DIAMOND PAINTING & DECORATING

He has been my painter since 1998.  He painted my entire house.  I’ve tried to use someone who was cheaper and they were terrible.  Gregory is thorough and does fantastic work.  He has also even found contractors for me to do what needed to be done.

There simply aren't enough positive superlatives to describe how excellent my experience with DIAMOND PAINTING & DECORATING was from start to finish. Gegg is wonderfully responsive (typically available by phone or else returns calls promptly) and as others have noted, a perfectionist. I recently bought a new home (my first) and was eager to have a beautifully painted home, with little contractor-drama (I had read about and heard all manner of contractor horror stories). Excellence and reliability were precisely what Gregg and the DIAMOND PAINTING & DECORATING team delivered. I had each room painted a different color and the color in each is neat, rich and beautifully rendered; a fact on which every person who enters the house comments. The painting team was wonderfully neat (they covered all of my newly finished floors first with paper and then drop-cloths, and cleaned every speck of debris before they left) and they worked fast. I was on a tight schedule because I was moving into the house within a week. Just as Gregg promised, the team started and finished on time. The color consultation with Gregg was also fun. Gregg is funny, friendly and the consummate professional. He also has a great eye for color, and painted samples on the wall for me to assess before the team got to work. Although I ended up choosing some other colors, his initial guidance was instrumental in guiding me to my finished and beloved color palette. At the end of the project, I expected simply to pay Gregg, but this was not the end of the service. Imagine my pleasant surprise when he said that he wanted me to first spend some time with the paint job, to observe any areas that might need a touch-up (the movers had marked some of the walls and so touch-ups were definitely needed), and to make a list of the needed touch-ups. In general, I thought that the touch-ups were fairly minor (a tiny missed spot here, a fleck of paint there), but both Gregg, his lead painter, tsk-tsked as if I had found a crater-like gaps. Obviously, their work is a source of immense pride to them. I loved this about them! And when I thought that they had made a mistake in painting walls in a room a different color, both Gregg came to check (turns out I was wrong) and seemed interested only in my satisfaction rather than the fact that I had cost them an extra trip. I am supremely satisfied with both the professional and friendly service of this company and the excellent paint job. It's just gorgeous!! I also thought that the price was fair and reasonable. I am expecting a new bathroom vanity soon, which will dictate more touch-ups (as do all of the new patches in the walls that the electricians and other handymen have made) and so look forward to hiring DIAMOND PAINTING & DECORATING again. I enthusiastically and without reservation recommend DIAMOND PAINTING & DECORATING for their excellent work; their painting is fine indeed!

One year later, April 2006, there were some spots on the wrought iron work that needed to be re-done, as rust had developed and the paint on the front door had seriously oxidized and was no longer the color it was when it went on. It needed to be repainted and sealed against sun and weather damage, which the painter should have been aware of. He selected the paint and should have used something that would not oxidize and turn color to avoid this from happening. I called Mr. Shansky, the owner or President, who set a date to come and make the repairs. He never showed up. I called him at least three or four times after that, and he did not return my calls. I want my guarantee honored and the damage corrected.
