They did a good job in the backyard area, except the drain has been clogging ever since they did the work and they have not come back to repair that issue. The front areas where fine. The repairs on the concrete steps where okay, except that the concrete at the top of the stairs had hairline cracks that they did not come back to repair. This issue has gotten worse the first year. We have been in constant contact with Vince to get this repaired for over a year and he keeps putting us off. Dependable they are not!

In 2016 the concrete pouring for the steps was completed and in the first winter we had in 2017 the steps started falling off and we asked them to repair and so they came & finished the repairs on June 2017, and on the first rains came on January 19th 2018, the steps were started falling apart again and February 26th was the last contact with the company. He was frustrated because he doesn't want to hear about my complaint. My railings were loosening & I have somebody to fixed it before but now the railing comes loose again due to the falling apart of the steps. He said that he will be out in the spring to fix my step, and this is the second time to fix the steps for me & my warranty was up last year. I told him that I won't be paying for the repairs on the railings again since it is caused by the falling apart of the steps. I wanted for him to redo the job with a use better materials so that it will not be breaking up every year, if not then he should refund me back half of the price that was paid.

I was selling my house and settlement was going to be June 1, 2016, and on May 12th I found out I had to repair my sidewalks per township requirement. I contacted Dependable Concrete and long story short, I was notified on May 25th that the work was completed. It took a little longer than I expected, but it was still before June 1st, which was fine with me. The house is located in Philadelphia and I live in New York, and on May 25th I was actually on vacation in Sweden, so I forwarded the invoice to my husband in New York to pay. However, on May 27th, less than 36 hours has passed before I got frantic phone calls from my real estate agent telling me Dependable Concrete has filed a lawsuit against me for nonpayment. My job costs $2100, but Dependable Concrete was suing me for $2900. Since I was an out of town owner and Dependable Concrete knows the lawsuit will prevent me from selling my house, maybe they decided it is a good idea to make an extra $800. My husband tried to pay them via the invoice they sent over, but it was a bad link. My husband left multiple voicemails at the company, which were never returned. My realtor offered to pay them my balance, but they insisted that they need $2900, not a penny less, to stop the lawsuit. I was able to settle my house on time anyway, but it did ruin my mood for my vacation. I ended up going to court and I paid the $2100, but was also stuck with paying close to $200 in court fees. So be careful about the headaches, problems, and dishonesty you may encounter before you hire Dependable Concrete.
Response from Dependable Concrete LLC
"The judge ruled in Dependable Concrete's favor and [Member Name Removed] was forced to pay the balance or the buyer would be responsible. [Member Name Removed] was stalling payment so that the property could be settled without making the final payment. The judge caught her in several lies and confirmed that it would have been impossible to collect final payment after the property was sold and that deception existed."

I have been waiting for years to replace my concrete steps. I looked at Dependable Concrete LLC's website and saw exactly what I want. They did an excellent job and I am so happy with the outcome. The men were very nice and professional. They made sure everything was cleaned up before leaving. I would recommend their service and would hire them again if I need them.

When they finished it, it LOOKED great, but a week later there were already cracks. They said they would come out in two weeks. They were originally supposed to use a wire mesh to give the concrete something to bind to, which they did not do. I mentioned this to him and he said he did it the way he wanted to do it, which was not the right way it was supposed to be done. I was charged two grand for that I am following up to get my money back.
Response from Dependable Concrete LLC
"This information is not correct. The customer was given a contract which clearly stated the scope of the work. We were informed that she wanted to refresh her garage walls on a budget to correct the flaking and cracking. I informed her that she can save money by using an adhesive vs wire mesh. But I also informed her that she needed to repair the holes on the outside stone wall which is damaging the interior garage wall. She told me that she will in a few months. We never heard from her and rain storm after rain storm the walls showed signs of damage. I reviewed the damage and informed her that I can repair the wall and put wire on the walls as requested without charge but the repairs to the exterior stone wall needs to get fixed. She then informed me that the damage was from the type of cement I used and that I was suppose to use wire in the first place. I showed her the contract and reminded her of our conversation but of course she now has amnesia. I am going to share the contract and pix of the work. I aim to satisfy all my customers. If there is a complaint its immediately addressed. Please understand that I can not please 100% of my customers even if I return their money or attempt to satisfy outside of the contract. contract and pix [hyperlink removed]"

In the process  of cementing basement walls removed doors and left unattended outdoors and the storm door was stolen (did reduce bill by $200.)  Did not intend to replace door but leave plywood  sheet at door entrance, which was unacceptable, did replace door by nailing door in place. Even though I approved nailing the door shut, I was not happy with the situation.  In cementing the basement wall on the side of the door, cement extended beyond wall which will prevent the door, once properly installed from opening fully.
On October 1st, I sent Vincent text picture of the cement work that was cracking, and indicated other problems, the only reply was my key in the mail box.
Response from Dependable Concrete LLC
"This is not true, the contract never called for the purchase of a new door. She informed me that she had a carpenter that was contracted to refinish the basement and that he will install a new door and to screw in the existing door as temporary security until he arrives. She contracted a plumber to install a sump pump discharge pipe and damaged the cement work around the pipe. I met with the plumber he told me that he would correct the damage in order to satisfy the client. I later found out that the plumber wasn't paid for his initial work and refused to return to her property. I was very surprised to see this review."

First, the owner, Vincent, was extremely polite and responsive to my e-mails and questions.  He quickly produced a very professionally written and detailed cost estimate. I looked at two other contractors, before him, and it was soon apparent, this was the company, I wanted to hire. And, it didn't stop there. His work crew was extremely polite and courteous and were very respectful of my property. They made sure my property was left neat and clean!  Oh, it's gets even better. After the job was completed, their workmanship was simply awesome!  I've dealt with other concrete contractors before them, and these guy's are at the top of their game!  It's such a relief, now, to have finally found a company, I can do business with for life!

I started at the top of the Angie?s list and worked my way down the list looking for a sidewalk, concrete contractor to replace a small (60 sq ft) of sidewalk.  Sidewalk had been demolished in order to access a bad sewer line.  Dependable was the only company that gave me a written quote.  Their quote was quite complete, listing all the steps and items they were going to provide.  All the other contractor?s provided verbal quotes, when I questioned them about what they were going to do, I got responses like, ?everything required?.
The quote had the anticipated square footage, which was higher than I had calculated.  I called, and they sent out another estimator and revised the quote within 24 hours.  I felt this was extremely good service given the projects small size.  Their price was also one of the lowest ones i received.  They were not the lowest, but they were the lowest that gave a written, complete estimate.
The demolition and concrete replacement crews were professional, quick, courteous and did not leave any mess.  The only complaint i have was that they did not come back, as promised, on the third day (first day demo, second day concrete pour) and remove the tape that was protecting the sewer vent and water shut off valve, access cover.  I did not call to complain, but simply removed the items myself.  Based on the rest of the experience, i am sure they would have responded if I had called.

vince and his team were very communicative, from the day i got my estimate done to when the work was completed. in addition to new concrete steps, dependable concrete redid a few sidewalk panels and a wall in my basement. all done well. i received updates while the work was getting done, including diagrams and detailed explanations. vince also hauled away the concrete debris and even the old iron railings. overall very professional and attentive contractor. will contact for future work.

Initially when I contacted the company I received a very prompt response from the administrative assistant. In addition, I received the estimate within 2 days of my original email (this was incredibly fast compared with other companies I contacted). I asked if he could amend the original estimate to include a crack in the driveway and filling in the crack between the steps and the house and he agreed to do so at no extra charge. After receiving the estimate I paid my deposit and waited for them to contact me to schedule the job. They were delayed in getting back to me because of weather and the holidays which I understood. After that I called them a few times to get the project scheduled and to find out when the guys would be coming out to do the job. The communication during the job was a bit poor; The guys came out did one part of the job and left; then they came back to do another part and then left, etc. No one let us know what was going to happen or when they would return, etc.  I communicated this to the owner of the company when he came out to the job site. This was a small job for the company and they were fitting us in between their larger jobs which is completely understandable and fine but it would have been nice to know what to expect ahead of time.  Communication improved after speaking with him so he was clearly proactive re: the feedback.
I would use them again knowing ahead of time how they operate and knowing what to expect the second time.  The guys who performed the job were friendly and focused on getting the work done.

As before, Vincent Douglas and his showed up on time, got right to work, cleaned up after themselves, and were respectful of me and my property.
I had a small problem with scheduling, however, as my computer resisted talking to his online site.  His secretary called me and we did it that way.  But it was still a wait because Mr. Douglas is booked weeks in advance.
I had two other estimates.  Neither company would remove broken or cracked bricks:  Pointing only.  The first one was for $2500 and the second one was for $2200.  No ladders involved as the chimney is on a roof deck.
By the way, Mr. Douglas and his crew are very polite and personable, which is an unexpected plus.

Dependable Concrete was one of three companies that came out to give us a free estimate. I probably called ten companies so just coming out to price the project was huge. They fell right in the middle in terms of price.
We decided to go with Dependable because their price was reasonable, Vince was easily accessible by phone, and they were able to start the earliest. Despite some scheduling shifts due to the weather, Vince and his crew got the work done in about two and a half days within the same week. They kept the area clean and taped off during the entire project which we appreciated. Not only did they do all the work we had requested but they even went above and beyond by patching and repairing any cracks and joints that were visible in our front, side, and rear yards. Their workmanship was top notch and they did not skimp on materials (4000 psi high strength concrete was used, steel reinforcing mesh, and even steel rebar). Also the quote Vince put together was the most detailed I received and all the steps were followed through.
It was a smooth experience and I would definitely recommend Dependable Concrete for other jobs.

The contractor, Vince Douglass, was excellent.  His printed proposal was the most professional I have seen for this kind of work.  It included a full description of the job and its multiple components, including measurements and concrete specifications.  His price was fair and the lower of two proposals I received.  Work was scheduled around my timetable.

Vince, supervised the work himself.  The crew was excellent in every way and the job went smoothly and quickly.  The crew was extremely neat, all debris was cleaned up each day, and great care was taken to demolish and pour the concrete steps and driveway while protecting the adjacent stone walls.  The entire job was completed in two days.  The concrete work looks great and the site was left in good condition.  The steps are actually now perfectly uniform and better than the original steps.

Vince checked-in with us throughout the job to update us on the status of the work and to let us know what was next.  We recommend Dependable Concrete, LLC, highly.
