As for all previous work with Resto, this was a flawless job. Hector Resto runs a small shop, by choice. He works with his crew and they clearly adore him. As a result, the site is relaxed and coordinated. Resto himself is the calmest contractor I have ever dealt with. He never loses control. He is completely direct. Discussions about money are relaxed and clear. He is totally reasonable.
Resto has a unique style for a contractor. Rather than spread himself over many jobs, like so many contractors do, he will focus on yours, if you will let him. We have twice simply left town for 90% of the work. This last renovation we were gone for six weeks of the project. We (he) called when required. He sent detailed photos (even a few movies) for us to follow the project and intervene to clarify things. Despite the horrible weather, he stayed on schedule.
Hector has a real sense of design. He can take a rough drawing, polish it and put it into reality without much effort by us. He is very knowledgeable about all sorts of things but when he doesn't know something he does the research. A good example for this job was the installation of an electromagnetic scaling suppression system (we have hard water), which he had never installed before. He has deep experience that pays off. A good example of that is his anticipation that was the discovery that previous owner of our house had not installed the windows we were replacing correctly. The short story is that he saved us thousands of dollars. He is a master of tile - he did the shower enclosure himself.
And he is inexpensive. I have built one home, researched in detail (to the point of quotes) building another and renovated three homes over my life. I have seen many estimates run over by 10 to 20 percent, even without change orders. Resto's estimates are reasonable and, importantly, solid.
I gave him a bottle of wine a few days ago to thank him for a job well done and joked that I was sorry that I didn't have more cash on hand to start on another job (master bathroom) since I enjoyed this one so much.

Responsible, responsive and comes up with cost-effective, creative solutions. He is a gem among contractors.

Great job. Worked quickly and efficiently but also did not cut any corners and gave quality service. Worked with me from estimate, to measuring, to installation. Will use again.

I've worked with Hector (Resto) for the last 2 years as part of general renovations in a 32,000 sq ft converted factory. He always answers his phone and shows up on time - a must. He's able to bring considerable resources to bear on large projects and is quickly capable of knocking out small projects. The work was completed on time and in budget. In the past he's completed heavy demolition, light carpentry, plumbing, tiling and debris removal for me. I've always been happy with the work, the price and speed of completion. I highly recommend RESTO BUILDING SERVICES (though I kind of didn't want to write this review because it may mean he'll be less available for my ongoing projects).
