We know that painting our large 3-story house is a daunting task, but Brian and his crew didn't falter. Either Brian or his right-hand-man (and brother-in-law) were always on site (usually both) making sure the job was done right. They went beyond the call of duty in quite a few instances. Once they came very early to avoid angering a hive of bees, long-time residents near the third-story peak of our roof. They even removed all of our storm windows to get at the window trim and assigned one worker to help me wash windows while the storms were out! And they didn't just paint over rotten wood; they reported it to me and either repaired it themselves or had another carpenter contractor then working for us do the repairs. Actually, Brian does carpentry work as well. His motto is: "No job too big or too small for all your building needs." The crew is pleasant and very eager to satisfy the customer. Graduation party day came and we had a beautiful "new" house to show off!
Description of Work: Our circa 1872 Victorian house badly needed an exterior painting. We got competitive bids; Brian came in lowest and promised to treat the house "like a restoration project." He and his crew first power washed the all-wood 3-story house, and fixed all holes, cracks, nail pops. Then they puttied and caulked. They always used the best materials; something our last painters had not done. They used an oil primer and two top coats of latex paint. We have about 33 very big windows which were painted a different shade, with a third decorative trim color. There are two porches: a large old-fashioned front porch and a screened-in rear porch that was then being renovated. The porches added two more colors to the palette. Brian and his crew worked companionably with the carpenters working on the rear porch project, and coordinated their activity to get the job done by the deadline: Our daughter's college graduation party.
