We were told the entire job would take 2 to 3 days. This was on February 21st. It is now April 14th and the job still isn't finished. Now the lease on the rental our insurance company providedfor us is running out and our house is not ready to be occupied. This is completely unacceptable. We provided a sizable down payment up front to make sure the job was finished quickly.
This is on top of numerous other questionable behaviors We received an invoice asking for money (before the job was completed) with no hours on it, just a number. When we asked for an invoice with an hourly breakdown, we were charged for many, MANY days they didn't work. I stopped by the house every night to keep track of progress. Days where the door hadn't even been unlocked were listed as full 8 hour days for multiple technicians. We would schedule meetings at the house that the company would just blow off, then charge us for. There would be long stretches of time where no one would return my calls or emails.
The biggest red flag: things are missing. Mostly tools. I don't know if they were stolen or thrown out, but we were very clear that we wanted EVERYTHING saved aside from the items that were visibly fire damaged. There's no reason power tools that were in the basement, which was untouched by fire, should have been thrown away. I trusted this company with all of my belongings. That was a mistake.
I can not be clearer than this: Servpro lied to me and failed to deliver on the work they said they would complete. Never use this company.

1st rate service. A little expensive but worth it as they did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. Highly recommend them for any emergency repairs.

They were immediately responsive to our late night call about a flood in our basement and had a crew out he next morning, as promised and on time. They handled everything in a professional fashion, took pictures of everything for insurance purposes and posted it al online for my use and submitted them to the insurance company. They were exceedingly patient as I sorted through a mountain of items in our basement storage, disposed of what was ruined, bagged what we could keep and moved everything to the garage. They were exceptionally honest, removing only that part of the wallboard and insulation that was damaged and salvaged what molding the could.
I would use them again in a heartbeat

A family member had used ServPro to remediate a mold problem in her house and had a positive experience so my husband and I decided to try the company. We were disappointed. Originally we contacted ServPro to come out to give us a mold estimate following Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee in September. We set up an appointment for 2pm and my husband took the day off from work so that he could be home for the estimator. At 2:15 he called ServPro because they hadn't arrived and he was told that they had to cancel the appointment because all of their estimators needed to go to an apartment building. He missed a day of work only for them to cancel 15 minutes after their appointment time. We had them come out again in October to give an estimate and we decided to use them because they were local. We scheduled the technicians to begin work in November and they were supposed to arrive at 10am. Because of what had happened in September, I called the technicians at 9:55am to make sure they were still coming at 10am. They informed me that they would need to arrive at 11am instead. At 11am I contacted the technicians again and was told that the they would arrive by noon. They finally showed up at 12:45pm. The techs went to work in our bedroom and brought trashbags full of the moldy drywall and insulation, unsealed, through our house. I could feel my chest getting tight and I started coughing but the technicians assured me that it was fine. They took an air sample and left after a couple of hours of work. The air sample came back positive for mold, meaning that the technicians hadn't adequately removed all of the mold and/or contained and cleaned the air in the room. A second round of technicians came to the house to do some further cleaning and air sampling. After not receiving the results of our 2nd mold air sample, it was discovered that the sample had gotten lost and was untraceable through the FedEx system because the person who mailed the sample didn't have a tracking number. To ServPro's credit, the technician who had been responsible for the 2nd air sample came to our home on a Saturday morning to perform a 3rd air sample. Thankfully, the 3rd mold sample came back negative.

We liked that they finally did get the job done. What we didn't like was that they were late. Because of the weather they were not able to get there and when they did come they were not able to do the work because they didn't have the larger equipment so we had to reschedule. We were under the impression that once the ducts were cleaned out the heat would come up into the vents and that wasn't the case. They explained that and said that it had to do with the airflow and we needed to contact the HVAC technician. It was kind of expensive but the other company we contacted was much more expensive. They seemed to be friendly. I am the property manager and I was not there when they did the work but the tenants said they explained everything to them. When I sent the HVAC technician there was still some debris in the vents. There were a couple of issues with the responsiveness. When I called I asked to speak to the person doing the work and because of his job he was unable to return my call in a timely fashion. Once he arrived he did call me to explain the situation. He said that they may had have a fire because of the amount of soot they found. He was informative when I did speak to him.

I had contacted the quality association and they helped me with the inspection and advised how much it would cost and the type of work to be done. Their quality was good. I recently bought a house this summer and within a month of ownership, black mold popped up on interior drywall in the first floor addition. Needless to say, I was a mess. Mike Talay from Servpro came out immediately and over June-July 2010 coordinated extensive mold remediation and the interior restoration of my home. Every worker (and there were many) that came to the house, were professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Their restoration work was flawless. It actually looks better than it did before the mold popped up. Mike and Servpro also brought in an outside contractor named Bruce (sorry, I can't remember his last name) to do needed exterior repairs and he was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this company and their service during a very stressful time. Also, I had to pay out of pocket, so they made sure to give me the best price possible. Would definitely use them again but hope I won't have to. ;)

Shortly after purchasing and moving into my house, I wanted to have the long-neglected air duct system cleaned. The job was scheduled promptly. I haven't had this kind of work done before so I was a little surprised when I was told how long it would take (about 5 hours for my house). But when I saw the equipment being used and the amount of work going into each and every vent, I appreciated that a very thorough job was being done. The two-person crew was pleasant and conscientious, explaining everything they did.

The staff who did the work were friendly and competent. They cleaned the ducts, sprayed some sort of adhesive into them that makes all remaining dust particles adhere to the sides of the ducts, and they cleaned all of the grates that cover the vents. We were very satisfied with the promptness of the call back, appointment, and overall service.
