He came over and my husband and I sat down with him and gave him a budget. We talked for an extraordinary amount of time dicussing what we wanted and some things that we didn't want. When he came back with the designs drawn up, he was about our hundred thousand dollars over budget, which was more than double our original budget. He also had designed things that were completely out of the scope of what we wanted. He seemed to put his needs ahead of our needs. When we told him that we could not afford the designs that he had brought us he acted very snobby about the fact that we couldn't afford his designs. He treated us like out taste just wasn't as good as it should be. He acted like he was trying to help us with his designs. It was not a pleasant experience. He did keep the initial deposit of twenty thousand dollars, which was supposed to be put toward construction fees. He even sent us another bill for a thousand dollars for late fees. He was very nice in the beginning, but that turned around rather quickly.
