Horrible work! I've waited years to post this because Scott Viola is a scary person. We hired him to do sand and refinish our hardwood floors. He and his team came and immediately began using foul language. They were cursing and sounded like a dysfunctional family. He did all the work in one day, put the furniture back the next day. It left marks everywhere the furniture touched. He came back and was cursing that there were marks everywhere. He fixed a few and then cursed saying there were too many. After three months we paid another company to redo his work. We never attempted to contact Scott Viola for restitution because he was quite frightening. Never, ever hire this company!!

The price was very competitive. They were neat and clean. They came at the agreed upon time and they did a great job.

Nick Viola arrived an hour late with only one other worker - not the team of four that we expected. He complained that his equipment was stolen and the sander he borrowed was harder to work with than his regular sander. When he sanded he didn't get all of the varnish/stain from where the boards met. New stain won't take in those areas. He scarred the edges of the wood in the rooms he wasn't doing. In one corner area of the kitchen about a foot square he didn't even try to get the varnish off. He took a couple of other shortcuts in the sanding, including our foyer closet entry.

He had stained the kitchen and part of the dining room by the time we saw it. The color was dramatically different than our other floors. We asked him to stop, so that we could get a grip on what was going on before it got any worse. It was then about 5:00 PM, and he was in a hurry to finish. He wanted to get two coats of urethane on that night before he left!

He became indignent. He claimed the color matched the molding and was attractive. He claimed that we told him the color was Gunstock and that's what he got. He claimed it was our fault that the color didn't match. He then said that it didn't matter, because our stairway was an entirely different color and looked weird. He then suggested we do the other rooms in the same color as what he had started, so all of the floors would match.

We asked him to leave, so that we could all calm down and get a fresh perspective. We called later and left a message that we were putting the job on hold until we could sort things out. He showed up the following morning at 7:30. We told him that we didn't want to go forward until we could get things sorted out. He continued being confrontational, and we asked him to take his equipment and materials and leave. I gave him an additional $300.00. He asked for another $100.00 to pay his associate, and I gave it to him. I'm sorry now that I gave him anything.

After he left, we found additional things showing his disrespect for our house from soda cans in the bushes to sawdust over our furniture due to his not covering the furniture and non work areas as he had promised. Everything he did was half baked- Poor quality.

We have since had professionals out to look at our floors who told  us in detail what and how they will do our floors and fix what Nick Viola did. They showed us things that needed to be fixed that we hadn't even noticed. Stay away from Nick Viola at any price.
