This was the 2nd time I used City Wide. Nothing but a fantastic experience each time!!!
The roof was leaking over the winter when the snow would melt. I had a guy come out and repair it but it really didn't help. I knew it was a while since the roof was replaced, so I called City Wide. Jimmy gave me a quote the next day and had me scheduled for the following week and it went perfectly. There has been no problems since. Great People and Great Company!!!
I was given a 15 year warranty. Six years after installation, I am selling my home. The roof has held up very well. The seller's inspector found some minor issues, and the seller requested repair as part of the sale conditions. I called City Wide twice with no return call. On the third call, I did reach someone who told me that the warranty did not apply to the kind of work I was requesting, and that I should have been using their maintenance program. He insisted that this was indicated on all of their contracts. I told the person I spoke to that this was not on my signed invoice. He asked that I scan and send a copy of the invoice and they would get back to me. I sent the scan, and did not hear back.
I called again and the scan was never referenced. I was again told that the repairs I requested would not be covered but that the fee would be very small to do what I was asking. I needed to get that work done as I am moving in a few weeks, so I made an appointment for them to come out on Friday 4/3. When they didn't show up, I called, and someone in the office answered the phone. They said that they were not working because it was Good Friday, and it had started to rain. The rain part I could understand, but they didn't call to say that they weren't coming. And the Good Friday thing was never mentioned during that prior phone call. And, there was someone in the office answering the phone. They then said that they would come out today, Saturday the 4th. I am still sitting here waiting and they haven't shown up. or called. I have called the office twice and gotten an answering machine.
I'm sure that when I next speak to them, they will insist that they don't work on Saturdays, even though they made the appointment. Foolishly I did not ask for a name.
The final blow is that they will not assign the warranty to the new owner. There is simply no reason for that.
Clearly this company is more than willing to show up to do the initial work but will not honor their commitment to follow up unless the repair is financially worth their while. They have failed to answer calls, lied about missing appointments, and been negligent and manipulative about the conditions of following up on their work They have insisted on conditions that were never communicated to me, and did not respond to the information I provided regarding the initial work, at their request.
Meanwhile I am moving in two weeks and I have no idea if they will ever respond and/or show up. I picked this company because, at the time, they had excellent ratings on Angie's List. Caveat Emptor, big time. I would stay far away from these guys.
"Ok, This customer calls saying she is moving and that the home inspector says he wants some things addressed, which anyone buying or selling a home knows that home inspectors always want something done somewhere. This would be considered additional work and there would be a small fee associated, everything basically blew up from there, warranties cover workmanship and material. Now, anytime you want or need additional work done there is a fee associated with the work requested, after all it's time and material. Friday rained and Saturday there were 40+ mile an hour winds. Today is Monday the 6th and men are scheduled to do the work today."
