Cenova

Overall, we were very happy and would use Cenova again.

I liked their price and quality work. They showed up on time and they did everything they said they were going to do.

This was the fourth service I called because the others didn't come out to give an estimate as promised. The first time I called Cenova,I talked to an actual person. He said the person that I needed to speak with wasn't there, but he would be given a message to call me. An hour later, Joseph Kumpf called me back. He came out within two hours and took a look at the tree. Within a day, he gave me a written estimate which he put through my mail slot on his way to work. I called him that day and he came down after lunch to get a down payment. He said at that time it would probably be about a week and a half before the work could be done, but he would call me to confirm a date. He called me the next day to say that he had to reschedule a job, so he could do the work in three days. The work crew got there when they were supposed to and got right to work. They did a great job. Joseph dropped by like he said he would to make sure everything was going OK. The work crew did a great clean up job.

I scheduled Moe to come out for an estimate. It was extremely reasonable compared to a previous estimate. The three workers who came out were polite and professional and did a good job. Everything was cleaned up to my satisfaction. [As a side note, when my roommate didn't let them in on the scheduled day, I was told I would be charged $100 extra for their time. I was shocked and a bit upset (mostly at my roommate!). Ultimately, Moe was able to include some extra work that had not been included in the original estimate so I thought the situation was ultimately resolved well.]

The trees were way too large for the yard and the home inspector recommended removing them as their roots were almost certainly starting to push on the building's foundation. We've never had to use a tree service before and the job was too big for us to do on our own, especially considering this was in a back alley with lots of wiring around. We called a number of contractors randomly from the Yellow Pages to get estimates. Cenova was the first to give an estimate, gave the lowest estimate and included the debris removal, which none of the other services did. The work was done quickly and cleanly. They did leave part of one stump because it was nearly touching the neighbor's fence and didn't want to damage the neighbor's property. They notified me of this before they finished the work. Easy, on time, well-priced, and professional. Couldn't be happier.
