Our rowhome has a small entryway with a marble slab which was so dirty and damaged it was hard to tell it was marble. We found Brian through a recommendation. When Brian came to provide an estimate he was professional and polite. When we contacted him to schedule the work he was prompt in replying and came as scheduled. Due to the epoxy necessary for the cracks before, the job was spread over two days (first day: approximately two hours, second day: approximately five hours). The cracks were large and since the epoxy was going to show and this could not be avoided, Brian chose a color that matched the veins in the marble. Some of the scratches were so deep they could not be fully buffed out, but Brian had noted this before he began the work so this was expected. There was wood between the marble and floorboards that did not match our floorboards, these needed to be removed to restore the marble and we asked Brian to leave them off as we are having the floors refinished and wanted to get wood that better-matches the boards. Brian and his team went the extra step to put grout in some wholes/gaps between the marble and wall. They were professional and enthusiastic about their work, you could tell they really enjoyed the restoration process and seeing the beauty of the marble as it emerged from the dirt! Brian was informative and answered all questions, offered information he thought we might find helpful, and shared how he learned to do this work. We are pleased with the work, it was well worth the money.
Description of Work: Marble slab in entry foyer in rowhome was restored. There were two racks in the marble, so these were filled with epoxy. The surface was diamond honed to remove etch markings and abrasions and then diamond polished to restore clarity. Finally, the marble was sealed to protect the surface.
