"No performance standards have been specified or proposed for this project" Meditate on that quote from my last email with Tim Horlacher before you have him and team work on your home. DCH is overpriced, and as quoted above, the quality is not there, and intentionally so. I had hired them to soundproof the ceiling of my small apartment which was becoming an increasing problem, especially with lockdowns and everyone being home all the time. I asked for an estimate to soundproof the ceiling. They gave me a fraudulent contract, took on a job that knew they could not successfully complete, withheld information from me, did nothing special to address the issue, and then when it didn't work, they excused themselves from all culpability. The sound issues were not taken care of in any successful way. When confronted about it, immediately Dave Horlacher whips out the contract and tells me that "you may have written asking for soundproofing, but we put 'sound absorption' in the contract." He admitted that there was definitely a problem and said that it 'was not his job to fix the problem'. When asked why it didn't work, I was told that it would have required 'different levels'. When asked why these 'different levels' were never presented to me at any point, I was told 'because this was already such an expensive job'. When I asked how they knew I wasn't willing to pay more for an actual solution, they then tried to throw the blame on my neighbors. Do not mistake there price point for quality, get everything in writing from them, even if they call to tell you something, and do not hand over any money until successful completion of work.
