He replaced the waste/drain pipe in front of my house. Over my objections he relocated the vent pipe that was next to the curb to the middle of the sidewalk. The concrete he had poured was substandard. The concrete was so wet raw water was running from it as it was being poured. The concrete cracked and peeled a week after it was put down. The man who finished the concrete did a poor job of that also. He did a Roseate finish on the new concrete which did not resemble the existing concrete. When I complained Mr D stated he doesn't guarantee the concrete.

Toilet had to have workers return and problem was fixed without extra charge and is now very good. The second time there was a problem and the owner himself came out and settled things politely and well and to our satisfaction. Would recommend highly.

Nothing but fast, efficient, friendly service. Sometimes even the owner will come out. They've been over to my rental at least 3 times in 6 months-and each time the price is fair, and the work is excellent. I never thought I'd call a washer/dryer hook-up gorgeous, but all that copper is a thing of beauty. Work has included a new expansion tank install, gas and water line installs, drain cleaning, and a weird shower/faucet valve troubleshooting visit. You get a return call normally the same day, quote and work within the same week! I refer anybody and everybody, love these guys. When I have to leave the technicians in my home I do so without a moment's pause, and I don't even bother with a second quote - at least twice now, if work didn't have to be done they have said so up front. If it were free I'd call them all the time! Highly recommend - waiting on a callback for my next service! (Price is a guesstimate)

I went throught a lot of estimates for what I thought was a small leak in my basement. the pipe that was leaking was connected to a radiator. Mr. D's plumbing was the only plumber that told me he had to drain my heating system before doing anything with the pipe which was what made the most sense to me. He took the time to explain everything that he had to do.
He was on time and began working right away but he ran into a huge problem and handled it very well. The radiator was not mounted in the ceiling properly and the bolts were loose. He called his boss immediately and advised that no one goes into the basement until his boss comes. His boss discussed my options and I chose the safest one. to have it removed. They secured it for the night, the plumber took his time, I could tell he wanted to make sure it was extra secure.
The next morning a crew of guys came out to remove the radiator, and the plumber capped the pipes and finished the job. he also made recommendations to me about my heater.
overall everyone I worked with was professional, polite, and they knew what they were doing. I liked the fact that they had the man power available for my unexpected issue.

To replace this valve, the shut-off valve outside at the street must be turned off. The plumbers attempted to secure this valve, which is 70+ years old and was burried under rock, dirt and debris in an access hole. Unfortunately, they were unable to turn off the water at the street because of the debris in the hole, and the condition and age of the valve. The street level valve would have to be replace at my expense, if the leaking shut-off valve in the house was to be replaced. The expense of digging up this valve (3 feet under a concrete sidewalk) would have been in the $1200 - $1500 range. The plumbers offered an alternate solution. They attempted to stop the leaking by tighening down on the packing nut of the leaking valve, they stopped the leak. In order to never disturb this valve again, which could potentially start the leak again, permenantly... a new ball valve was placed just passed the water meter in my basement. They were able to complete this solution quickly and flawlessly. I am sure this saved me from a major expense.

It went well. Mr D's determined that my water service line was intact and they returned my $1200 deposit and informed the City of Philadelphia that the water leak was not from my property.

The blockage was cleared and the sewage flowed normal again.

I wasn't informed that the job would be subcontracted to another plumber. The truck had no company identification and the plumber and helper did not wear any uniforms. The plumber appeared to be very knowledgeable.

The vent cover had to be cemented in place since it didn't align properly with the extension pipe to the main sewer line. The cement started to crack after the first winter.

They were very thorough and asked me to have a wall removed before they gave me the estimate. First there was one problem that they fixed on the second floor up and then they saw another on the third floor up that they also fixed. I liked that they were on time and they gave me a decent estimate. They were also thorough in checking out what the problem was. They just came out and then cleaned up well afterwards. It was good and they were here on Friday and Monday. I would tell other members that they were knowledgeable and thorough to see what they problem was to give me an estimate. They also did the work efficiently.

Two (2) plumbers showed up for the project which was good because I did not need to provide assistance. They were on time and cleaned the pipe with no issues. Another plumber attempted to clear the pipe prior to Mr. D's and was not successful. I was extermely happy with the service that they provided.

The lead pipe to curb stop leaked badly, estimate by several contractors, from $3,100 to $4,500, when Mr D give $2,500. other 2 contractor comes lower prices, but not dependable. 2 weeks passed, called Mr D again, respond very prompt and profesionally, did exellent job on time. this is 3rd time we have mr Ds do the major street job like this, all finished in a saticefied way.

Mr D's did a great job. In fact, better than I expected. I actually had another plumber check the same problem a week ago. I was told that the pipe had to be replaced for $1500.00 dollars and nothing else could be done. I started seeking a Home Improvement Loan to cover the $1500.00 job. I wanted another opinion so I checked Angie's list and called Vincent Goffredo Plumbing and spoke to Eric Kassab who referred me to Mr. D's. Mr. D's sent Larry and his helper who cleared the drain and yes, Larry said the pipe does need to be replaced, but now I am able to use my washer, turn on water in the tub and sink, and flush my toliet without my driveway being flooded. I highly recommend Mr. D's, I will be getting Mr. D's to repair my pipe in the future.

I had a heck of a time getting someone here to do the work. Seems like it's a busy time of year for plumbers and drain cleaners. I was a bit annoyed because I called Mr. D's on a Tuesday evening, talked to their answering service person, but never got a call back. Had to call back myself Thursday morning; the receptionist apologized and explained that sometimes the boss doesn't get or check the evening messages. I dunno about that, but Thursday afternoon Timmy and Toni called and said they'd be there in 15 minutes, and they were. Timmy and Toni were great. They answered all my little curious questions, they were personable and courteous, and they got the job done efficiently.

When they came out to give an estimate they saw that the old lead water service ran out the back of the house to an alley there. The alley was undergoing construction and they said I had to wait until they were done laying the new city pipes in the alley before replacing the water service. When the city crew finished the alley (over 2 months later) I called and scheduled Mr D's to come replace the service. When they arrived and looked at the alley they realized that there was no water service in the alley and that we had to replace it through the front and they needed to reschedule the work again. When they finally did the actual work they said they'd put the service towards the side of the basement wall to make sure it wouldn't interfere with a rounded window well in the front of the basement. However, they ended up putting the service directly through the middle of the rounded window well. They also did not fully repair or clean up the area of the basement wall that they punched the service through.

We originally thought we just had a clogged drain at the end of our driveway. But two plumbing companies could not clear the drain. The first one said we had a busted lateral and that it would cost about $10,000 to fix. The second one said it was just a curb trap and gave me a $3,500 estimate. In the end the first one was right. We checked Mr. D's out online after going thru a utility loan program to pay for the work. Owner Mike Ditty was great on phone, talking me thru the work. They showed up on time. Worked for 13 hours to make sure everything was finished in one day. Cleaned up really well. Came back within 4 days to cement my driveway, much sooner than they said originally since they knew it was my driveway. Considering we only bought the house in May, this was a real headache. But Mr. D's was great. Very professional. They were wonderful on the phone answering all my questions before and after the job. I couldn't have asked for a better company to work with.

My sister recommended this plumber. I was happy to see that they were listed on Angie's List. Very fast and efficient service. I called on a Monday, got an estimate on that Tuesday and the work was performed the following Monday. Chris set no particular time to come but knew I would only be available until 3 pm. He kept me updated on his arrival time and indeed came and did the repair by 3 pm. The next day I noticed a small leak from the safety relief valve. I talked to Chris and he indicated that the system had probably been refilled with too much water. He planned to return and drain some of the water but I was able to do it myself. One thing that is not mentioned in the company profile, is that they do charge $45 for the initial visit and estimate. However, that $45 is deducted from the price if you have the work done.
