KAPLANS FURNITURE

On 11/28/12 I ordered three chairs and an ottoman and today the final two pieces delivered. Dealing with Kaplans was a nightmare and a comedy of errors. It started out having to hound Mike Kaplan to get a confirmation of the order. They claimed that they had copies problems which delayed sending my order confirmation. The order finally arrived and it was an unprofessional hand written sheet. The only thing he did promptly was hit my credit card. There was no proactive follow up by Kaplans when we were well outside the promised delivery window. I kept getting a story that the factory was out of the material I ordered. After weeks and weeks of no information, I finally called the furniture manufacturer and I found out that " THEY NEVER HAD AN ORDER FROM KAPLANS FOR MY ITEMS". Finally, with the help of the customer service people at American Leather the order was placed. I think Kaplans has some serious credit/cashflow issues which drives strange behavior. The whole process was poorly handled and it's a wonder they are still in business.
