Michael and his team were extremely respectful to our home and did an amazing job. We had the exterior of our home in Society Hill painted and they were very detailed but also fast/efficient. He's a great guy and we will definitely be working with his team again.

Mike and his guys were very responsive and did a great job. They put multiple coats of paint on the shutters and front door and were very thorough. They finished the worked in a timely manner and did a great job. I would definitely use Mike again for future painting needs.

Mike was very enjoyable to work with and we are very happy with the result. His work is extremely good; everything was thoroughly sanded and primed. He does not cut corners and goes above and beyond to create a very professional look. We will definitely use him again when we have interior painting to do. I would highly recommend Mike's work.

Michael and his crew painted the messy peeling front of my brick 3 story row house in center city. He provided a fast and fair estimate. I got a few estimates, his was probably the second lowest, but was also the most detailed in explaining everything. I was very comfortable with him right from the start. I was also impressed with his other Angies list posts from other satisfied customers.
He took care of everything, from calling PECO to get the wires covered, to permits and anything else that was necessary to complete the job. He was patient as I changed my mind and was slow to pick colors and order new shutters.
He took care of little details I would not have thought of, like touching up the historic fire plaque on my house - it really pops and stands out now. He provided guidance and advice on colors. I am totally thrilled and really think I have the best house on the block now! I am having the interior painted, and would not use anyone else but Michael!

Great experience. Mike worked with one other person (Jorge) so we never felt like our house was overrun. He was super accommodating in terms of keeping his materials contained when it was off-hours and working through the house in the order we requested, as well as working around some electrical work we had done while he was on site. Mike is extremely professional and it is clear that he cares that his clients are happy with the job he is doing. His follow-up was great, and his offer to come back and clean up any flaws we see after he is done was clearly genuine, although unnecessary since the job was done with such care in the first place. We recommend Mike without hesitation and will be hiring him again for any future painting needs we have.

We discovered Mike while he was doing a great job painting our neighbor's house. After speaking with him, it was clear that he takes pride in the quality of his work. We decided to hire him after visiting Shane's Confectionary in Olde City to take a look at an example of Mike's award winning work. Shane's is an early 20th century replica candy shop that had painstakingly been restored and is a testament to his skill and craftsmanship.
He agreed to do our job for a fair price and exceeded all of our expectations. Mike communicates effectively and truly wants his customers to be thrilled with the results. He continually checked in with us during the job to ensure that we were happy with his progress and to make any necessary adjustments. In the end, he did more than we asked, exceeded our expectations and made our house feel
more like a home. We have already received several compliments on the work.

Mike took painstaking care to do the job right. He removed the shutters and had them prepped and painted off site, ensured all rust was cleaned off of railings before repainting, and had damaged wood replaced rather than patched. He hunted for and found a missing piece for my antique door knob. Despite rainy weather that disrupted his plans, Mike found a way to fit in the work and complete the job on time.
If you want a high-quality paint job that will last you for years, be sure to give Mike a call. It was a pleasure having him work on my house.

If you are looking for a house painter with the highest standards, you need look no farther than Michael McCann.
We have an old house in the historic district of the city. Painting the house is always a challenge because there are many finicky details to contend with and inevitably unexpected problems arise because of the age of the house. Michael McCann was up to the task. He is extremely meticulous and has a great eye. In fact, he just won an award from the City for his work on a well-known landmark building in the historic district.
Michael gave us an estimate quickly. The estimate was extremely reasonable, especially considering that the job included careful preparation of the surfaces before painting, then a coat of primer, then two finishing coats. Michael called upon his crackerjack carpenter, Steve, to replace some rotting wood around a bulkhead door. Michael also repaired a crack in the front door and repainted the inside of the door as well. All of this was included in the estimate -- which was thousands of dollars less than some of the other estimates for much less work.
Once the job began Michael noticed some rotting wood very high up on the 4th floor dormer that a previous painter had just painted over, as well as some deterioration behind one of the shutters. After pointing out the problems and discussing it with us, he brought Steve in again to fabricate replacement wood and restore the weak areas. The job was done splendidly. Michael also restored a badly weathered historical insurance marker.
The house looks wonderful. The painting job is extremely crisp. Michael even cleaned the outside of the windows -- which we especially appreciated on the 4th floor dormer.
Michael started the work when he said he would, he worked in a careful, methodical way, and finished the job up punctually. We are very pleased with his work. In addition Michael is a very amiable person with a good sense of humor.
We will certainly use Michael again whether he want interior or exterior painting work done. We have complete confidence in him.

I called Michael for an estimate for the job a few weeks before I wanted him to start work. He got back to me in writing within a week about the estimate, which was comparable to other companies that I have used. As other reviewers have mentioned, Michael is a very pleasant, patient person and accommodated my need for a little hand-holding on this project. At the time I contacted him, I wasn't sure what colors I'd be using on my walls and asked for hints on choosing a palette. After looking at my space, he gave me great advice about working with architecture of the space and selecting interesting, modern shades that wouldn't become tiresome over time. Immediately before starting work, Michael checked in with me to make sure that I hadn't changed my mind about where I wanted each shade of paint that I had chosen. During the job, he repeatedly checked in to make sure I was satisfied with how things were going. Michael caulked the trim, and cleaned out and patched cracks in my ceiling. He painted the walls and trim as discussed and, in particular, did a flawless job on the new molding. Michael was in my house for about four days total - which was the amount of time he had estimated for the job - and left everything s**** and span when he left each day.

We called a number of painters in hopes of hiring someone to paint our house quickly before we moved in. Michael came the same night we called him, and worked nearly around the clock, finishing the job at 11 pm the night before move-in. We liked his work so much that we hired him to repaint our '70's era kitchen, including using porch-floor paint on yellow and brown tiled kitchen floor. He is meticulous, efficient, and a really nice guy. Our kitchen is totally transformed. He understood what we wanted overall, and brought paint samples he thought we'd like. We trusted him enough to let him choose the color for the bathroom after he heard the look we wanted.

We thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Micahel was extremely courteous to us and to our dogs, and very respectful of our home. We actually made a friend through this. His work is artistry personified.
