Bought a simple set of cellular shades that turned into a disaster. Despite clear instructions the shades initially came with the wrong length cords on the wrong side with one mechanism broken. Installers left after an hour because nothing was right. Supposedly had to be reordered. Left the shades down and without cords so that they couldn't be opened. Second set still came with the wrong length cords. Installer shows up alone for a job that required two people and a ladder. Didn't bring a ladder either. Said he would make sure it was right the next time. Got calls in between saying that they couldn't make the cords long enough, then that they could, then that they would have to start all over again. 4 months after they started - multiple phone calls and my shades being down in our bedroom - they installed the shades. Was told that they couldn't consider compensation until they were finished. Got ghosted when I tried to call about it - finally called a supervisor who had them offer me 10% off - less than a sale might me. Frustrating customer service and poor installation service. Will not order again

We are very disappointed in the service we have received relating to our recent purchase from The Shade Store in Philadelphia. The sales person, Randy Maslow, was extremely helpful during the sale. However, the installation has been a disaster so far. Moving into a condo with ceiling-to-floor windows throughout, we were certainly anxious to have the installation performed promptly. However, they were not able to accommodate that need. After scheduling the installation months in advance, on the day the installation was finally to have occurred, they called and told us that their "truck broke down". Two installers did eventually arrive, but only had time to do one of our four rooms. The next day, one installer returned, obviously insufficient to complete the job, and only had time to do one additional room. The majority of the windows remain without shades. We asked for installers to return tomorrow (Saturday), to finish the job, but were told that this is not possible. After paying a lot of money for the product and the installation, we are sorry that we chose this company. I guess that once the sale is made and the money is paid, customer service is of no importance to them.
