We were disappointed with the quality of work, but assumed that it was an honest mistake. Mike was friendly upon initial estimate and we hoped to have them replace the plants that were taken out and complete the job that they started. Initially both owners denied any wrongdoing and refused to replace the plants that had been killed. Eventually they agreed to replant the plants that were taken out and finish the clearing work in the back of the house.
Unfortunately M & D never followed up with a time and ignored repeated phone calls. When we finally got them on the phone they refused to return to the site to complete the job stating that they did not have a written contract, so could not be held accountable. They are correct that we made the mistake of working with them in the absence of a written contract, but we were very disappointed that they were not willing to return to our home to complete the work at a higher level of quality. We are still willing to work with them to resolve the problem.
We would like to either have M&D return to our home to complete the work and repair the damage that was done (we believe it to have been a legitimate and honest mistake) or refund the full payment amount to cover the cost of paying someone else to complete their work and to cover the cost of replacing the damaged and destroyed plants. Hopefully the issue can be resolved quickly and honestly by the owners.
Our hope is to follow this review up with a description of the work that they did to address our concerns and regain our trust as customers.
