They were very thorough, worked clean and neat, they explained everything to us about the job, and had all my questions answered and very courteous.

They did an OK job but they just mowed the lawns. Right after I called Locke Woodfin (he did the onsite estimate) to let him know the job was not complete. I went ahead and paid the bill. I didn't think twice about it because I worked with them years before and there were no problems. Also we've been having so much rain I figured they would get to me when we had less rain. I have been calling and calling. Some of the work was done on 8/1/18 and I paid on 8/2/18. Today is 8/28/18 and I have not even had the courtesy of a return call from Locke or anyone other than the nice lady who runs the office telling me she'll take another message. On Friday 8/24/17 she said she would give my message to the boss, still no call to schedule to finish the work. At this point I'm not going to call anymore because it's clear they are unprofessional. They just took the money and did not finish the job.

They did an outstanding job. They arrived on time. They removed the tree in about 4 hours. A second team removed the stump on the same day. Both crews cleaned up before they left. I had nothing to do. I would definitely recommend them.

I contacted McFarland's for some yard work needed. I need to have my lawn leveled and some pavers laid. Things started well, I made an appointment within the week of me contacting them. The rep, Locs, showed up early and walked through what was needed to be done and advised he would contact me with an estimate. This is where things went down hill. After 3-4 days of no contact I called and left a message with the nice lady who answers the phone. I received no call back. I called back again explained the situation left another message and still no call back. I called back 3 additional times and still haven't received a call back.

Peter McFarland is an excellent arborist. The quality of the work is excellent. My only concern is costs. They usually come in on high end of estimates.

I made an appointment for an estimate on Saturday. Peter McFarland arrived early. He gave me an itemized written estimate for the work I wanted done, I agreed on the price. He said the work would be done that week. Tuesday morning the men were at my house bright and early. They did a very nice job and cleaned up. What more could you ask for. Mission accomplaished.

It's sad that this company used to be great but has apparently grown too big and they've forgotten about quality in service and taking care of their customers :(
We've used McFarland for a few years and while we noticed the quality going down, this last trip really upset me. We called to get our peach tree pruned over a month before (when fruits were barely there) and so when they didn't come, I took matters into my own hands figuring they were too busy. So when they showed up unexpectedly (no call, nothing) 4 weeks later, we were surprised and not there to discuss what was best for the trees. The workers HACKED our poor little peach tree which had already produced a ton of great big fruit only weeks away from being ripe and made a mess. I'm talking green peaches EVERYWHERE and branches thrown all over my flower pots in my irises, just a clean up nightmare. So the peach tree is a sad disaster and then they go ahead and take the liberty of pruning two other trees which we didn't ask for and didn't have contracts for. Then they conveniently leave a bill for $600! We tried to talk to owner  to find a way to make this work even though I was so crushed about our peach tree but he just blew us off, guess they're too busy for customers now.

They did a good job, but mainly they were phenomenally responsive and did it in a big hurry when we needed it done. It was great! They did a good job. Although everything else was so great, I don't think the quality of their service was absolutely superb. I just thought it was good.
