For example, he added hidden storage doors to our fireplace and introduced us to yakisugi, a Japanese wood-burning technique that beautifully enhanced the grain on the custom crafting desk he built for me. The built-in bookcase is now a focal point in our home, and the hanging chair was Joe’s idea to add a unique touch and an additional level of comfort and style.
