Here is what I appreciated the most about Maxi Windows: 1) Nick was professional and spent time going over current window technology. 2) He evaluated which windows were in dire need of replacement after inspecting them. 3) He used absolutely no pressure tactics to replace windows. 4) He was on time and replaced all my windows in less than a day without leaving any mess. 5) His capping craftsmanship was amazing and he took great pride in his work. 6) After having gone to many window showrooms, I stuck with his recommendation which was the best choice I made. 7) He was nice to our dog and mindful of her when opening doors. If you are looking for an honest and quality window replacement company that wont pressure you and change prices then call Maxi Windows.

It went amazingly well. Nick came highly recommended by a friend I know I could trust, and a couple of weeks of so before my husband and I decided to install a new front door, he and Nick picked the style we liked from a catalogue. Turns out the door we wanted took a bit longer than expected to arrive, but Nick was patient and understanding, and realized that these were circumstances beyond our control and was flexible when it came to rescheduling the installation. Once the door arrived, Nick asked me if I wanted to have it delivered or go pick it up, and I chose the latter. The door wouldn't fit in my husband's car, so Nick was so kind that he gave me a ride to pick up the door. He inspected it carefully, helped me choose the various types of handles, locks etc. that don't automatically come with the door, and he has very good taste. He's been to my house before to take all the required measurements, and knew the look that would compliment the porch and the door best, better than me, that's for sure (he told me to pick whatever I wanted, of course, but I'm no expert and it's my first house, so I'm not the best when it comes to color choices, so I asked for Nick's advice, and he kindly pointed me in the right direction).
The installation went very smoothly -for me, that is. I just went upstairs and let Nick and his colleague work, since I had other things to take care of and, once I realized how complicated the whole process was going to be, I'll admit that I got a little worried (I have very limited experience with any type of construction and any time I see exposed bricks, even minor demo, I panic), but I know I could trust Nick. It was just better to let him do his job without me being over the place freaking out. I did ask me (sorry, Nick) if he had done that type of work before, and he reassured me that I was in good hands, he knew what he was doing, and that I could just go ahead and relax.

Now, for those who aren't familiar with the whole remodeling experience, and who had to learn whatever they know the hard way, when a contractor scams them or does subpar work and you are pretty much required to either fix it yourself, or hire someone else to do the job, let me tell you, I wouldn't have left Nick alone with his colleague if I had not trusted him 100%. Before finding him, I'd had some really awful experience with a huge array of handyman, unlicensed, "oh-my-licence-just-expired" individuals. I'm not proud to say I had a contractor walk away with a few thousand dollars (recovered through a complaint to the attorney general, a number of phone calls to their insurance company, as well as getting lawyers involved). All those shows about contractors from h***, they are real. But Nick is simply different: I wouldn't even call him a contractor, but rather a highly specialized professional who operates to the highest standards of quality, work ethics, and overall customer satisfaction that are very hard to find these days.
Going back to the door, Nick and his colleague worked incessantly through the day and, after checking with my husband and I, continued working into the early evening. I'm sure he took breaks. I just don't ever recall going downstairs and seeing him not working. A far cry from those guys who are always on their phone, or take 20 cigarette breaks in 5 hours. Not Nick. After a long day at work the door was looking gorgeous and so was the screen. He told me he had to come back the following day to do some last touch ups, and he showed up promptly at the scheduled time (another thing: Nick is on time. I have talked to him about future projects and he always shows up on time, even just for a consultation: can you say the same of other people in the home improvement business? Because I know I can't, so I appreciate it even more). After a couple of hours of work, Nick was done with my front door and screen, gave me instructions on how to clean it, showed me how to use some of the features of the screen, cleaned up everything (dust, debris, which he'd already done the night before, but he's a perfectionist) and left. Every interaction we have had have been polite, courteous, professional and Nick really listens to what you're looking for and does everything in his power to make it happen. He's extremely knowledgable about materials, techniques, tools and every aspect of the job, and will advice you on how to take advantage of what you already have in your home to save you a little money if at all possible. His prices are fair and definitely worth the quality work you get. He's personable, friendly while remaining professional. Both my husband and I couldn't be happier with our new front door and screen and can't recommend Nick and Maxi enough! You won't be disappointed.
