Bathtub Installation and Replacement

UPDATE 2/2/25: In addition to my initial review, I want to confirm that Mr. Invanishyn never gave me a refund after telling me multiple times "the check is in the mail." He is unprofessional and frankly a scammer. Under no circumstances would I hire him for any reason! ORIGINAL COMMENT: Caulking around tub - 15 mins. I accessed your site for work in my bathroom to include switching out faucets on the sink and tub and caulk around the tub. Oleg Ivanishyn from No LImit Home Improvement responded and came to my home on 11/26 to look at the bathroom and give me a quote. He arrived on time and was pleasant and gave me a verbal quote. I asked him to get a contract to me and he said he would. The work could not start that week due to the Thanksgiving holiday and the fact that I was waiting for some of the fixtures to be delivered. But, he said he would be happy to caulk the tub right away to avoid any water damage. He had to go and get the caulk and would come back but before he left he said he needed a deposit. I wrote him a check for $200 and he left and came back, caulked the tub and agreed he would send me the contract and we would arrange a date for the work when all the fixtures arrived. Later that day, when doing some banking, I realized he cashed the check I gave him when he went to get the caulking (not sure the ink was dry and it appeared to me he was in need of money.) On Saturday, 11/30 he texted me and asked me to call him. Returning his call, he asked me for an additional deposit. I was very surprised at this and refused reminding him he hadn't even started the work yet. He was apologetic and said he didn't want to offend me or upset me. At this point I began to feel uncomfortable about my choice of contractor but had already given him a deposit and decided to follow through. I want to make it clear that I understand people have needs and might be in hard times but this, in a way, a red flag. The following Sunday, 12/1, I texted Oleg to tell him the fixtures would arrive the coming Thursday, 12/5. He acknowledged the email and said he would put it on his schedule. On Monday, 12/2, I texted him to remind him that I needed the written contract and his license and proof of insurance. He said he would send it that day. No word from him and I again texted him on Wednesday, 12/4 that I never heard back from him. He said he would bring the paperwork in the morning (Thursday) when the work was to begin and said he'd be here at 9:00 am. He never showed. When I texted him later that day about taking my deposit and not showing up he was very apologetic and said he got me confused with another customer, that his transmission went out in his vehicle the day before, that he had to drop his wife off for a cleaning job (and stated he tried to give the documents I asked for to the customer who seemed to be confused about it) but he could come to do the work on Friday, 12/6. Again, was pleasant and said he would come to do the work on Friday, 12/6. I told him that this was not working out and I would be happy to pay him for caulking the tub and a drain and he left here for the job but I did not want him to do the work. He said he would stop by on Friday to give me a refund but I told him not to come, just mail me a copy of his receipts for the parts and a check for the refund. He said he would do that right away.
