The Sultans of Schlep are excellent. They are well versed with urban houses and city moves. The team was very helpful and professional. They helped me remove a screen door in order to fit the furniture.

The Sultans crew is very nice, professional, and punctual. They are experienced with urban older houses and did a fast efficient job. They had to disassemble a sleep sofa and did a very good job. I will definitely use them again for a future move.

The Sultans of Schlep arrived early to begin an early morning move (due to the time restrictions of the building that we were moving out of). They moved all of our items to multiple locations in the Philadelphia area, throughout a long day. The price was very reasonable for the services, and everything arrived in good condition. We highly recommend them. Price listed includes tips for the movers.

The moving crew arrived on time and prepared for an extensive move, complete with dollies, moving blankets, and positive attitudes. They asked good questions about what needed to be moved and went above and beyond our expectations, even hauling a heavy entertainment cart down the stairs for us so we could take it to a donation center. The move included many trips down a fire escape--the only way to access the old apartment--and we were nervous that the fire escape would be a problem, but they made it work. The crew was very professional and Tom, the owner, was easy to work with over the phone and email, responding to communication promptly and professionally.

What can I say? These guys are simply THE BEST. I've used quite a few moving companies over the years and I was most impressed by the Sultans. They texted and emailed prior to coming to confirm their appointment. They showed up on time. They worked extremely hard and never complained. I felt bad because we had, unfortunately, under-estimated the amount of "stuff" that we had. They worked very well together as a team and were great people in general. I enjoyed chatting with them while they schlepped our stuff around. They were attentive and on point with everything. I was very relieved to have them on the job - I sincerely felt that I could trust them. Wouldn't use anyone else again!

I was so impressed with this team. They were smart, professional, and respectful to each other and to me. I hired them only to hoist 2 refrigerators (old one down, new one up) and they took great care with the items and with my house. I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to call them again.

My partner and I have had mixed experiences with movers before and we were very pleasantly surprised.  The men were professional, friendly, educated, and experienced.  They asked pertinent questions about the orientation and location of specific items of furniture, worked really hard to make sure the move was done quickly and well, and were very professional in their care for our home and belongings.  They finished an hour sooner than we anticipated and there was no damage to our belongings.  Because our new home has extremely narrow staircases, even for Philly, there were a couple of minor scratches to the walls, nothing we're concerned about and damage I would consider normal "wear and tear" in a move.

I had a huge metal tanker desk they I knew would not fit in my new house with small doorways but they took the legs off for me and made it up with no prob- except for a small scratch on the wall but not a huge deal.
Also helped me make sure my bed was put together properly- didn't take long at all.
The whole move took just over four hours which all fit in one load. The hard part was packing the truck and getting everything in the right place when they arrived so it all worked out nicely. I'd certainly recommend them for your move.

I have to apologize to Tom, Keiran and their entire crew for taking so long to review them. These guys are not your typical movers. They are the best! We have used them for moving and for assembly 4-5 times over the course of the last 6 years and each time has been a great experience. They also come and assemble furniture, not just help moving.

They were outstanding. The young men were efficient, careful, and thoughtful. They were both nice young men. We highly recommend them.

From Tom's responsiveness to our dilemma of needing a mover ASAP, to Joe's great customer service, to Kirin and his crews' hard work, it was a great experience during a very stressful time. The fellows were hard working, and were kind when a few items meant for donation had to be removed from the truck. I would not hesitate to use The Sultans of Schlep again!

Could not say enough about Sultans of Schlep, Tom (the owner) and crew --
they made a potentially stressful out-of-state move into something seamless and painless. Tom met me a couple of weeks early to evaluate my belongings - he even voluntarily spent a couple hours of his own time to help me rearrange some densely packed, heavy items in storage so they would be more accessible as I prepared to do the actual move. Tom communicated well with me by email and phone, so I felt confident as date approached, and confirmed details in writing before the big day.
When I informed him that I had sold many large items before the move, he adjusted the estimate price (down) to reflect that they would be moving fewer things - without my even having to ask.
They took care with my furniture and boxes - packed the truck very well, and were really efficient about time. Tom also personally took a large cabinet I had to a donation site (in his own van) and sent along a receipt for me.
Moving in was equally smooth - everybody arrived on time, unloaded easily and carefully, asking me where things go if it wasn't clear. The guys even figured out how to disassemble and reassemble a large metal table I had to make sure I could get it into the room I needed it for.
Other movers have flaked on me, didn't call back, or wanted to charge exponentially more, regardless of how much I was moving.
Everything about working with Tom was a pleasure.
And since there's already a little Yiddish in the company name - it seems appropriate to say, Tom is a Mensch! - my highest recommendation...

My daughter had originally found a mover on CraigsList and it was a disaster!!! The mover never showed up on the planned day. I , in
turn, found Tom and his moving crew on Angie's List. I contacted Tom on Friday night. 1/11/13 at 9 p..m. and he answered my e-mail
request and arranged for the Sultans of Schelp to move my daughter the very next day on Saturday, 1/12/13. The movers showed up on
time and they were very professional and courteous. Tom even called my daughter to make certain that the move went well. We were
beyond pleased with the high level of customer service that was rendered.

They were on time. It took a while to move everything out,likely due to taking apart furniture. It may have helped to have called in a 4th person. It took them over an hour to get to new apt, which they didn't charge me for but made the move take longer than anticipated, 6 hours total to move about 2 miles.

It was good. I would have liked to have had them take the boxes of books with a hand cart instead of one box at a time. They were prompt and obliging.

Karen (from Upholstery by Kormondy) was contracted by the Diesel store of Philadelphia to reupholster a sofa. The sofa is where people sit down to try on shoes so it was important that it be returned to them as quickly as possible. The Sultans showed up at Diesel and picked up the couch on Monday morning, delivering it to the workshop in the late morning. Tom communicated with us the entire time on Friday as the finishing touches were being performed on the sofa. The Sultans showed up at the workshop at 4pm on Friday to deliver the sofa back to Diesel. Everyone was happy.

It went better than expected. The charge quoted ($110/hr for 3 men) was the charge billed; they were careful and did not damage any items. I had contacted the co. on my daughter's behalf because she was too busy preparing for a trial (she's an atty). I retained the co. to move her 1 bedr Phila. apt. + her boyfriend's NJ 1 bedr. apt. into a single 3 bedr house in NJ. They did not panic when they saw us still packing as they began moving the 1st apt. They helped pack wardrobe boxes, etc. The supervisor showed up initially to make sure the movers were there as expected. The movers were pleasant and cheerful -- worth a lot in a stressful situation -- and they worked steadily and methodically. They were great. I would use them again.

The whole process went easier than we could have imagined. They even accommodated our request to extend our move into an additional day. Really can't recommend The Sultans highly enough. Our belongings were schlepped with expert care.
