I was coming from out of state and brand new to the Philly area. Marie was the only realtor I found who was willing to show me rentals around Philly. After she showed me some rentals, and as I became familiar with rent prices, I decided to buy instead. Marie listened to what I liked and didn’t like about properties, and she was so patient as I learned about and fell in love with more than one part of Philly and more than one kind of home (stone homes in the burbs, row houses and lofts in Philly), and narrowed my interests until I found the right home for me. She knew the right questions to ask me to better guide which homes she and I chose to tour. From beginning to end, she has been warm, encouraging, supportive, professional, knowledgeable and responsive. Jonathan Barach was also there, along the whole journey and process. Marie and Jonathan always knew what information I needed to know (learn) in order to advance along the home-buying decision-making process, especially as it pertained to the differences between states, and for Philadelphia specifically. For many, home-buying is an overwhelming and scary process, especially if you had some bad experiences in the past that you are trying to prevent the next time around; Marie and Jonathan know how to calm the fears, provide the exact information needed and work at the client’s pace and level of understanding. I had been working on all my own mortgage company research/comparison. (I am a detail freak, research freak, due-diligence freak. 😊 ) Along the way, Marie and Jonathan recommended a couple of mortgage companies to me that they have good experience with, and in the end, I chose one of the mortgage specialists they recommended – Jeremy Durkin from Trident Mortgage Company. The rates were competitive with others I had researched, I was able to get the exact kind of mortgage I wanted, and there was the priceless added benefit of Marie/Jonathan/Jeremy working together to make this a more seamless process for me. I am able to see the contrast of my experience with that of a friend, who was going through the home-buying process shortly after me; she did not have the benefit of her realtors and mortgage specialist working together on her behalf and it cost her so much time (and interfered with her job) to have to do so much additional legwork on her own. I feel very relieved to have had the entire process handled by these professionals – Marie, Jonathan, and Jeremy and his team. Jeremy’s cohesive team was completely on top of everything related to my mortgage. Laura Corley assisted live on the day of closing, and she was another warm, calming professional who played a key part in my new-home-journey. Other than visits to Philly to tour homes, and to be there live on the day of closing, everything else related to buying my home was done remote by calls, email, internet and DocuSign. I couldn’t have found and bought my home, from another state, without these professionals and the up-to-date communication tech they are able to provide to non-local buyers.
