We were experiencing a water leak through the ceiling when the shower was in use in the en-suite bathroom adjoining our master beedroom. Mike was very responsive and quickly scheduled a visit to diagnose the problem. On the first visit Mike was very systematic in diagnosing the problem and quickly identified this as a leaking shower unit. Mike worked with us to order the required parts based on our requirements and was very transparent on the lead times for ordering new parts. Once the parts were available, Mike quickly set a follow up visit to complete the work. The work was completed efficiently, cleanly and to a very high standard.
Overall I was very pleased with this experience and would not hesitate to use Ideal Plumbing again.

I have written about this provider's installation of a cast-iron radiator system in our house in an earlier post, but since then they have done plumbing work for several of our neighbors based on our recommendation and all my neighbors have been extremely pleased. These guys really are the best plumbers you will ever find--smart, honest, responsible, and professional--so they are highly recommended.

My wife and I are renovating a 124 year-old house in Chestnut Hill. Back in the 1970s, previous owners had removed the lovely old cast iron standalone radiators from the living and dining room areas and installed inefficient aluminum fin tube baseboard radiators at the same time they put in a new boiler. Putting in baseboard radiators opened a lot of space in the rooms but the fin tube-style radiator heated up right away and cooled down right away. Also, for some reason, the old cast iron radiator in our kitchen was not heating up. So on our entire first floor we were freezing all winter. I got the idea of replacing the aluminum fin tube baseboard radiators with cast iron baseboard radiators. So we called for three quotes from different contractors. We had used Ideal Plumbing for a small plumbing job previously and they seemed smart, honest, pleasant, and professional. Out of the three quotes, theirs was in the middle but we felt most comfortable with them. Plus they diagnosed the problem with our first floor heating system correctly, while the other plumbing/heating companies missed it. Mike and Joe from Ideal determined that when the boiler was installed in the 1970s, whoever did it used gas valves instead of water valves so all the water going to our radiators was being forced through a small hole and therefore did not heat correctly. They therefore changed the configurations of pipes around our boiler, replacing the wrong valves and also installing cutoff valves so the boiler could be worked on without draining the entire heating system. Ideal Plumbing also did a masterful job of installing 27 feet of new Burnham Baseray cast iron baseboard radiators in our living and dining areas. This was not an easy installation, but they measured, planned, and installed everything beautifully, doing their absolute best not to damage the surrounding wood baseboard moldings. All in all, they did a perfect job, and the proof is in the pudding: For the first time in years, there is a cranking amount of heat on our first floor, including our kitchen, which used to be stone cold. My wife cried from joy, and I felt like a hero! So, thank you, Ideal Plumbing! We would highly recommend their services to anyone, for both plumbing and heating.

We moved into a 120 year old home about one year ago and the guest bathroom drain has always drained incredibly slow. The sellers told us that this was because the trap was not installed correctly and that the whole assembly would have to be replaced. Joe from Ideal Plumbing came out and correctly diagnosed that the problem was a clog further down the line, and he recommended a drain company that came out and solved the drain problem. He was very honest in letting us know that the trap did not need to be replaced. Joe also switched around one set of bathroom faucets that were installed incorrectly and replaced two sets of bathroom faucet cartridges. He was a very nice guy and was very professional, punctual, and honest. I felt very comfortable with Ideal Plumbing, and we will continue to use them whenever I need any plumbing work done in our house.

The owner is great; he is like an educated plumber. He also has done work for me in the past and gives me good advice. I will use him again in the future.

Mike responded quickly to my initial contact. He came out and assessed the situation accurately and well. I had thought that one faucet was beyond repair and should be replaced. Mike convinced me rightly that it could be fixed and that solid metal materials in it were better than those in new fixtures. We coordinated on a start date and he showed up the week promised and made the needed repairs in a couple of hours. He is clearly a knowledgeable and thorough professional. I would gladly use his services again.

Well. He was honest about what can be done on older radiators and remedied the problems as best as can be done without replacing the units.

I FOUND THAT THE PLUMBER WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID A VERY GOOD JOB AT A REASONABLE PRICE. HE WAS A CLEAN WORKER AND DID NOT LEAVE ANY MESS. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE.

AFTER SEVERAL ESTIMATES, WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FROM ANY ONE SO WE WENT WITH THE LEAST EXPENSIVE ESTIMATE AND THEY DID THE JOB AS PROMISED AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
