When the work was near completion, he requested to be paid in full for his labor in the amount of $3800. I paid this amount in two checks ($1800 and $2000), both of which were cashed on 11/30/2006. He was to complete the work after Christmas. In late January 2007 he had not yet returned to complete the work (he had since taken on another job). I called repeatedly and he told me that he would return to finish the work. In March, I called again, and he said he had been injured and could not complete the job at all. We agreed on a refund credit of $500 to help cover the cost of hiring someone else to finish the job. He then sent a check for $150 with a note of apology saying the balance of $350 was forthcoming. The balance was never paid. After repeated calls over the past year, he promised each time to make the payment. He has not. I give up.

I called and made an appointment for someone to come and evaluate a hardwood floor for possible repair or replacement. The appointment time came and went but no one showed up or called, although they had my phone number. I called 30 minutes after the appointed time to find out what the story was, but no one picked up the phone or returned the message I left.
