I took my car in for a routine oil change service and had them check out the radio controls located in the steering wheel, which was requested when appointment was set up. I sat in the waiting area over 2 hour only to be told by the service salesman that the part had to be ordered and would not be in until the next day. He also estimated about $2400.00 worth of work needed on car minus the warranty coverage of the radio control a total of 1800.00 for what they said was needed. They were instructed to do only the work that I had brought it in for. I had to get rental car and the one day job turned into a 3 day cat and mouse game. I had to repeatedly call service sales person to get updates on the status of my car. Told their fax's machine not working properly and they could not released the car until they received payment from the warranty company. After the third day of having the car, they finally requested the warranty company to debit the money to them and I was able to get the car. This caused me to pay 3 days of car rental insurance fees which I had only thought would be for 1 day based on them telling me the job would be done the very next day. To make matters worse when I completed the online survey request I indicated my concerns and opinion of the service provided, I got a call within the hour of submitting it from the service person. He was talking to the top of his voice saying that my answers had just caused him money out if his pay and had taken food of his table. He was very rude, totally unprofessional and the whole reason for his call was to reprimand me for my survey response. I contacted the customer service department for Nissan and filed a compliant for which they only contact Chapman and nothing was resolved. I also called the dealership owner, only to have my calls never returned, and forward them a letter of the entire incident. This indicates to me that this is acceptable behavior there at Chapman Nissan. Based on that I will not recommend anyone to trust the service department there and be very aware if you complete a survey that is not to their liking. And after having my car checked out at another Nissan dealer I was told it didn't need all the extra work that they said I did.
I was a loyal customer of Chapman Nissan but after this incident in which I was allowed to be disrespected by this employee I will never do business with them again.
