mr. tran spoke very rapidly as if he did not want to listen to me. he over talked me. when I asked questions he ignored me. he did say that I can not afford to pay for the work. he was not willing to come look at the areas that need refinishing. mr. tranten on angies list , mr. tran says that he gives free estimates, mr. tran was not willing to show his before and after pictures of his work. mr. tran also hung up the phone in my ear while I was talking to him, and did not call back.

They were the only company who answered my call quickly and came out the day after I called. They gave a great estimate and ended up costing about half of what we expected to pay. The crew were very efficient and completed the job in 3 days. I did not have too much interaction with the staff. The owner was very friendly over the phone and my husband had very nice things to be about them. They were very concerned about me being happy with the job and we ended up very happy with the work.

Rich Tran provided me with a very reasonable estimate, and a detailed account of the work he would perform including replacing boards that were damaged beyond refinishing. He did everything as promised. His courtesy, punctuality, knowledge, and work ethic were exemplary. I couldn't be more pleased. The floors look amazing!

Excellent! Job completed as promised with excellent quality and in a very tight schedule. A lot of dog urine stain when the carpet was removed and they repaired that with excellent workmanship.

I did some research by calling several hardwood services with high ratings. The prices varied significantly- which I later realized was partly because some services include 2 coats of sealer, and some 3. We chose Matrix, because the owner (Rich) was extremely nice and responsive, and his prices for sanding and sealing w/ 2 coats of poly were the most reasonable I found. Rich called prior to our appointment to confirm, and showed up right on time each day. The first day, I threw him a curve ball and asked if he could also sand and seal our upstairs hallway. The hallway has several iron banister rails that require hand work to sand around them, but Rich said it would be no problem and only charged us $200 for this additional work. So at the end of the day we actually spent $1400, but it was totally worth it. It's been about a month now since our floors were done, and he haven't seen any flaws. Also, the job was done fast- just 2 days, which (as I mentioned) partially had to do with the fact that we only got 2 coats of sealer. Rich said we could walk on the floors after about 7pm each day, but most of the stuff we read online about sealer suggested we not walk on the floors for at least 24 hours- so we arranged to stay with friends and not risk it. I'm not sure if it would have been a problem if we'd taken Rich's advise and walked on them sooner, but I personally didn't feel comfortable doing so. Regardless, any oil-based sealer is going to make the house smell pretty toxic for awhile, so we actually waited 3 full days before moving back in- so that the house could air-out. All-in-all we were very satisfied, and I would defiantly recommend Matrix!

Awesome. Rich was responsive, professional and friendly from the first call I made to inquire about his services, through the quoting process and then performing the job with his crew. They were fast and yet the job exceeded our expectations. He's quoted the rest of the floors in our house which will have to be done in 2 other sessions due to budget reasons. He'll definately get those jobs as well. You should give them a shot at your job.

Rich came out to give us estimate slightly before scheduled time. He spent a good deal of time with us, answering questions and discussing how to deal with potential problems. His estimate was not the lowest that we got, but we felt comfortable that he knew what he was doing and had thought through all the potential issues. He told us that the job would take four days, and it did, two full days and two half days. Each day, Rich and his crew were prompt, professional and courteous. They did a good job cleaning up and working around furniture that couldn't be moved out. Floors look great and we are very pleased with the work.

Rich was extremely polite and very friendly. Got an estimate the same day and he came back a few days later and completed the whole job in less than two days. Not a single scratch or mark on any of my trim work, and I had some very tough corners! A very precision job, would definitely recommend to everyone.

Extremely bad hardwood Parquet floors. Stained and damaged by several leaks, pet urine and old carpet. First day, Rich did a number of repairs, second day consisted of sanding, 1/4 rounds and etc, Third and last day consisted of last buffing and last coating of poly.

Rich was punctual for the first site visit and quoted a very competitive price. When I called him almost a month later to schedule the job, he remembered me and recalled specific details of our conversation. On Day 1, he was punctual (early, even) and ready to go. The crew was professional and hardworking. Rich repaired holes and splinters, and minor flaws on baseboard. The finished product is gorgeous - the color application is even, and the poly finish is smooth with no streaks, brushmarks or footprints. I would recommend this company without hesitation, and I'll be calling them again to repair some bucked planks at my other house.

Fantastic job, even repaired my 90 year old floors with aged hardwood. Impossible to tell the floors were damaged. Punctual, professional, great attitude, and great price. I would highly recommend.

They sanded all the flooring in the entire house. My 120 year old face nailed heart pine floors were painted with thick old paint from previous owners. Argh! Other contractors I contacted from Angies list didn't even want to take the job, or wanted to charge thousands more. In a few days, Rich and his team sanded all 3 floors, 5 bedrooms, 2 long hallways, 2 staircases. I initially had them only do 2 floors and the staircases, but after seeing the job they did, I had them do the rest of the house. They did an excellent job, and got every speck of paint off, got in every corner, closet, nook and cranny. Came on time on the scheduled days. Cleaned up very well, and even gave me good advice on refinishing. My brother and I polyed the whole house, 3 coats no stain, and the floors look amazing.

I called Richard on 8/31/11. He came over in less than an hour. He looked at the work to be done and wrote an estimate for me that was neither the lowest nor the highest, but it was a fair price. Richard is very personable and has high standards of excellence. This is demonstrated by that fact that he came out a day earlier to prepare my home (cover my furniture) for the work to be done. He found a solution to help move my furniture around so that he could complete all the work at one time rather than in stages. Richard's work was fabulous. He was able to remove almost all of the grooves. The floor is clean, bright and evenly finished now. The corners, underneath the radiators and the staircase all look new. He replaced the damaged floorboards and the broken wood around my fireplace. It's beautiful. As an added value, Richard walked around my home with me and gave me tips on things that I needed to do prepare my home for sale. He ideas were very valuable. Rich performed an initial estimate and while it was slightly higher that others, we opted for him based on the recomendations of our neighbors. He was very responsive, answered all questions and addressed our concerns. We had difficult schedules during the week the work occured and Rich was very accomodating. I've given Matrix a "B" quality rating due to an excessive number of visible sanding marks in the floor.

Arrived quickly and did a pretty good job on the floors. Sanded it in an hour or two, then did one coat of poly. Came back the next day and did another. They look pretty good. Gorgeous, in fact, except in a few places which might be because of the floors themselves. My biggest complaint was that the dude seemed committed to making me feel stupid about something I did (admittedly: something stupid). Maybe he was having a bad day dealing with one idiot after another, and maybe his constantly repeating what I should have done differently was meant to emphasize the mistake so that I wouldn't do it again, and not to humiliate me, but I found it a little insulting. Perhaps I'm oversensitive. Probably. Regardless: the floors look very nice.

Richard was prompt, courteous and very professional. He was honest and up front with us. We own a 85 year old home, and these pine floors are the original floors to the house. My wife and I weren't sure if we needed a whole new floor or if the floor could be sanded and refinished. Richard didn't try to upsell us or talk us into getting a whole new floor -- he assured us that he could restore the floors without the cost of new flooring. And his estimate was far below others that we received. He and his partner showed up on time and finished the project in two days. They did a great job of keeping dust to a minimum, but the smell was pretty bad. We had Rich do the work while we were on vacation, which was a good idea -- even after coming home 3 days after Richard was done, the smell was still strong. Great work -- I would definitely hire again.

Richard was incredibly prompt! He was early/on time for the estimate and the actual installation. He came the day after I called to give a quote and did note require payment until the work was completed to my satisfaction. Within a week he came to do the installation and even worked with my schedule. He came at 7:30am to install the floor and was finished within two hours. He cleaned up everything and was very professional. I only wish that he had installed new wood floors everywhere in my house (!) as the stair landing looks so great. He paid attention to detail and installed the floor landing incredibly well.

All of this work was completed between our closing date and move-in date. Rich met me on time for estimate and stuck by his word 100%! His work was completed in one week, just as promised. In addition, several weeks later, Rich came back (FREE OF CHARGE) and repaired the floor where the movers had made major, deep scratches AND in another room where my husband had knocked over a can of paint and left for a whole weekend. I am so sorry to read the other poor review. I experieced the total and complete opposite. There must have been a miscommunication of sorts. I would give this company an A+ for every single part of the evaluation. Their work is WONDERFUL!

OVERALL, BASED ON THIS COMPANY'S POOR FOLLOW UP AND LACK OF COMMUNICATION, I WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I AM VERY DISPLEASED WITH THE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. HOW CAN I CONSIDER GIVING THEM BUSINESS WHEN THEY WON'T RETURN MY CALLS OR GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE?

RICH AND HIS CREW WERE EXCELLENT! HE WAS SO PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL, AND COURTEOUS. THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK; MY FLOORS LOOK NEW (ACTUALLY 80 + YEARS OLD)! HIS PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE AND HE DID NOT NICKEL and DIME US FOR MOLDING AND EACH REPAIR. I EVEN GAVE HIM A TIP, I WAS SO PLEASED WITH HIM!
