Not well it takes forever for him to return your call when you have a leak. I had a leak on Sunday they said he would be out on Tuesday and never showed up. I kept calling and never got anywhere with it. Had another roofer come out took pictures of the roof . It is really bad. Will not recommend him to anyone. I have a 20 year warranty that is no good because he does not come out. Very poor business.

Note: This review is for Affordable Roofing, which is owned and operated by Gary McGinnis, same as McGinnis Roofing! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE I beg you... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! March 28, 2016, my new rubber roof with a 20 year guarantee was installed by Bill. Less than 4 months later, I notice a leak in my new ceiling during the rainfall. Our delightful new contractors scurried up to the roof the next day to see what could be the problem (knowing our roof had just been done). Well, well, well not only did they NOT seal around the stack pipe (runs through the bathroom) which is where the leak was coming from, but they left the slag stones from the original roof that they told me were removed!!! As discussed and written in the contract, they were to be removed! I asked for pictures upon the completion of the roof and the pictures they sent indicated very neat work and no sign of slag on the roof. Apparently they moved it to a neighbor's to lay down the roof and take pictures, then put it back on our roof when they were finished. Unbelievable. Anyway, I called the very next day after the leak and Susan, the woman who answers the phone said she would have Joe call me when he gets back to the office later that day. She also requested I send my pictures (yes I have pictures) to a separate number. I did that. I even texted a copy of the contract/warranty to confirm slag removal. No response. No return call. It's the following day and I've called three times total between yesterday and today, left one voicemail requesting they can back as it's an emergency, and now they've blocked me. I just had a friend call and they picked right up! No bueno. Stay far away! This company cannot possibly run an honest business, offering a 20 year guarantee and ignoring their customers when there's an issue. Not to mention lying about the actual work completed and banking on customers not going up to the roof to check their work... or lack there of.

After a couple of weeks of the roof being installed, my second bedroom was still leaking after a rain.  I contacted Affordable Roofing on several occassions in which I was told that someone would come out but I was never given a day or time.  At this point, I could not keep calling them due to my hectic work and school schedule at the time.  However, the problem of the leak had gotten worse.  Nevertheless, I did contact Affordable Roofing again and they told me that someone would come out, again no day or time.  The next time I had called, I had to act like I was inquiring about an estimate on a new job.  That's when the boss Bill came out and I had told him what happened.  He looked at the back of my house and told me that I had a second drain box that was causing the leak and that it had to be removed.  So I had to pay to have the drain box removed (on 8/11/2011) in which I thought that all the old drain boxes were removed and the roof was under warranty.  At this point, the leak did stop and  I thought everything was fine with the roof.
Well, after a  month or so my next door neighbor was getting an estimate on their roof  in which the roofer told them that your neighbor (me) has a lot of water on their roof. My neighbor contacted me to let me know in which I contacted Affordable  Roofing again to see what the problem was due to that I had a warranty.  Well, it got to the point of  having a friend of mine call them to get them to come out to my house because I had called for months and never received a response.  Finally, the boss Bill came out a month ago and looked at the back of my roof in which I had showed him a picture of the roof that my neighbor submitted to me.  He stated that I had a lot of water on the back of my roof and that half of the roof would have to come up and be leveled off and a new rubber roof would have to be installed on the back part of the house.  At this point, I had told him that I have a 20 year warranty on the roof in which he responded that he would have to talk to his partner.  At this point, I am still waiting after months of trying to get this problem resolved. And in the meantime, I have a little pond on my roof.  I am totally fed up with this company.  They have not showed any professionalism in responding back nor honoring their warranty to their customers.  My STRONG suggestion is to PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF THIS ROOFING COMPANY.

They were timely. I contacted them, and they came after a couple of days and gave me a quote. Their estimated price was $3000. It was competitive, but I just did not go with them because I had read some very negative reviews. Overall, my experience with them was good. They were responsive and nice, and there was no problem. I would consider contacting them again in the future.

They did not stand behind their work.  Their diagnosis of the problem was wrong with the roof, which was causing the leak.  They performed their solution, which did not work and now they are going to charge me again for another repair attempt.

After McGinnis replaced the roof the first time, at a cost of about $3,000, the leaking stopped for about six months. They returned twice to "patch" the brand new roof they had installed. Again, this only worked for about two months. Next, they told me my skylights were the incorrect type for a flat roof. I paid them another $2,500 to replace two skylights, which rather quickly began to leak as well. They returned several more times, using roofing cement to "patch" around the skylights. This worked for about three heavy rains each time. After my next call to them, I was told the leaking was all stemming from my improperly installed vinyl siding. I then paid them approximately $2,000 to replace all of my vinyl siding. Everything was fine for about one year, then the floodgates opened again. Again, they came and "patched" my roof with roofing cement. That held for another three heavy rains. The next time I called, I threatened legal action. I was then told that the whole problem is due to windows being improperly installed. This after three years, $8,000 and well over $10,000 in interior damage to my home.

My insurance company is now taking legal action. Upon further investigation, I found that there are several pending lawsuits in Philadelphia Municipal Court in which McGinnis Roofing is the defendant. My advice: STAY AWAY

I purchased my home about 1.75 years ago, and after the severe storms of this spring, I thought I better check on my roof.  Fortunately, the previous owners left all the paperwork, and I discovered that Affordable Roofing installed the current roof.  I called and asked them to check it out.  They were polite and helpful, and informed me as to when they would check on the roof.  I did not even need to take time off from work; they came, checked on it, and gave me a call with a detailed assessment.

We arranged for the work to be done on the afternoon of May 12.  Unfortunately, I gave them my office phone number (which forwards to my cell phone after a couple of rings) as my contact number, but the office lines went down and I was not notified of this.  Meanwhile, Affordable Roofing tried to call me to let me know that one of their projects was taking too long and they would not be able to get to my house that day, but they could not get in touch with me because of my office's phone problems.  This meant that I was waiting at home for roofers who would not show up.

When I finally emailed the office on an unrelated matter, they told me that my phone was down, so I called Affordable Roofing.  They were very apologetic, even though it largely was not their fault.  They asked if they could come in on the afternoon of May 13, and when I hesitated a little because of another commitment I had that day, they said they could make it their first project of the day and finish up before I had to get to work.  They were at my house bright and early on May 13, and they called me a couple of times to make sure that the time was OK and when they expected to arrive.  As promised, they were done in less than an hour.  It was not an easy roof to get to, as I own the rear section of the multi-unit building and it is a full story lower than the front section.  However, they handled the job without complaint and finished within the time promised.

All told, aside from the delay which was exacerbated by my office phone problems, everything was done as expected and promised.  I imagine I would have been able to find a slightly cheaper bid, but given how pleased I was with their service and quality of work, I didn't mind not going with the lowest price.

They were great. I did not even know they did the work. I was out when they did the work. The owner called me to get the balance money and I asked him if he even did the job and he said he had. I went up to the roof to see that he had done the job. They did a very good job.

It went well. The worker came to my house on Friday, Oct. 29th to access the work to be done at 5:30 am. then they called me Saturday, Oct. 30th to let me know that they would start the work on Tues., Nov. 2nd. and they came bright and early to start the work at 8:30 am and by 1:00 pm the work was done.

It started out as a very pleasant experience, then I noticed a leak that had caused some water damage. I could have either left the water damage there or paid $600 to have it fixed. I was in a tough situation because he could have charged me whatever he wanted since we had already agreed for him to do the roof. Also, the contract stated that almost anything that could go wrong with the roof would not be covered.

Affordable took about a half a day to work for me. I thought they used good time management skills. I would call myself a completely satisfied customer. I would tell others they are a great company and I was really happy to have found them listed on Angie's List. They live up to the good things people say about them so I can see why they are a pretty popular company in this area.

I never knew a gutter cleaning service to rake around the house as well, but they did put most of it on the ground themselves though. I think it took them about an hour and a half to finish. There were two people doing the work. My gutters did seem to drain better when it rained outside the week after this was done.

The property still has a leak. My attempts at getting them out to take care of this have been frustrated by their inability to show up or even communicate as to when they will be out. I am never sure whether they simply went and climbed on the roof from the street, but since it still leaks, I believe that they have simply ignored my call to repair it.

THEY DID NOT REPAIR EITHER AND MADE A MESS ON NEIGHBOR'S DECK AND DID NOT COME BACK AFTER PROMISING TO RETURN SEVERAL TIMES. WE NEEDED TO HIRE 2ND ROOFER TO CONTINUE THE WORK AND DEAL WITH NEIGHBOR'S COMPLAINT. A DISASTER.
