I used them for my 3 cats since 2009, but I've now gone elsewhere. They've always been VERY expensive, but over the past 4-5 years things have become ridiculous. They try to push unnecessary services (blood tests for health cats every 6 months?!), always with the motto "it's what is recommended". A lot of things are recommended in life and if I did all that's recommended for my health I'd be at doctors every month (and I'm healthy!). Their priority is not the animals' health but how much money they can squeeze out of you. Example -- One of my cats is on special urinary diet to prevent crystals. I get regular shipments every 3-4 months but they need vet approval. Society Hill Vet only approve 1 shipment at a time. After giving me real trouble with the one in May, they refused to approve the last one because "I hadn't brought in my cat for a year". It's a diet for prevention of crystals for God's sake, not a medication--and it's not like there would be a change that would make that special diet harmful. If there's any change, that diet becomes even more crucial. But what's maddening is that I take my cat in at least once a year for an exam and his rabies vaccine (due end of September). So, that BS is all about forcing you to pony up additional money for unnecessary visits/care. Awful.

They are incredibly caring vets and the techs are great as well. Several of the vets are cat guardians as well, so their focus isn't solely on dogs as is the case with many vets, cats are a huge portion. They are not the cheapest option around, but you cannot ask for better care. My cat needed a few extra tests and procedures because of some past medical issues so my cost was higher than normal, but a standard appointment is below $100 I believe.

I was always pleased with the care Lucy received, and as important Lucy was always happy to go for her checkups. On her last day the compassion shown by Dr. C and the techs was fantastic.I highly recomend SHVH and should I adopt a new dog in the future I will definitely use them,

They are going to come out soon to give my dog his shots. Their last visit was expensive but it was worth it. They cut his nails and drew blood, which was almost impossible on a dog his size with the pain that he is in. Two people had to come; the vet brought an assistant. Considering the amount of time they were here and what they did it was reasonable. It is just not cheap owning an animal. They were great. I am waiting for a call from them in the next week or two.
