I purchased a Refrigerator from Lowe's and have had issues since delivery 3 years ago. This is the preferred vendor for KitchenAid service calls. This service company has been scheduled twice to fix the unit. There is no coordination between Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) and the service company. They put everything on me. Their first & only concern is who is going to be paying their bill. The ladies that answer the ph0one are gruff and unprofessional. This company stinks.

Dishwasher busted after 4 months. Quaker City showed up 1 day later and replaced the broken part to get it working in less than 30 minutes without even moving the dishwasher. Appreciate the great service!

I contacted Whirlpool with problems from a clothes dryer that was less than 2 years old, and they sent out Quaker City Service as their local rep. The service tech that came out didn't do anything other than turn the dryer on and agree that it wasn't heating. He decided without any diagnostics that it was either a clogged vent or the gas coils. He told me to get the vent cleaned, and if that wasn't the problem, they would subtract the cost of the $105 service visit from the cost of the gas coil replacement repair. I called a vent cleaning company who came out and said there was absolutely no lint in the vent. I called Quaker City back, but since more than 30 days had passed, they would not honor the $105 deduction from the bill (which I was never told). They also said that they couldn't be sure that the gas coils were the problem, but if I paid an $85 service fee, they would come out and properly diagnose the problem. I asked why they didn't do that the first time, and all I was told was that the tech who originally serviced my dryer wasn't there anymore, but since it was more than 30 days ago, they couldn't do anything for me. After multiple requests to talk to a supervisor (where i was told one would call me back but never did), I finally got the girl to admit that the supervisors just didn't want to talk to me, and if I wasn't willing to pay them another $85 to come diagnose the problem, there was nothing they could do for me. I am now in the process of complaining back to Whirlpool and trying to locate another certified service company. This company does not care about the customer or customer service. They just want to steal your service call charge and do not care about fixing the problem. They are a bunch of crooks and should not be in business. I've never dealt with a company where the supervisors and owners are not willing to even talk to an upset customer. STAY AWAY!!!

The "repairman" came to my house to fix my Whirlpool washing machine. $240 later (including a $100 "service" fee") the machine seemed to work fine. Less than two months later, I had to call them again for the SAME problem. After 30 days, they can charge you again!!! This time, they waived the fee and told me the same problem was "fixed" (again). 16 loads of wash later, the machine malfunctioned AGAIN!! Of course, now they wanted to charge me again!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!! They will rip you off!!

First, the provider came to the house to diagnose the control panel issue.  He was knowledgeable and offered up great tips on how to prevent the problem from happening again.  However, after installing a brand new control panel he loudly struggled for quite a while to reattach the inside portion of the dishwasher door.  I offered to help but he declined and it took a good 30 minutes for him to finally get it reattached.  No more control panel problems!
The very next time we ran our dishwasher it leaked about a gallon of water and slowly spilled across about half of our kitchen floor.  Quaker City was responsive and sent someone out within a day or two to fix this second problem.  It turns out we needed a new seal for the door.
I'm no dishwasher expert but it seemed to me that the issue with the seal was likely because of the first provider's door reattaching struggles.  No skin off my back as long as they fix it and we are not charged.
1. I was given a hard time about waving the service fee for the second visit since they would need to "prove" that the seal problem was their fault.  They admitted that it was by not charging us for the visit.
2. Then we were told we would have to pay for the seal and got a bill in the mail.  When I called to explain that I didn't think we should have to pay for the seal I was met with anger and confrontation.
The woman on the phone yelled, "Fine!  You don't have to pay it but we will NOT be providing services to you an longer!"  I asked if they had a website where I could write a review and she said, no, too bad, we don't have a website so you can't give us a bad review.
Eek.  I'm a pleasant and understanding person but do not come at me with a rude and aggressive tone, especially since I would have written a good review up until I got off the phone with her today.

Tuesday I enrolled my 15 month old Whirlpool refrigerator in the Repair+1 warranty program, since it had broken over the weekend, and was beyond my household's DIY skill-set to repair.  We had already tried the basics, cleaning the coils, checking for vent blockages and freeze-over.  They told me they were sending a tech from Quaker City, after seeing the other reviews I was nervous, but it was fully covered service, so I figured, give them a chance.  Technician Gary called Tuesday afternoon, asked probing questions to help prepare for the service appointment the next day.  Called again in the morning with an ETA.  Gary arrived on time as promised, was a very pleasant and professional person.  He got right down to business, he had already looked up the specifics of the make and model of my fridge,  and made sure he had the needed tools and parts.  Replaced the compressor, recharged the system, and was on his way with everything working and back together in less than an hour and a half.
I was very pleased not only with the repair, but also the repairman.  I can't speak to anyone else's experience with this company, but mine was great.  I would highly recommend them, and will happily use them again if/when needed.

We were told that the service call would cost us $85 + tax to make the diagnosis.  We already knew the diagnosis before they came and offered to buy the part ($10).  They reassured us that there would not be an additional cost if they had to come back for the repair.  The technician was here just under 30 minutes and they charged us $212.  Absolutely ridiculous.  Called the office manager to complain about the price but she would not budge on the price.  Let her know that we would never use them again as their prices are so inflated.

The repair person was nice and seemed very knowledgable about our unit. He got it running and suggested if we had the problem again we should cut the power to it for a minute so the logic board could reboot. The dishwasher ran fine two more times and then we had the same failure. I turned off the circuit breaker as suggested but that did not resolve the problem. On 4/16/14 I called Maytag again to schedule another service call which they did for today 4/17/14. Maytag has both of my phone numbers and I requested that my cell phone number be called if needed. Quaker City Service also has both of my phone numbers and actually called me on my cell phone number for the first service call. I did not receive a call from Quaker City Service this morning so I called them. Their office staff is not competent and has a very poor customer service attitude. They said they called my home phone because they did not have my cell phone which they did have and used twice earlier this week. Then a lady said that since they did not receive my service request until this morning (Maytag sent it yesterday, I have email proof) that it was too late to schedule me today but they can come to my house next Monday. This was a baloney statement since they already tried to contact me but on the wrong phone! I did not appreciate the dishonesty and blame shifting and lack of caring about the customer. I told Quaker City Service to forget it and I will call Maytag to send another service company. I should state here that my interaction with the Maytag people was first rate at all times. Within a few minutes Maytag scheduled another company to visit my house this afternoon.

bad.  they sent serviceman  who removed it.  said it would be back in a week.
difficult making an appt. in the first place.    we called  over 1 week later and were told it had been checked and there was nothing wrong with it, it was ready to reinstall - must be an installation problem.  I told them to check again and they found something, but we heard nothing for another week.
pretty clear there was no one in the repair shop until we called, information from receptionist was based on no information.  ultimately over 3 weeks until we got it back.
if not a warranty issue I would never use them again.

The dishwasher was under warranty so I did not have to pay anything. They did an excellent job. The repairman was young so that's why he was very enthusiastic. My husband asked him if he likes his job and he said he really does like his job and told us that if he can't fix it, they'll order the part and that he'll be back to repair it. It turned out that the problem was because of what we did to the dishwasher. My husband put soap pads in it so laundry soap was coming out of the dishwasher instead of dishwashing soap. It was really just a problem of getting rid of the suds. He put a cup of olive oil in the dishwasher and he ran it for a cycle. He said that we could run it for another cycle and we should be fine, there would be no other issues. It really did work because there were suds coming through the door. If I had any problems with anything else, I would call them because I think they're really trustworthy and honest. I called them on a Monday and they came out Tuesday morning.

Seamus from Quaker City arrived after he had given me a 30 minute call. He brought with him tools and a paper box that looked exactly like the one I had received from Amanda to replace the heating element. This item had to be pre-ordered from Amanda prior to placing a request for service. Seamus went to work, while I had to attend to something else. In the final analyses, I really don't  know whether Seamus replaced the element! I didn't watch him during the job. After he was done, he handed me an empty box to throw away, but never an old heating element! UnfortunateIy, realized this only after he had departed!

When I had called Quaker City to ask about the cost of fixing the leak, the quoted me $85 for a diagnosis plus parts. Seamus requested $125, just for a diagnosis and a total of almost $200 to fix it! What I discovered after his departure was, that he loosened up the left side of the D/W door so it looked like it was the cause of the problem. I had already checked the D/W door previously and replaced a hinge. The door was tight before he arrived!

Seamus obviously, and Quaker City cannot be trusted for their service.

Service Rep was Tom M.  Great guy/ very punctual and went the extra step to correctly diagnose the problem and to recommend repair based on a cost/benefit.  He had to order the part and drove out to the warehouse to get it to me sooner.  I'm in insurance and have added Quaker City Service to our recommended service providers because of Tom.  His service area is Bucks County.

I spent $344.50 including tax.  The experience was fine.  I spent $280.00 for the ice maker.  The service to have them just come out was $80.00.  It didn't take very long for the guy to replace the ice maker.  The ice maker itself cost $125.00.  I thought that was expensive.  It took him about 15 minutes to replace the ice maker so the whole thing was almost $350.00.  The good about them was that they came out quickly and when they said they were coming out.  That was good.  They were able to have the part and accomplish the job.  The negative was that it was expensive.  The overall experience was good.  I don't have anything else to compare the price against so it's very hard to know what somebody else would charge for the service.  They give you the time frame when they are available and I hate that.  I thought I would have to call them back today for an issue, but I ended up fixing it myself.

Needed replacement for control board for Whirlpool duet gas dryer. Initial visit by repairman determined problem, estimated
cost to repair and ordered repair part. This group is a recommended Whirpool repair company. Technician arrived
to install part and had difficulty installing it. Claimed that Whirlpool is changing the size of these parts, so they don't interchange easily. (Our referral to this company was FROM Whirpool). He actually damaged (cracked) part of display when
it was installed. Before I completed paperwork I asked him about this, and he told me that if I did not accept the job
his only alternative was to remove the new part (now cracked) and reinstall the old one (not working).  This was a poor job.

It went very well. Our service appointment was scheduled for 2/09/2010 but because of a cancellation the service technician was able to come out on 2/08. He started to work immediately, and was finished in about 20 minutes. Before he left he made sure to leave the area clean, and he took the defective relay with him. The refrigerator-freezer has woked fine since the repair.

Scheduled appointment through Whirlpool, was assured that Quaker City was authorized and would have parts needed. They were available within 48 hours. Staff was very friendly. They could not tell me until that morning when they were coming during the day. Serviceman was a bit arrogant as problem was described, but had the part and fix was done pretty quickly. The closet door adjacent to the laundry area was cracked and off the track as if an impact damaged the door, we didn't see it or hear it, but weren't hovering over his shoulder. When I called the office, they referred me to the repairman who came. He was very firm that there was no way he could have done it. I have no proof and no real cooperation from the them, but I have a broken closet door to replace.

They were quick to make an appointment to fix the dishwasher, and the guy was here for a 1/2 hour and had it fixed. However, I felt the price was expensive. I had an estimate from someone else who wasn't available as quickly as being around $67, $190 was about 1/2 the cost of the dishwasher itself, which I bought almost 2 years ago.
