Mina Motors

Work was fine, however after we got the car back there was a receipt on the floor for breakfast from a McDonald's about a half mile away. I know they sometimes take a car out for a road test, not sure why on an inspection, but the time on the receipt was 20 minutes after my wife dropped the car off. I called the shop and asked to speak with the owner about this, was told he would call, but still waiting on that call. A simple acknowledgement of my concern would have gone a long way.

Very personable office manager who called very quickly to schedule the inspection. The safety inspection failed my front brakes & rotors (which I had expected) and the owner called with clear information about the work that was needed and the cost. The front pads & rotors cost $300, which I thought was a very fair price. The inspection was $65 using the Angie's List deal, which was comparable to other places in the city.
It turned out that my car battery died during the course of the work, which was not entirely a surprise given that I was six years old, but a strange coincidence nonetheless. The owner quoted me $200 to replace the battery. I declined the work due to the price and he politely offered to jump the car so I could get it off the lot.
All in all, Mina Motors has very polite and upright staff, one of the cleanest garages I've been in, and seem to do good work. I'll probably return again.

Very conveniently located in Center City - took my car here for state safety inspections. Great customer service - every single person I interacted with was very friendly, professional, and honest (and non-condescending), and the service was fast, all of which is especially appreciated when you're a woman with a busy job! They even buffed out some minor scratches on one of my car doors without charging me! I will definitely be returning for future services!

• They are always courteous, easy to drop off the car and they called when to pick up.  My family has used Mina Motors for years they are very reputable and fairly priced.  Will continue to use them. Great people to deal with.

Went as expected

Professional, honest and courteous. 

I have had my automobile serviced at Mina Motors six times since 2013. Repairs and inspections were all completely promptly. Wholeheartedly recommend these good people.

Really friendly customer service; I was able to drop the car off the night before in the adjacent church parking lot. They were great about staying in touch, friendly, courteous. Clearly a good garage. I'll be back.

I had an Angie's list coupon for $65 for an inspection and emissions. I dropped off the car, no problem. They said they'd call me when it was finished. The close at 5:30. By 4:45 they had not called so I called them.  Car was done, no problem.  Went to pick it up.  $65 + a $4 "supplies" charge. I asked what supplies.  They add $4 to every invoice for supplies...rags...getting rid of oil, etc.  None of those applied, of course, to an inspection, but if the coupon was for $65, it should have cost $65.  Even though $4 is not a lot of $$, it felt sort of "bait-and-switch."  Plus they didn't call. If you tell a customer you're going to call, you need to call.
Just left a not great taste in my mouth.  Lots of other places to go for an inspection.

They diagnosed my problem quickly and had my car fixed and on the road within an hour and a half.  They were very courteous and helpful and made sure to explain my problem and give me options to fix it.  I chose the more expensive battery so to avoid this problem again in the near future.

It was a wonderful experience.  I made the call and brought it in.  Within just a few hours they had completed the mandatory inspection and installed new brakes.  Best of all their price was half as much as I was quoted at the dealership.  I finally have a shop that I can trust to bring in my car.

We were traveling in borrowed a friends car when the engine over heated.  We had our car towed to them as they were the nearest to us, and are super happy with the honest folks at Mina Motors!

I was given a price for the water pump, when the bill finally settled a $300 water pump became a $500 water pump. I had been using Mina Motors for all my repairs, but a consistent pattern was emerging. I would be given an estimate, and the final bill would be much larger. The issue with the water pump was the final straw.

The entire process was all and all painless and I was informed and notified of any changes or adjustments that may have come up. Mina Motors told me that they would never assume to go ahead and do any work that I may not want or be able to afford. They recommended I drop my car off the next day as early as possible, they open at 8am. Interestingly  they do not take or make appointments, they operate on a first come first served bases which is very  accommodating . And got to pick up by end of same day. My cars' trouble was not extensive required a few new parts and a change of fluids and the sort but got it back in the same day is my wow point trying to convey. Over all my first hand  experience was extremely pleasing and I will now make them my regular car's mechanics.  As a single mom, with merger funds, I highly recommend this  Auto Repair Shop and the incredible crew who works there,  just off the corner of Broad and Fitzwater.

Let's face it; finding an honest reliable auto mechanic makes life a lot easier. This is the place! I first went to Mina Motors 20 years ago because I lived nearby. They were honest, professional, knew their craft, and understood customer service. The pride they took in their  work was evident in having the cleanest work bay I've ever seen. After 9 years in which I happily went without a car I bought one several years ago. I brought it to Mina for an oil change and 50K service, and was happy to see that nothing had changed. It is still the best service shop I've dealt with, and wouldn't consider another mechanic, even though I don't live in that neighborhood anymore. My latest service was bigger than most, but was completed on time. There are no appointments, but work is almost always done same day.

called them up to see if they had an opening. available right away. they have a big secure lot to leave your car. I needed the oil change done by a certain time and they finished an hour early and called with an update to let me know. Also had a coupon for a free tire rotation which they mentioned would only be done if necessary which was fine by me ( rather not do anything unnecessary). Turns out tires did need to be rotated, which they gladly did. Great customer service from start to finish. Honest and dependable.

I needed a state inspection for a car purchased in New Jersey. I looked to Angie's List for a reliable auto shop and chose Mina Motors based on reviews. I was not disappointed. I brought the car in the day after I called. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable, they didn't try to sell me any unnecessary services, the work was done promptly and at a reasonable price. It's reassuring to have a reliable mechanic and I will definitely use them for any future car service.
