a professional attitude.
The only downside was that because Ron is such a perfectionist, he was a lattle late on some of two of our agreed upon deadlines. Given everything else, I consider that a very minor flaw and it certainly didn't stop me from asking Ron to do more work for my home..
I found Ron, and was I lucky! Not only that he gave us the best price on Angie's List, but his vision of how it should be done - (esthetically and functionally) fit our ideas to the nail! He lined the walls with specially treated thin red oak planks (that match the hardwood floors), lifted it off the floor so I can keep it clean and the wood ventilated , and built a floating shelf on top for light storage (matches, fire starters, candles and alike). Six hours of non-stop work later, the project was finished to perfection and we could not be happier. It accommodates more firewood than we thought possible, (and we do like our wood burning), the whole line of logs sticking out just enough from behind the wall compliments our decor, and the final product definitely adds value to our home.
Ron embodies all the things you're look for in a professional: punctual, respectful, pleasant, efficient, and to top it all - a very, very talented craftsman with an artistic streak. Don't think twice - he's your man!
My door is on his website under doors at yeagerwoodworking FIRST ONE YOU SEE
I knew this project was going to take time to make because of my detail which would take months to make and finding items for the door . So those of you that want it now you need to go to those do it yourself stores and buy yourselves a cheaply made cookie cutter door that looks like everyone elses.
This unique type of craft cabnet/ funiture/millwork makers is very hard to find and can be very tempermental so you have to have patient. They can easily find other fastidious clients to put on thier waiting list. I know because it has taken me two years to find the right guy to fit me . I was very demanding to every detail and material being used on the whole entrance right down to the nails and screws. My god he had a lot of patience with me and very polite . The fascade of the door frame and window is made out of the new poly material that does not rot and less maintenance, but looks like wood when painted . It mills like wood so you can cut it into any shape or profile. The detail with the spiderweb window looks just an old historical window as well as the door frame with fluting /groves on the inside and all the different profiles of the layering of molding on the outside. The arch top door frame with keystone is what they call a split frame outside poly and inside wood that is what the hinges rest on and door catches. All the hardware had to be hand cut in with a chisel like they used to do over 100 years ago . I can not tell you how much work went into the whole project but there was a lot. His attention to detail is right on the mark. The door swings and shuts like a fine piece of furniture. All the locks and slide bolts work correctly with no effort. My partner says it sounds like a bank voult when locking the door. Click, click and click
He finished the door just like he would do to a piece of funiture with lots of layers of varnish .
This entryway took him a few days to install . It was alot of work chipping the inside brick out and anchoring to the frame to the brick. With these old houses the front shifts with age . The door frame had to be ajusted to the brick. He made the wall frame on the inside above the door and sides as well as installing insulaltion and fitting the sheetrock with some plastering done . The molding on the inside is just as wonderful scribe into the walls seamlessly.
No messess to clean up and did not leave me with any of the construction debris.
I hired him to make my back double doors in mahogony from scratch that swing out. Later, folks!
This is someone I would hide in the closet and not tell anyone just so I can have him to himself for more custom projects.
We are a small pediatric medical office and wanted to do some renovations. Space has always been an issue for us.
Ron came on time for the estimate and took his time asessing what we wanted and the best way to go about it.He is personable and knows his trade very well. He had lots of suggestions about how to create cabinets and shelving in a small room making the most of the space we have. He was very flexible in coming up with a plan that worked and one that we could afford.
The entry door that he made for us is just MAGNIFICENT ! It shows high quality workmanship. Many of our patients have commented on how nice our new door is. Ron made the door look very professional.
He was also nice enough to do a couple of minor jobs while he was in the office working on the main project.
From start to finish this was an extremely easy process. Ron is honest and does wonderful work at a reasonable price.
My only slight gripe is that it took a really long time for us to find a date that would work. We kept getting told it would be another month, another 2 weeks. However, this probably means that Chris is in high demand (as he should be) and that he is (again) being honest about his availability. From the little that I know, this is fairly standard practice for contractors, so it's not a huge issue.
