Litton Woodworking

I had been wanting to get my front doors refinished for some time. They were in desperate need for attention and had gone though a number of years of neglect. It's difficult to find a good woodworker. It's a skill that takes much attention to detail and a good bit of knowledge and experience. I saw Litton Woodworking listed online and decided to take a chance. I am so glad I did. Matthew responded immediately to my email and we set up a time for him to come out and take a look at the doors. He arrived right on time with Charlie and I knew right away these guys knew what they are doing. We scheduled the work and a week later I have beautifully refinished front doors. They took the doors off, one at time time and completely sanded, stained, and sealed them. They also sanded, stained, and sealed the archway which was no easy job since this required quite a bit of ladder maneuvering. The workmanship is perfect and the doors really do look fabulous. Litton is also making a
table for me and now I've asked Matt build a desk hutch for a large old oak antique school teacher's desk I'm going to use in my daughter's room. I am confident both the table and hutch will be perfect.

I knew my mom wouldn't get around to buying one, and I didn't want the flag to just sit in a drawer.  I'm not sure what I expected, but I expected something standard.  Matt asked me what kind of wood, color, engraving, etc., I had no idea he could do so much, or would even be willing to do so much for such a small order.  He gave me a lot of options without giving me too many.  I was able to keep it simple which is how my dad would have preferred it.
I liked the idea of a veteran making the case from scratch.  True craftsmen are rare.  I also liked the idea of having a disabled combat veteran do the work.  It all just seemed to connect and make sense.  It looked GREAT.  And in a world where so much is prefabricated, imported, it was really special to know that this was done for my mom in my dad's memory, and to know whose hands crafted the piece.  My mom loved it, and it is now proudly displayed in her apartment.
