"Thank you for your response."
"The roof was 100% fixed correctly, but the original leak caused extensive damage at the soffit which needed to be fixed by a carpenter. Although this was not in our contract, I still sent two carpenters out to fix the soffit, but the owner had hired a carpenter to do the work and told the workers they were not needed."
We decided to no longer use that company & have Weather-tite take a look. They came out to do the work that day & had it done quickly. Very reliable roofing company, we would recommend them to anyone
I had questions about the type of roofing material that would be used. Jeff got back to me very quickly and emailed me a link to a good website that explained the differences to back up what he was telling me. He gave me a very detailed written estimate that listed all the things that would be done. As well as how they would be done.
I scheduled the work. I gave him a deposit and he scheduled the work for the next week . Work was to start on Tuesday. Monday Jeff called me to confirm they would be starting Tuesday . Rain was expected but not until the afternoon and he said they should be able to get the main part done before the rain. Tuesday morning he called and the forecast for rain had changed and they had to reschedule for Wednesday. Tuesday evening he confirmed for wednesday . Wednesday the workers showed up and started working. They were very polite and I had no issues with them. I was home during the repair. Mid day the Jeff stopped by and inpected what they were doing and gave me an update. The following day the workers returned to finish the roof. They had cleaned up and everything was fine. Jeff called during the day and we agreed to meet to inspect and make final payment. He inspected the work and showed me what he was looking for so I felt better about the repair because I could inspect as well. I am not a roofer but i am pretty good at telling if something looks right. The roof has nice melted down seems at every point and was done in a very neat deliberate manner. The roof has not leaked at all in the 6 months since.
Overall, I ended up writing the check for the repairs and felt really good about it. It was a very good experience and I would definitely hire again though with the job they did I don't foresee me needing a roof anytime soon. I realize things like the rain delay are going to happen in this world but I was kept well informed through out the process so I still felt good. This is a company that not only understands how to do the job but also gets the customer service side of it as well.
"We installed a new modified bitumen rubber roof system to the rear roof at the 2nd floor level. We were able to stop several leaking areas that were present at the time of installation. However, there was a vertical shingle roof wall at the 3rd floor level that was in really bad shape. We tried to patch areas of this roof section to protect our newly installed roof but we were not able to stop a leak that continued after our new roof installation. We had trouble setting up a time to look at the roof as we had to meet the tenant to see the inside of the property. Several appointments were made by both parties but it didn't work out. We went to look at the property with out the tenant and inspected our roof to find that it was leak free. We recommended that the owner replace the vertical shingle roof wall but he wanted to install a coating over this area. We contacted our supplier to find that there wasn't a coating that would sufficiently work in this area. It was at this point that we lost contact with the owner. The leak was not a result of our work and we were able to stop several currently leaking areas. The owner was not happy that he wasn't able to stop all the leaks by fixing only the lower roof area. He was looking to sell the property and was not interested in investing in a new roof to properly fix the area and stop the leak."
"Even though proposed work was quoted well below cost due to measurement errors, Weather-Tite Roofing Co. completed all work at a loss of approximately $4500. The client is well aware of this and still not satisfied. More work was completed than what we were compensated for to insure that all roofing was done properly. Weather-Tite Roofing Co., Inc. returned to the member's property per her request. A water test was performed. It was found that water was leaking through the back wall and not through any roofing. Clear silicone was used on the wall to seal openings(not Weather-Tite's responsibility but done as a courtesy to the customer). The existing flashings were checked and new flashings were installed to direct water to the gutter per the customer's request. Again this was not in our original contract. The water test was repeated. These were the issues the customer asked to have satisfied. The second water test showed that water was still leaking behind the metal flashing installed at the perimeter of the roof. It is our professional opinion that there are no leaks that have been found to be directly related to either a defect in material provided to our customer or in the workmanship applied to the material at her property. However, we have tried very hard to work with the member to guarantee her 100%% satisfaction with the completion of her new roofing system. These leaks were found to be a direct result of standing water on the roof surface that is being caused by a structural deficiency in the roof deck that appear to have been caused by water leaking through the walls above the roof surface and traveling below to the roof deck. We feel that we have done everything within our means to correct the problems that this member is having and still she is not satisfied. Unfortunately some customers are very difficult to satisfy."
