This business is owned by an arrogant, racist and disrespectful human being. His family member was not seen at my place of employment due to failure to pay for service so RAYMOND LONGSTREATH as a business owner decided to call this place of business and harass, disrespect and degrade an employee doing their job. He began the conversation by aggressively cursing me out. I asked him to not speak to me in that manner and he continued. He made numerous racist remarks that if his family member were black or Mexican that we would see them without paying for service. When I calmly explained to him that anyone not able to pay for their service would not be serviced at my place of unemployment. He aggressively screamed in the phone threatening me and also degraded me by calling me a “co*ksucker.” I called the business right away and left a message with the owner, I also emailed the owner and two other managers in regards to this incident who all failed to respond. Come to find out.. These actions were done by the owner himself!!!! If the OWNER conducts himself in an unprofessional manner.. I’m sure his business is just as unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and avoid dealing with someone who thinks he deserves more than the next person, Who thinks it’s okay to degrade, harass and get verbally aggressive with someone simply doing their job. Also . . . One of the managers Steven emailed me and claimed they did an investigation and fired the employee yet I was already two steps ahead and knew that the person who verbally attacked me was in fact the OWNER RAYMOND LONGSTREATH. So not only is the owner ignorant, racist and disrespectful… but the manager is a liar.

I rarely leave negative reviews. People are too quick to become keyboard warriors these days. But I also heavily relay on reviews in selecting contractors. So I feel like describing our experience may help other make informed consumer decisions. We originally reached out to Northeast Fence in February 2021 and signed a contract/put a 25% down payment in early March 2021. That was in the midst of supply chain issues and we understood the 8-12 week installation window that was noted in our contract. I began following up with the company in April 2022, nearly a year after we signed the contract, and months outside of the agreed upon installation. When someone finally responded, we were given staff FMLA and supply chain as the reasons. I could probably understand both. But not communicating these issues for months is inexcusable. It wasn’t until August that we were told they finally had the materials. It then took another month and a half for installation. At no point during this period did the company reach out unsolicited to provide an update. I was the one reaching out for timeline updates. And the emails I received were often 1 or 2 word replies. The one time that the company initiated communication was for final payment. The work (materials and installation) appear to be solid. But the professionalism was completely lacking. If you’re looking to have a fence installed in 1.5 years by an unprofessional and uncommunicative company, Northeast Fence is for you.

Quality is so far so good. I will absolutely use them again. They kept me informed from the beginning to the end. They took accurate measurements. Overall it was a great project. They completed on time. I expected it to take a couple days. The finished in one day, but it was late.

On the installment they told me they were going to make the fence even, but it's no longer uniform. They had, in writing, given me a lifetime warranty. There are some issues, and they're not honoring it. They gave me some parts, but now they've been running me around for around six months. He ended up telling me "You can go to Home Depot and buy it there." But what happened to my lifetime warranty? Additionally, they made some repairs some time ago that didn't go well either. I paid them $245 for said repairs and they left it the same way. They're just bad news all together. Finally, the fence that they've insured with the lifetime warranty isn't a type of fence they make. I don't recommend the PVC fences for the money they charge. They just don't stand by their word.

I called and set up an appointment early June and the Rep (Ray) was right on time.  He provided me with the estimate and all the information I needed to make a decision.  The fencing was a privacy fence and the panels were 6' x6' so 10 panels were needed and 11 post.  He explained that they use a high grade cement which is mixed and poured not the quick set type.  This fence was not the normal vinyl fence it was a 3 dimensional look of stone and finished the same on both sides so neighbor got the same look as we did.  The fence was more expensive than a plain vinyl fence but we wanted something different and this was it.  You can see it at their website or at the Simtek (manufacturer of the fence) web site.

The work was scheduled for 7/12 and the team showed up at 8am as promised.  the 2 guys went right to work, Steve was the leader and was very good in explaining everything they would be doing.  They had on of those scopes on a tripod to assure the fence would be level on top.  There was a 4 inch difference from one end of the run to the other.  We decided to keep the fence level on top and we would fill the gap along the bottom with dirt and mulch to make the bottom of the fence appear even to the ground.  They spent the next 4 hours installing the fence and did a great job.  The fence looked beautiful and the cleaned up all leftover debris and leveled the ground with the dirt from the holes that were dug for the post.  A great job and we couldn't be happier. We have already rec'd a lot of rave reviews from everyone who has seen the new fence.

Sent a request for a quote outlying the dimensions of the fence needing replaced and asking for prices for both vinyl and wood fencing. The email was sent to the address provided on their web site. Ten days later I had still not heard a peep from northeast fence. While I could have called or sent a follow up email I didn't much see the point. I took this as a sign that this was either a company who was not interested in my business or had trouble communicating with their customers.

They were terrible. I asked for an atomized invoice and they would not provide that. They also miss measured. The guy did not understand what I wanted and the person just wanted to replace the excising fence and that was not what I had spoken to the person on the phone about. Their contractor that came out was unprofessional and kind of trashy. He brought his two sons and left my yard a mess. I gave him 200 bucks to remove a brick barbeque. The fencing company said what he did was not affiliated with original work and now your stuck. I now have to remove the grill by my self. It took them over a month to do weekend job to remove and replace the fence. They also wanted to charge my $500 buck for their miss-measurement. I sent them a diagram about how I wanted the fence and they still mess it up. They also ran out of material and they told me it was in back order. It was a just a mess.

The men came to the house much later than expected because they had a rush job before hand. (We didn't know this at first.)  When they did arrive, they explained what they were going to do then got to work right away and stopped when the sun went down.  Most of the fence went up on the 29th, but had to come back on the 30th to repair the existing gate and put the finishing touches on the fence they installed.  They made sure everything worked before leaving.  We are very pleased with the work and the fence and would use their services again if needed.

Northeast Fence & Iron Works Inc. gave me a good estimate. They gave me fair estimates. I had to make a decision on when the work should be done. They were very courteous. They came when I called. They responded and went out. Whenever I was ready, I would just give them a call.

Northeast Fence & Iron Works Inc first came out they had a nice sample of wood. When the wood came out, they set the post the next day, it was twisted and they assembled the planks on the wood fence here. One of the planks were twisted and bent and I took a picture and I wouldn't recommend them to build a doghouse to somebody. They're horrible and very unprofessional. They were nasty. We took them to court just to get $2500 of our money back. Now, we have to get a new fence. They were way over-priced.
Response from Northeast Fence & Iron Works Inc

"We strongly disagree with [member name removed] comments. We installed a quality fence on his property in 2008. If he was so dissatisfied with the fence and our work, why is the fence still standing today? He never had it replaced because there was nothing wrong with the product or our workmanship. Unfortunately you cannot please everyone. We have been in business for over 42 years and stand behind all our work. We install approximately 2,000 fences per year and have had very little disappointed customers. We take pride in our work and our commitment to our customer's satisfaction, which is evidenced by the other ratings listed on this site."

The work was not contracted out and was done by their own staff. They were courteous and friendly and appeared to have had a good deal of experience. Our yard was somewhat complicated in tying into another fence. We did stick around in case in there would be any confusion as to how we wanted the fence to be installed (so it would also give us security). When a few issues came up, we talked about it and they very willingly went the extra mile to make our back yard secure from intruders. They cleaned up the debris at the end. We were very satisfied with their work and would highly recommend them to others.

They were very busy that time of year and they explained that we would be a fill-in.  So we knew anyway the posts would have to dry y before the fencing could be installed. It was only a few days a couple hours each day before completion but we knew that. Again great job and good price!

My experience with them was wonderful and they were really good. They promised to be here at a certain and they were and they also checked with my husband to make sure everything was the way he wanted it. He had a couple of things that he wanted changed and they changed it. They were just prompt and friendly and I really would deal with them again.

Very happy with my services.  I called for an estimate, someone came out within a couple days, showed up on time, very friendly and nice.  Listened to me, offered suggestion, asked questions. Wrote out estimate(which i thought seemed high, until i got another estimate) told me it would be about two weeks until they would be able to do it. I called about two weeks later to set it up. In two weeks i received a phone call saying someone would be out that morning. About two hours later two men showed up, advised us to close our windows on side of house because they would be drilling concrete. We did, and about two hours later they were finished. Went out as they were finished they warned us to stay away from the concrete, and we discussed payment. Off they went
